| Love Scam: EFCC Recovers $2000 For American Victim Posted: 14 Jan 2015 12:37 PM PST  Relief came for one Margaret Sanders, an American based in Sherman, Texas, as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, successfully recovered the sum of $2000.00 (two thousand USD) which she had lost to a suspected Nigerian fraudster, Benjamin Akugbe (pictured above), in a romance scam. Sanders, through a petition dated July 9, 2013, alleged that she entered into a relationship on Facebook, with someone who claimed to be Benny Brown from Warri, Delta State, with both agreeing to get married. According to her, the suspect in the course of the affair, requested for the sum of $2000.00 USD to enable him join her in United States of America. The money was wired to him through Western Union, into an account with the name, Gladdys Ikpoba, domiciled with a new generation bank. After an endless wait for the finance, Sanders came to the sad realisation that she had been duped. But her efforts to recover the money were unsuccessful until she petitioned the EFCC. Fortunately, the military was able to repel the attack and kill/arrest many militants. I just got a gruesome pic after the cut supposedly from a military officer at the scene in Borno which purportedly shows members of Boko Haram killed during the attack earlier today. A league source said Evercore will gather bids potentially as soon as the end of the month. Sources likewise confirmed a report from Bleacher Report that the struggling Russian economy is a factor." Oshiomole kicks out Igbinedion Uni students from state medical facility Posted: 14 Jan 2015 07:14 AM PST  According to reports, the governor is angry at the school's management for collecting money from their students and not providing the necessary medical facilities for their training. The students had up until now enjoyed free training at the state owned medical hospitals despite paying huge sums of money to their school for their training. Gov Oshiomole had earlier terminated an agreement with the management of the school to train their medical students at the state's specialist hospital over debts totaling N350million owed the state by the school. |
