6th Edition Of Niger Delta Achievers Merit Award To Hold 26th May

The Niger Delta is a blessed and wealthy region, which offers many opportunities for profitable investment in a range of sectors from Telecom, Real Estate, finance, Oil & Gas, Sports, entertainment, education to agriculture. The region has produced some of the best human resource personnel whom have been contributing immensely to its regional growth and development over the years. Niger Delta Achievers' Merit Award was initiated in 2009/2010 to recognize, inspire and celebrate distinguished Niger Deltans who have demonstrated uncommon patriotism, excellence and great capacity through governance and social responsibility in their various capacities.

Muazu sues for peace, says bickering not in the interest of the PDP

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ahmadu Adamu Muazu has appealed to all stakeholders and members of the party across the country to put behind them the disappointment of defeat, rest all misunderstandings and put the survival and stability of the party ahead of all other considerations.

The National Chairman in a statement on Tuesday said though the party's defeat in the last general election is painful, members should key into the intervention by President Goodluck Jonathan and not allow the situation to further divide the party.

"The national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has noted the various reactions that trailed the unfortunate loss of our great party in the last general elections.

"In the last few weeks, the media has been fishing on these reactions with a section even blowing it out of proportion to a level that has become a threat to our oneness as a family.

"As the National Chairman and a key stakeholder in this party in the last 16 years, I quite understand and appreciate the concern, pain and frustrations of our members regarding our defeat. 

"I am also deeply worried about the division the development has generated within the PDP family especially regarding whether or not the national leadership should be dissolved as a direct consequence of our collective challenge.

"In the course of events, there have been reactions and counter-reactions among party members; mistakes have been made, some of them avoidable, but this is the time to put all of them behind us and move ahead as our party and its interest remain paramount and overriding.

"Expectedly, our party has had a share of media bashing and misrepresentations, which contributed immensely to the misunderstanding we are facing in our fold.

For instance, in one of the press reactions from my office, the media quoted one of my aides as saying that our party will be "buried' without the National Chairman, a clear deviation from what was actually said. Such misrepresentations of our party leaders also abound in the social media and we must be wary of them.

However, I have already issued a strong warning to all my aides to henceforth desist from making comments on matters of party administration in the media or any other forum whatsoever.

"Having been a state governor on the platform of this party for eight years and having the grace of being a committed member for the past 16 years, I very much appreciate the reactions of some of our members like Governor Ayo Fayose, whose victory in Ekiti in June last year helped to strengthen our party, particularly in the southwest region.

"Nevertheless, in the larger interest of our party, we all must resolve to bury the hatchet, pick our pieces and move on to rebuild our party and return to our winning ways.

"In the wisdom of leadership of the party, we have set the machinery in motion by the constitution and inauguration of the Post Election Assessment Committee headed by the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu. The needful thing to do at the moment is for all hands to be on the deck with this committee to come up with meaningful report that will provide answers to our challenges and roadmap for the future.

"Furthermore, my absence from the country lately has led to some apprehensions within the party resulting in various public interpretations, but the fact is, following the rigorous campaigns and its attendant toll on my health, I had to yield to the advice of my doctor to take a two weeks bed rest for proper checks and recuperations. I am happy to inform all our members that I have been responding to care and will soon return to the country.

"Finally, I wish to charge all members that though we have had our setback, we are not down and out. The PDP remains the largest political party in this country. What we need now more than ever before is to unite as therein lies our strength as a family. Fighting ourselves will not yield anyone any good. Our members therefore must remain focused and join forces with their leaders at all levels to actualize our collective quest to rebuild the PDP and repositioning it to regain power in 2019".

So sad! Ardent LIB reader, Prince Ugochukwu, dies

LIB reader, Prince Ugochukwu Chelsea Nwakanma, died yesterday Monday May 11th. According to his friends, Prince was at work when he slumped and was rushed to the nearest hospital in Lekki but they recommended General hospital instead. Unfortunately, he died before getting to the General hospital on Broad street, Marina. His friends say he was not sick and did not complain of any body pain or headache. Autopsy is in progress to know what killed him. May his soul rest in peace, Amen.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Monday, May 11, 2015 arraigned Uchenna Nwako, Ejikeme Oluchukwu, Nnamani Ikechukwu, Ibeh kodili Martins and Nwako Victoria Ifeoma before Justice D.V Agishir of the Federal High Court, Enugu, on a 16-count charge bordering on intent to defraud and obtaining N26,338,000 by false pretence.
The five accused persons were picked up by EFCC operatives on February 27, 2013 after intelligence reports indicated that they were involved in fraudulent activities bordering on cybercrime.

Part of the charge read: "That you Uchenna Nwako, Ejikme Oluchukwu, Nnamani Ikechukwu, Ibeh Kodili Martins and Nwako Victoria Ifeoma sometime in November 2012 in Enugu, Enugu State within the jurisdiction of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, conspired among yourselves to commit an unlawful act to wit: obtaining money by false pretense and thereby committed an offense contrary to Section 8(a) and punishable under section 1(3) of Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act, 2006.

"That you Nwako Victoria Ifeoma and Uchenna Nwako on or about October 18, 2012 in Enugu, Enugu State within the jurisdiction of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, concealed and disguised the origin of the sum of N8,940,000 which is proceed of an unlawful activity by causing the said money to be paid into the Zenith Bank account number 1013144345 of Ifechina Enterprises Limited, a private limited company jointly owned by both of you, and you thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 15(2)(a) and punishable under Section 15(3) of the Money Laundering Act , 2011 (As Amended)."

They however, pleaded not guilty, when the charges were read to them. In view of their plea, the EFCC counsel, M. A. Ekwu, requested for a date to be fixed for trial of the accused persons to begin. Defence counsel, A. Oyenkwere, however requested bail for his clients, which was opposed by Ekwu. Ekwu argued that only Ikechukwu who had honoured the terms of the administrative bail deserved bail. Ikechukwu was thereafter granted bail in the sum of N1,000,000 with one surety who must be either a seasoned businessman that owns a landed property with a C of O, or a civil servant of Grade Level 15 or above.

The case was adjourned till May 13, 2015 for consideration of the bail application of the other accused persons, who were ordered to be remanded in EFCC custody.

Tiger Woods cheated on ex-girlfriend Lindsey Vonn - the real reason they split

What did she expect? That he would cheat on his wife and won't cheat on her? Duh! According to an Daily Mail report, sex addict Tiger Woods cheated on his ex-girlfriend, Lindsey Vonn. Report below.
When Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn split over a week ago, the Olympic skiier posted on Facebook the explanation that 'both lead incredibly hectic lives that force us to spend a majority of our time apart.'
Daily Mail Online can now exclusively reveal that during one of those 'times apart' Tiger cheated on Lindsey - with a 'faceless, nameless woman', a friend reveals.
'He had a relapse in the sex department,' a close friend reveals to Daily Mail Online. 'Lindsey found out about women again. Always while he's on the road. Just like when he was with Elin.'

'It was after Tiger was eliminated from the San Diego-based Farmer's Insurance Classic in February, somewhere near his old stomping grounds in Southern California,that Tiger had a one night stand, the friend divulged.

He withdrew from Farmer's. You have to understand, while it's not right, it's not really wrong either. Tiger isn't married. He doesn't really drink or do drugs. So what else does he have when he can't afford to lose again? He allowed to find some relief.
'Most men would drink over such losses.Tiger has sex over it. Usually with local hookers whom he pays exorbitant amounts to, probably so they will want repeat business and won't tell.'

Michelle Braun, a former Hollywood madame revealed that between 2006 and 2007 Tiger paid upwards of $40,000 for six 'pay-for-sex dates.'

But this time he was spotted with the woman.

'When Tiger realized he was seen, he became concerned and eventually he decided to confess to Lindsey. Something he didn't do with Elin. He came clean and I give him credit for that.
'Yes, Tiger cheated again. But it wasn't with anyone special. He really wanted Lindsey to be the one. But he blew it again. He can't help himself. He's got an addiction. He relapsed,' says the friend.

'Knowing Tiger, he doesn't even see it as cheating because there's no romance or feeling there. It's just a stress reliever, like a high-ball or two after a bad day.'
The friend tells Daily Mail Online that despite pleas from peers and relatives to keep going to his self-mandated therapy sessions, Tiger stopped going completely -- leading to the alleged 'one-time slip'.
 
But that 'one-time slip' was enough to send Vonn, 30, packing. 
In fact, she made sure to announce the mutual split right in time to be physically out of the country. She's tour in New Zealand, Chile and Europe before she returning to Vail, Colorado for training in few months.

Vonn, who won her 63rd World Cup race in January is collecting $22 million in endorsement deals and is gearing up to hit the Olympic slopes and promoting her new Lindsey Vonn Foundation to empower young girls.

'Lindsey found out about the cheating the easy way, if there is an easy way. She didn't check his texts. Tiger confessed. He took the opposite strategy he did with Elin and instead of hiding it, he admitted it before getting caught.

'He doesn't even see it as cheating. It's just stress relief. It's hard for him to see that he's bad. Maybe he's not. He's not married to Lindsey. But he also won't get her back. She's another strong woman like Elin who respects herself too much.
'Why would she think her Tiger would change its stripes? She knew what she was in for. She reads the papers. We all read about the blonde table full of women in New York.'

Media reports claimed Tiger was seen going into a Manhattan restaurant last December, only to flirt and eventually leave the with women.

'Lindsey should have known then that Tiger was getting ready to slip, if he'd hadn't already. But then came the Farmer's loss,' reveals the friend.
Cheating wasn't Lindsey's only problem with Tiger.
'She always flew in to be by his side, but he rarely flew to be by her side. A relationship goes both ways. Not just Tiger's way. 

'She started to see how Tiger's really obsessed with himself, his game, making money, controlling everything around him.  The girlfriend takes a back seat. Only golf is front and center.'

'This really started to bother her. She was turning into a golf wife, and she's not. She's an Olympian. Tiger loves her. I'm sure he wished she forgave him when they went to therapy.'
Sources say that a few weeks ago, a fellow golf wife finally succeeded in convincing Lindsey to go with Tiger to therapy, at least once, despite her desire to cut and run. Lindsey reconsidered and ended up taking in one session with Tiger.

The friend reveals Lindsey refused go at first. She said it was his problem. But it was also affecting his game so he begged her. 
'She worried for him. He was hitting bottom maybe, and she wanted to support him. It's how he kept Elin for those extra months. And he did it to Lindsey.' 

Well she refused to go the first time. And then Tiger arranged for a second time and she went. That's when he confessed, but it backfired. 
'She didn't walk out of the session but she walked out on him.'
'I mean, these things happen. It's like falling in love with a rock star or an NBA player. It's going to happen. Mistakes are going to be made.
'But Lindsey is not like Elin, the long-suffering wife who will turn a blind eye. She knew that one relapse could lead to two and three and then he's off to the races.'
The source explained that Tiger's transgressions and self obsessions were two problems Lindsey had with Tiger. There was a third.

She thought he was a bit of a bore. She's right. He's sometimes very boring to be around. He's got nothing going on in his head sometimes, besides himself. The joke is he doesn't even have to be that good in bed because women see him like a rock star. Maybe he's even boring in bed because women throw themselves at him.'

Unbelievable! Baby buried alive by parents is rescued after surviving 8 days in cemetery

A newborn baby has been found alive after being buried for 8 days in a cemetery in the mountains of Guangxi province in southern China by his parents who were disappointed after he was born with a cleft lip.

According to Mail Online, the baby boy was miraculously discovered after a middle-aged woman identified as Lu Fenglian heard his cry while she was collecting herbs for Chinese medicine around the mountains filled with unmarked graves. She was shocked to hear the crying sounds and believing the mountain to be haunted by some evil spirits, she ran to a Buddhist temple close by for help.


A priest at the temple followed her and after listening to the sound, was convinced that it was the sound of a crying child. He immediately called in the police who dug the area and rescued the baby.

The child was buried just five centimeters below the earth surface in a cardboard box. Police also found blankets and other items of clothing inside the box. The baby was rushed to the Tian Dong County People's Hospital where he received emergency medical treatment.

One of the nurses attending to him said that when the baby arrived at the hospital he was in a very bad condition and he had to be kept in an incubator for several days. He vomited thick black substance that doctors reported was dirt that he had been swallowing while underground.

Many believe the baby was able to survive because rainwater provided him with sufficient moisture.

The parents of the baby have been traced following the discovery, and have been revealed to be a young couple from nearby Siping Village in Ping Ma town. They are yet to be arrested but the police have made several arrest including the baby's grandmother and three other relatives.
