| PDP Sets Up Post-Election Assessment Committee Posted: 03 May 2015 01:20 PM PDT  The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party has constituted a Post-Election Assessment Committee to review and evaluate the performance of the PDP in the just concluded 2015 general elections and make recommendations for the repositioning of the party. Membership of the committee is as follows: 1.Sen. Ike Ekweremadu (Chairman). 2. H. E. Gov. Godswill Akpabio 3. H. E. Gov. T.A. Orji 4.H.E. Gov. Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo 5.Chief. Nyeson Wike 6. Mal. Ibrahim Shekarau 7. Engr. Abdulkadir Kure 8.Hon. Emeka Ihedioha 9. Mr. Abba Moro 10. Alh. Adamu Waziri 11. Sen. Ahmed Moh Makarfi 12. Chief Makanjuola Ogundipe 13. Chief Pegba Otemolu 14. Mrs. Funmi Ayoola 15. Sen. Walid Jibril- - Member/Secretary. The committee is to be inaugurated on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at the PDP National Secretariat, Abuja. | Woman gives birth same day as Kate Middleton for the 2nd time Posted: 03 May 2015 12:32 PM PDT   Unlike the princess, Monika gave birth to her daughter Aurelia, at home in Birmingham with the help of her Husband at 1:47 am on Saturday May 2nd. Paramedics arrived shortly after baby Aurelia's birth to take both mother and baby to hospital for monitoring. About 7 hours after she had announced the birth of her child, family and friends started to send messages to let her know that the Duchess had also had her baby on the same day. She was stunned because she had given birth to her 2nd child on the same day as Prince George.
It was the second time the 35-year-old has given birth on the same day as Kate with her first child, Liliana, born on July 22, 2013, the same day as Prince George.  She said 'When I got pregnant, people joked that it could happen but we thought it was so unlikely we forgot all about it. 'It feels amazing to have two children who share royal births, it is just fantastic. It will definitely be a story for my two little girls to tell all their friends when they are grown up.'  According to Bookmakers Ladbrokes, the odds of Monika giving birth on the same day as the Duchess of Cambridge for the second time was almost two million to one and she beat it! | ||

Posted: 03 May 2015 11:04 AM PDT  My boyfriend of 5 years is about clocking 35 and I was thinking of throwing him a surprise birthday party with all the trappings befitting a king that he is to me but my sisters will not hear of it. They say they agree that he loves me and all that but until a man puts a ring on my finger, he is still a stranger and should not be given such a treatment such as a surprise party. I am not happy with their position and I am kind of worried if they are right and I am wrong? Please your candid opinion please. | ||

However, a very careful examination of the inherent breaches in the procedures adopted in the convening of the meeting as well as the content and tone of its resolution shows an orchestration by a few individuals bent on sowing a seed of discord within the PDP fold in the zone. This is evident in the fact that the said communiqué in no way reflected the views of majority of those who attended the meeting, neither did it tally with the opinion of the generality of our party members in the region. It is indeed undermining and a clear breach of protocol the fact that a meeting of some leaders of the zone would be convened to discuss issues of the party's Presidential campaigns and the highest-ranking national officers of the party from the zone were excluded. This is in continuation of the apparent marginalization of the National Working Committee and the party structure at all levels in the handling of the Presidential campaigns. Moreso, even some of those who attended the meeting were not privy to the agenda and the eventual content of the communiqué issued at the end. In view of the above therefore, it will be absolutely unpatriotic and against the wishes and aspirations of majority of our party members from the southwest through whose mandate we occupy the offices of the National Secretary and the National Auditor respectively, if we concede to the demands in the communiqué, especially given the fact that as elected members of the National Working Committee, our positions have a tenure which lasts until March 2016. Moreover, members of the PDP in Osun State, my primary constituency, have already passed a vote of confidence on me in my capacity as the National Secretary. Furthermore, while some of those asking us to resign performed very poorly even in their polling units, it is on record that the National Auditor and my humble self performed creditably and delivered our areas in the general elections. It is therefore disheartening that rather than joining other well-meaning members of our great party in supporting the National Working Committee in the on-going re-engineering process to rebuild the PDP, some elders from our zone, particularly, a former Deputy National Chairman, Chief Olabode George, who should know, have instead resorted to divisive politics by attempting to instigate our members against one another. What our party needs now in the southwest and indeed across the country is for all hands to be on the deck as we work harmoniously in our determination to reposition the PDP to regain power in 2019. Our party members are by this therefore charged to watch out for individuals whose agenda is to sow seeds of discord and pave way for crisis within our fold for their selfish interests. The National Working Committee is now more than ever before determined to rebuild the PDP and restore its glory as the preeminent political party in Nigeria. This resolve is irrevocable and we shall not allow ourselves to be distracted in anyway by any person under any guise whatsoever. Signed: Prof. Adewale Oladipo National Secretary | ||
| Decorator catches ghostly doctor on camera while exploring haunted hospital Posted: 03 May 2015 07:25 AM PDT  21 year old decorator Jamie-Leigh Brown, who was exploring a derelict hospital was left stunned after a photo she took in the spooky building appeared to show the ghostly figure of a doctor. Jamie-Leigh was walking the abandoned corridors of St Thomas's Hospital in Stockport - which closed down in 2004 after treating thousands of psychiatric patients over the years - when she took the chilling picture above. She did not check the photo at the time as she and her and friends were too concerned with the footsteps they were hearing above them - despite the hospital having no usable staircases.  The group became spooked and fled the building after only a few minutes and it was not until later that Ms Brown discovered the haunting figure lurking in the background of the shot. She told The Sun: 'It freaked me out. It's standing in a lift shaft. It's really creepy to think my friend was just heading towards the area where the ghost was. We'd only gone into the workhouse for a laugh and to look around. We kept hearing noises above us like shuffling and footsteps but hadn't actually seen anything.'  The derelict building was once a Victorian workhouse known as The Grubber and three years ago it featured in an episode of paranormal investigation show Most Haunted. Other sightings of ghoulish figures have been made at the site, including a 'radiant woman dressed as a nurse or a nun' according to paranormaldatabase.com - a website that lists reports of ghosts. |
