| Don't place any stock on MEND's alleged endorsement, Jonathan tells Buhari Posted: 08 Jan 2015 11:31 AM PST  We have noted with amusement, the vituperations against President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan by the renegade faction of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) headed by the convicted terrorist, Henry Okah in a statement issued to endorse the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Gen Buhari. While we thank all people of the Niger Delta, including the former militants whom MEND claims to represent who have already disassociated themselves from the statement issued by the faceless Jomo Gbomo and reaffirmed their unflinching support for President Jonathan's re-election, we will like to state that the latest assault on the President by Henry Okah and his stooges did not come as a surprise to us at all. It was very much to be expected, coming as it did from an individual and group who have never hidden their vengeful personal animosity against the President and who have even gone to the extent of launching murderous assaults on venues at which the President was present on two occasions. It is most regrettable indeed that rather than show remorse for the terrorist acts against his fatherland for which he is now rightly serving a term of imprisonment in South Africa, Henry Okah continues to pursue a pointless personal vendetta against President Jonathan who continues to advance and protect the interests of the people of the Niger Delta which Okah and his group threatened with their misguided actions. The vituperations against President Jonathan in the MEND statement endorsing General Buhari are mischievous, baseless and deliberately styled to denigrate the good works of the President. It is well known that President Jonathan played a significant role in ending the militancy and insurgency in the Niger Delta. Under his watch, the destruction of oil facilities and the incessant kidnapping and killing of expatriates in the Niger Delta waterways have become a thing of the past. The attempt by Jomo Gbomo's MEND to rewrite history by tarnishing the person of President Jonathan for selfish, pecuniary and political gains will amount to an exercise in futility. All patriotic and right-thinking Nigerians must consider an endorsement from a convicted criminal and his group who harbor evil intentions against the unity and progress of their country as a poisoned chalice. President Jonathan would never have accepted such an endorsement from terrorists and renegades. The President therefore advises General Buhari not to place any stock on his purported endorsement by the renegade faction of MEND which is led by a convicted and unrepentant terrorist with whom no leader who truly means well for Nigeria should be associated Reuben Abati Special Adviser to the President (Media & Publicity) January 8, 2015 |

Remy Martin Danceoff 2014 flies winners to Abu Dhabi Posted: 08 Jan 2015 11:25 AM PST  On the night, a dance crew were crowned winners but were eventually disqualified due to defaulting the entry requirements. Runners up D and K Crew(who are currently in Abu Dhabi) were then crowned winners.  The Duo who arrived in the UAE this morning are staying at the Aloft Abu Dhabi Hotel which is also the venue of the Abu Dhabi International Dance (ADIDF) which starts on the 8th January(tonight).  ADIDF is the first of its kind dance event in the capital. This three-day boogie bonanza is by far the biggest the city has ever seen. A mix of workshops and fun, their "dance until you drop" parties are to die for. | PDP replies MEND after they endorse Buhari, calls them a violent group Posted: 08 Jan 2015 11:53 AM PST  The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has noted today's press release by the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) reiterating their endorsement of General Muhammadu Buhari. We invite well-meaning and patriotic Nigerians to note the endorsement and support for General Buhari by all kinds of violent groups. The peace and unity of our great country remain paramount in the policies and programmes of our great party. Finally, we stand by the statement of our leader and President of Nigeria, President Goodluck Jonathan on this matter. Signed: Full text of the MEND press statement released earlier today... The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) views the recent question and statement credited to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, as very callous and irresponsible. This question: "Explain your connections with MEND", further confirms and vindicates our views about Goodluck Jonathan, his inept government and the PDP. MEND strongly denies any links with the All Progressive Congress (APC) and has never been approached for anything, at any point in time, by the party, as pettily alleged by Olisa Metuh. The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) stands strongly by our endorsement and full support of General Muhammadu Buhari as the man to lead the country out of its present calamitous state in the hands of Goodluck Jonathan. MEND finds it laughable the recent statement by Mr Eric Omare, the Publicity Secretary of a mere tribal assembly and political praise singers, known as the Ijaw Youth Council, stating that "MEND is a ghost". We clearly understand their frustrations at our stance as it obviously came as a shock to them. Try and convince me how he is better than me. He forced his way into politics in 1983 through a coup. He was not a politician, he was a soldier. What is the role of a soldier? It is to protect and destroy. The man forced his way into politics. On account of that alone, he is disqualified. People cannot praise any man that commits treason against his fatherland".Well, fast forward to 2015 and Mr Momodu has changed his mind. He says he was wrong in 2011. |

This is the life I dreamt of, this is the path I chose. All my life all I wanted was to speak through my music and give my fans something to cherish; a timeless treasure to hold dear. If anyone told me I would be this massive in 2008 while I was leaving home to pursue my dreams, I would never have imagined it. But thank God here we are today.
Our hard work paid – we got recognised by Time Magazine. My life is beautiful and I have you to thank for it. There have been low points but I can assure you I don't quit. I'm working harder everyday, building and pushing, knowing it's only a matter of time till victory is firmly in my grasp. The Ibile Army is a growing movement and today, we have Sojay, The Voice, signed on. The young man's talent and work ethic amazes me every single time, and I urge you to show him the same support and love you have shown me.
