One of the Kardashian girls pregnant?

Posted: 05 Jan 2015 01:02 PM PST

Khloe Kardashian posted this on her instagram page asking fans to guess which of the Kardashian girls is pregnant as a pregnancy test is flashed. She posted a photo of herself, Kim, Kris and Kendall Jenner but ruled out their mother Kris Jenner by calling 'Miss Menopause". So who is it? Kim already said she's not pregnant, Kendall is 19 and a model...possibly not her, so is it Khloe herself? She told fans to watch out for the answer in new episodes of the family reality show and later deleted the post.

Obasanjo lashes out at president Jonathan again...

Posted: 05 Jan 2015 12:17 PM PST

Former Pres. Olusegun Obasanjo today took another swipe at the administration of Pres. Jonathan, accusing him and his government of depleting Nigeria's oil savings which according to him was at $45billion when he left office and had depreciated over time to $30billion. He made the accusations while receiving some South-West women leaders at his residence in Abeokuta, earlier today
"Our economy should not have been this bad. When I was leaving office about eight years ago, I left a very huge reserve after we had paid all our debts. Almost $25billion we kept in what they called excess crude. The excess from the budget we were saving as reserve for the rainy days. When we left in May 2007, the reserve was said to have been raised to $35billion. But today, that reserve has been depleted!
Today, that reserve has been depleted. The reserve we left when we finished paying all our debts, our debts that was about 40billion dollars, that is including debt forgiveness, the remaining debt was not more than $3billion. Our reserve after we had paid off this debt was about $45billion. As I said, they continued till the end of 2007, I heard that the reserve increased to almost $67billion before the end of the year. Our reserve now, learnt is left with around only $30billion. That is why the Naira has been falling against the dollar. What would now happen, I learnt if you want to buy a dollar now, it's about N192 or N195. What it means is this, what you have been buying at N150 to a dollar, now you need N192 or N195 to buy it. That is the real situation. Is there any remedy? There is, but it does not come overnight because it means we have to give up all the bad things we have been doing. I know that God did not create Nigeria not to be rich or great. Is it that the people he created in Nigeria are not knowledgeable enough or not intelligent enough? Or is that they don't know their rights? Our problems in Nigeria, let's look at the foundation of our leadership. In the profession I know very well, the military, what we normally say is that there are no bad soldiers but bad officers. If you see a situation where the soldiers are not doing well, we need to examine the officers in charge. So it is in the family, the community, the town and the country," he said.
President Obasanjo said his remarks about the state of the nation was not in any way an expression of a personal grudge with the President
"I have no grudges against Jonathan and I think Jonathan equally has no grudges against me. I'm not quarrelling with Jonathan but all I know is that whatever is good for Nigeria, that I'm ready to die for. I emphasize that whatever is good for Nigeria, is what I'm ready to defend with my life. Whoever, I emphasize, whoever says he would not do anything good to Nigeria, even if he says he's ready to go 'konko below', I'm ready to square it up with such a person. I say again, whoever that person may be, I want you to get that correctly. If this country is going to change for the better, it would start from the top and if it's going to be otherwise, it would start from the top, too," the former president stressed.

Focus on real campaign - PDP tells APC, says APC plans fake poll rating for Buhari

Posted: 05 Jan 2015 11:39 AM PST

A statement from  PDP below...
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has counseled the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its Presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari to focus on real campaign and try to win followers genuinely instead of applying cheap diversionary tactics.
PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh in a statement on Monday said "the APC so called 'change agenda' should be based on issues and not on change of dressing and religious gathering".
"This election is not about political window-dressing and dramatizing. What will count is record of performance and antecedents, which President Jonathan stands taller than General Buhari.

"It is therefore not surprising that the APC and its Presidential candidate will resort to organizing a kangaroo opinion rating in a failed attempt to cover up their inadequacies and manipulate public perception in their favour.

This APC phantom poll has been designed in such a way to make the Nigerian public believe that 75 percent of the voting population is in support of General Buhari ahead the February 14 Presidential election.

Our findings reveal that the APC leaders are already intensifying effort to compromise some section of the media so as to ensure that the poll packaged by its foreign consultants is widely publicized.

Part of the strategy is a disguised mobile phone balloting application being circulated by the APC, whereby a curious click elicits a thank-you message from them and automatically register the unsuspecting phone user as having voted in support of General Buhari.

We are indeed shocked at the level the APC and its presidential candidate have sunk in their desperation for power. We hereby urge Nigerians, particularly the media to be wary of this plot to deceive the public and truncate our democratic process.

Our final advice to the APC is that they should focus on real campaign and stop playing to the gallery. Lies, no matter how much embellished can never take the place of truth and nothing built on falsehood stands.  This election is not about fake figures and falsehood. It is about the choice of the citizens. Nigerians have since made up their minds to continue identifying with their performing President and no amount of propaganda and misrepresentation by the APC can change this.

Signed:

Olisa Metuh
National Publicity Secretary

Photos: The epileptic man on the road

Posted: 05 Jan 2015 10:51 AM PST

The LIB reader who sent this wants me to post it exactly the way she wrote it. See below...
"What happened today, 5th of january, 2015 shows what Nigeria has become today. The average man in Nigeria is helpless ( I write this with all sincerity of heart)
Today an epileptic man was lying helplessly on the side of the road vibrating and lying faced down. People drove by, walked by and no one seemed to care and because of the epidemic virus- ebola no one wanted to touch him  and that is very understandable.

We were 5 or 6 of us so who cared. what did we do? We called for an ambulance three different times and were we told "IT WASNT AN EMERGENCY". Then we called the ebola line maybe they would handle the situation with more efficiency. UNFORTUNATELY the person who picked the call heard the story and cut off the call...imagine that! So we didn't bother to call for help again!

So we hoped that the epilepsy would calm down, but unfortunately it became worse and due to that he ended up falling in the gutter (which was full of stale water), he could have lost his life. So 2 men were able to bring him out and then we got a doctor who lived nearby to come help us .. HOURS went by and FINALLY! He came back! He remembered his name & was able to speak………

At the end of the day, he got come money for transport, a change of cloths and definitely some advice from the doctor! I'm so grateful he didn't have to lose his life.

If the roads was tarred his asthma wouldn't have been at the extreme. If the gutter was properly drained, He wouldn't have drowned. If we had reliable health care services in this country he would have gotten better treatment and probably not have gotten that epileptic attack. If we had an effective ambulance system and if the ebola line was effective too he would have been in the hospital getting better treatment. If we weren't caring enough to help him! Who knows??? He could have lost his life.
Nigeria needs a turnaround before its too late!!!

UK Govt have yawared lol. See what they are proposing for toddlers

Posted: 05 Jan 2015 09:15 AM PST

How weird is this? Nursery staff and childminders have been given 'duty' by the UK government to report toddlers they suspect of being at risk of becoming terrorists under new Home Office measures. They will now start spying and labeling toddlers from black and ethnic minorities.

From Telegraph UK
Nursery school staff and registered childminders must report toddlers at risk of becoming terrorists, under counter-terrorism measures proposed by the Government. The directive is contained in a 39-page consultation document issued by the Home Office in a bid to bolster its Prevent anti-terrorism plan.
Critics said the idea was "unworkable" and "heavy-handed", and accused the Government of treating teachers and carers as "spies".
The document accompanies the Counter-Terrorism and Security Bill, currently before parliament. It identifies nurseries and early years childcare providers, along with schools and universities, as having a duty "to prevent people being drawn into terrorism".
The consultation paper adds: "Senior management and governors should make sure that staff have training that gives them the knowledge and confidence to identify children at risk of being drawn into terrorism and challenge extremist ideas which can be used to legitimise terrorism and are shared by terrorist groups.

"They should know where and how to refer children and young people for further help."
But concern was raised over the practicalities of making it a legal requirement for staff to inform on toddlers.

David Davis, the Conservative MP and former shadow home secretary, said: "It is hard to see how this can be implemented. It is unworkable. I have to say I cannot understand what they [nursery staff] are expected to do.
"Are they supposed to report some toddler who comes in praising a preacher deemed to be extreme? I don't think so.
"It is heavy-handed."

Mr Davis also accused the Home Office of pushing the legislation too quickly.
Isabella Sankey, the policy director at human rights body Liberty, said: "Turning our teachers and childminders into an army of involuntary spies will not stop the terrorist threat.

18 Female Soldiers Feared Kidnapped In Baga, Borno state

Posted: 05 Jan 2015 08:48 AM PST

Sahara Reporters is reporting that Boko Haram militants may have kidnapped 18 female soldiers in Baga in Borno State. Report below...
Two sources told SaharaReporters that, out of 26 female soldiers posted to the military base of the Multinational Joint Task Force, only eight have so far been accounted for. The commander of the troops in the area, Colonel Kuti, has also not been found since the insurgents attacked the town on Saturday. Residents of Baga told our reporters that Boko Haram insurgents invaded their town and killed at least 55 people, including soldiers attached to MNJTF.
Both residents and security sources said the insurgent attack lasted close to 18 hours before the Islamist terrorists overpowered the troops and seized the military base. One military source said the attack took them by surprise. He said the troops made a gallant effort to repel the attack, but that hundreds of Islamist militants stormed the military base with high-caliber weapons. A resident revealed that the invading insurgents also burnt down parts of the fishing town. Bukar Kaka, a fisherman who fled from the town, said no fewer than 50 villagers, including five soldiers, were killed while others sustained wounds in the attacks. He said he saw soldiers fleeing.
A security source said the insurgent invaders also stormed other neighboring communities, shooting indiscriminately at people. He added that the militants also destroyed hundreds of houses and shops, often using fuel and other explosive devices.
In an interview with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), Senator Maina Ma'aji Lawan confirmed the insurgents' attack on Baga and surrounding towns. He added that military troops and youth volunteers, popularly known as 'civilian JTF, had attempted to repel the onslaught, but were overpowered by the invaders.

Five things I learnt from Toke Makinwa in 2014 by Shade Ladipo

Posted: 05 Jan 2015 06:59 AM PST

Article written by OAP and TV producer, Shade Ladipo (pictured right). Enjoy...
2014 was an eventful year and very few non-celebrities made it a very interesting year, one of them was Ms. Makinwa and since I get a lot of questions about her from my listeners, I have decided to help you explain what she did right, if you are Social Media Savvy and know whats happening in pop culture then my subject matter will be no stranger to you; Please continue...
5. Looking Good is Good Business.
Although everyone called Toke the MTN of 2013/2014, Mrs Ayida has proven that looking good is a definite step in being seen. Every event she appeared she looked like the belle of the ball from her hair to her nails and of course her clothes/shoes. Without a doubt if you want to be noticed then this is a very important step (If you can afford it of course)
Tip A: Get a stylist If you can afford one)
Tip B: Raid you friends and family's wardrobe but please dont sleep with men for clothes and shoes oh

4. Social Media Ready
Without a doubt being social media ready is something everyone thinks they have on lock down but did you get noticed tho? From her Vlog to Instagram, Keek, Facebook et al, Toke was prepared for every opportunity to upload the right pictures (always taken properly) and every video seemed real and fun to watch
Tip A: Get a good phone (Samsung is probably the best, you can get 2nd hand from an uncle or father)
Tip B: Always have an attache friend who will always be willing to take all the pictures and make sure you pose plenty until you find the perfect picture, also make sure you post the picture before you go for the event and of course filter filter filter

3. Celebrity Friends Dont hurt
Friendships are usually hard to cultivate in these days of over-exposure and 'fakers' but if you go the Toke way its possible to have almost every celebrity wanting to be in the same mix with you without even being as close and tight as everyone would think. Everyone likes a good support system and Toke seems to provide that with her various platforms and been available to meet and attend personal events of these celebrities and truly having some celebrity friends doesn't hurt one bit (As long as you also have some value to provide them oh)
Tip A: Make friends with upcoming and insecure artistes, they are willing to be friends with almost everyone
Tip B: Target celebs that dont have cars or dont have easy access to things you have access to

2. Live Your Life Like Its Glamorous
Toke seems to have a GLAM life and in the world of Social Media that is a big plus for getting the world to look in your direction. Even if she doesn't have a glamorous life, from the outside it sure looks like it. So you want everyone looking then live it up, turn up with class, hang out with the hottest ladies, be seen at the IT events and trust me it all looks like you're hotter than Kim K (You better have money to buy some event tickets oh)
Tip A: Every picture you post make sure you look like you're having fun, laugh hard, stick out your tongue, cover your face with a cap, get a tattoo, anything that will make you look wanton and happy

1. Your personal Life is Up For Grabs As Long As You Make It Work For You
A lot of criticism followed Toke in 2014 on how much she over exposed her personal life but hey She don marry innit?? All I'm saying is as long as you make all the Negative/Positive Press work in your favor then that is a big WIN in my books because from the Looks of things Toke is still happily married and nowadays you don't see anything unintentional in the Media about her personal life anymore. GBAM
Tip A: Take pictures with only the cute members of your family or preferably the yellow ones, cute babies and cute older uncles work
Tip B: Find a cute male friend, cover his face while sitting on his lap and call him Bae (also put a cute long story of how long you guys have known each other)

I know alot of people thought I would be all negative on this subject but far from been negative or positive I AM BEING OBJECTIVE

Toke Makinwa-Ayida is a celebrity by her own doing (and she didnt need a sex tape to do it). Did she do some things wrong last year yes but she did a lot of things right plus she stepped up her Emceeing game last year as well (she even listened to me and has toned down the phonee lol)

There should be a manual on how to be a celebrity without actually being a celebrity and Toke should write it‎.

Elections are here. This is a reminder from Esure

Posted: 05 Jan 2015 08:51 AM PST

"2014 has run its course and like years before it; gone into history. These years may be gone but the effects they left have shaped our lives as individuals and collectively as a nation, into whatever we can describe as... Good/Bad; Excellent/Poor; Rosy/Gloomy." - Esure

Now that we're in a new year, the actions we take will further cement our status. This one is even more significant as we have elections coming up; Elections bring stagnancy or progress or change (etc.) depending on events before and after them. Therefore, here and now, we have another opportunity to rewrite our story and redefine ourselves... or stay the same. The choice is ours!"

This summarises the message in this new conscious single "IDIBO DE" by Corporate Executive/Label Owner/Music Producer/Exemplary Guitarist ESURE.

IDIBO DE highlights the common happenstances on our political landscape in Nigeria where politicians only remember the masses they are voted in to serve when election time comes. It gives a reflective insight to the mind of an average Nigerian on lessons learnt from the past and mindset going forward... Do enjoy, perhaps you too might learn something.
