He hails from Gombe State. The President has also appointed Hajia Baraka Sani as his Senior Special Assistant for Schools' Agriculture Programme. | Auto dealer excretes 52 wraps of cocaine Posted: 05 Jun 2014 04:38 AM PDT  36 year old Imo-state born Anabaronye Ken, an auto parts dealer based in Lagos has been arrested by National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) officials after he excreted 52 wraps of cocaine at the Muritala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos. He was arrested as he was about to board a flight to France en route Milan, Italy. It took Ken four days to excrete all the drugs from his system, Punch reports When interrogated, Ken said he went into the business to better the life of his family and prayed that he be released on time so he can witness the birth of his unborn child as his pregnant wife is due to give birth soon. | 100+ killed as Boko Haram men dressed in military uniform attack 4 villages in Borno Posted: 05 Jun 2014 01:21 AM PDT  Over 100 people were killed on Tuesday night after Boko Haram men attacked 4 villages; Attagara, Agapalawa, Ngoshe and Aganjara in the Gwoza local government area of Borno State. News of the attack is just being heard because the men destroyed the telecommunications mast in the villages during the attacks. According to Hon. Peter Bive, the House of Reps member for the area at the National Assembly who spoke with AFP, he said the attacks on the villages were left many dead. "There were deadly attacks on these villages by Boko Haram insurgents who killed a large number of people and destroyed homes. We are still trying to compile a toll of the dead as people on the ground are still counting the number of casualties." he said. He also stated that the sect men have been daring enough in their actions as they have foisted their flags in 7 villages in the region indicating that those areas are now in their control "Boko Haram have hoisted their flags in at least seven villages in the area which they now claim to be under their control," he said. |

She was pregnant again at the time and claimed she feared her second daughter would also be subjected to FGM. Afusat and her two daughters were arrested on May 28th by the UK Border Agency and although over 120,000 people signed a petition calling on the Home Office not to deport her, the campaign failed as the woman and her kids were put on a flight back to Nigeria yesterday June 4th. "We consider every claim for asylum on its individual merits and in this case, the claimant was not considered to be in need of protection. The case has gone through the proper legal process and our decision has been supported by the UK courts on five separate occasions, while the European Court of Human Rights declined an application to halt the removal." UK Home Office said.Afusat's lawyer said she's spoken to her since she returned to Nigeria and said Afusat is quite upset at being sent back and plans to continue fighting her case until she's allowed back in the UK. |
