Murti's dad has paid tribute to his daughter, saying she was a keen English student. | Nigerian graduate Uyo Ukonne missing in New Jersey since Sunday Posted: 01 Jun 2014 06:09 AM PDT   Uyo, who had just graduated from New Jersey City University with a degree in chemistry, had been rafting down the river at 1pm with friends when he took off his life jacket and jumped into the water to swim. His friends say after he went into the river, he surfaced once, sank again and disappeared. His friends said he'd told them he wasn't a good swimmer before attempting to swim in the 20-foot, cold river (pictured right). Police say search & rescue began almost immediately but he wasn't found. Since Sunday divers have been combing through the river foot by foot searching for Uyo, who is now presumed drowned, Joe Hinkes, the chief ranger of the Upper Delaware Scenic & Recreational River said. | "There are issues, but there's no break up' - Christ Embassy denies Oyakhilomes breakup Posted: 01 Jun 2014 04:56 AM PDT   A few weeks ago, a Facebook account called 'Where is Rev Anita Oyakhilome?' was created by an anonymous member of Christ Embassy International where they insinuated that all was not well in the holy matrimony of Pastor Oyakhilome and his wife of many years, Rev. Anita. In the Facebook page, Pastor Oyakhilome was quoted as saying that there were problems in his marriage because of his wife's attitude. Speaking with his UK-based pastors and deacons at the church Bermondsey branch office on May 16th, pastor Oyakhilome allegedly said;
Reacting to this quotes and reports, someone from the Church who spoke with a Punch reporter said "There are issues, yes, but the Facebook post is an absolute fallacy." Another church member who identified herself as Pastor Mercy, said the report was false. "It is not true; it is a rumour. All these things are make-up stories." |

| Boko Haram men overwhelm vigilantes in Kalabalge, kill 40 villagers Posted: 01 Jun 2014 04:12 AM PDT  A security agent and a community source told SaharaReporters that more than 500 Boko Haram fighters arrived in the town in numerous pick-up vans and were able to overwhelm local hunters and vigilante members within the community. Continue...  Yesterday's attack originated in Gamboru Ngala, a border town between Nigeria and Cameroon, and lasted for several hours. Our security agent source disclosed that the religious militants also attacked Ankulkule, Chekobe, Izge and five other communities. The source told SaharaReporters that some of the villages were completely burnt, adding that most of those who survived the horrendous attacks had fled to Cameroon to seek refuge. About a week ago, a group of local hunters and youth in Kalabalge had ambushed a contingent of Boko Haram terrorists who arrived in the village to wreak havoc. The vigilante group killed scores of the militants, arrested a few, and send others scurrying into the bush to escape. A member of the village told SaharaReporters that, having resisted and repelled Boko Haram, members of the community expected the Islamist group to launch a vengeful attack. "Our vigilantes were ready, waiting for them, day and night," the source said. "We knew that soldiers cannot protect us, so our fighters were ready. Look at this profile above...found on a gay dating site. What's the number one reason why any woman would chose to be in a marriage with a bisexual man and even support his lifestyle? I do not have a study report but the rate at which gay/bisexual men are getting married in this country either as a result of family pressure or just to live up to society norm is alarming. And yes, many of these women know and they chose to go along with it. Why? Would you marry a man who you know is bisexual? And if so, why? |
| Sudanese woman sentenced to death for apostasy 'to be freed' Posted: 31 May 2014 03:49 PM PDT   A Sudanese Under-secretary at the foreign ministry Abdullahi Alzareg said Sudan guaranteed religious freedom and was committed to protecting the woman. He said Meriam would be free from prison in a matter of days. Meanwhile her lawyer, Elshareef Ali Mohammed has expressed reservations over the government's new position, saying they are just trying to divert international attention from the case and that he doubts she would be freed soon
Meriam gave birth to her second baby in prison on Tuesday May 27th. |
