Dear people whose job it is to get rid of corpses from our roads, there's one now at New Road bus stop, Lekki Epe Express way. The body has been there since morning. The police was called this afternoon and they promised to come remove the body but it's still there, only now, it's been covered with a blue cloth.

Heat wave in India kills over 500 people

Soaring temperatures have gripped parts of southern and northern India in an extreme heat wave which has killed more than 500 people and looks set to continue this week, officials said on Monday.

The hottest place in India was Allahabad, a city in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh, which saw mercury rise to 47.7 degrees Celsius (117.8 Fahrenheit) on Sunday, while the capital Delhi recorded a high of 43.5C (110.3F).


Most of the 539 recorded deaths have been of construction workers, the elderly or the homeless in the southern states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, said officials, but some deaths have also occurred in Uttar Pradesh, Odisha and West Bengal.
The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a red warning to affected regions saying that the heat wave conditions are likely to continue over coming days.
Director of Andhra Pradesh's Disaster Management Department K. Dhananjaya Reddy said 325 people had died of sunstroke or dehydration in the state in the last three days.

"We are advising people not to go to work between 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.," said Reddy. "We have also opened centers in different places specially in urban areas for the distribution of water and butter milk."
The government has canceled the leave of all doctors as hospitals were being flooded with cases of heat-stroke, he said, adding that compensation of 100,000 rupees ($1,575) will be given to families of people who had died.

While in the neighboring state of Telangana, where 204 people have died, officials have advised people to stay indoors during peak afternoon hours, drink plenty of fluids and wear loose clothing.

Taxi drivers in Kolkata - capital of West Bengal state where four deaths have been reported - refused to work between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. after two cabbies died in their cars last week.

Dear LIB Readers: How do you cope with a cheating husband?

I am positive my story is just one in a hundred similar stories. but I really do need to know how one deals with a husband who constantly cheats regardless.
I have been married for a little over four years. I have two kids. Its the same story of constant cheating in the years we have been married but it took a twist some few days ago. Cheating is almost a norm with men these days. and I took mine as my own cross.
Of course i had prayed, nagged, pleaded, sucked about it. but I had to let live and focus on giving my kids the best of me. 
 
I concluded that if it didnt happen under my nose, then I can pretend it isn't happening and live my life without the threat of high blood pressure because of a man. But what I feared most happened. It happened right beneath my nose.
 
My husband of four years decided to bring his escapade into the estate where we live. I had been suspecting he had something to do with the sister of one of  the residents. i let my fear ride till I got absolute proof they were involved.
 
What got me so pissed was the fact that he would take the girl in question and her nieces shopping. take out to places where I dint even know he could afford. yet, this is a man that I cant remember the last time he took his family out or bought his kids provision. I was livid! things hadn't being right for us financially for a while and  i was supporting him in everyway I could. I work too so I carried a lot  of the house running cost thinking he was saving his salary for rent and school fees. it wasn't until the landlord starting calling and the school sent letters home that I knew neither had been paid.
so learning and confirming the one of the girls he runs around with lives right under my nose threw me over the edge.
 
I went to confront her with the ploy of wanting to buy gas from her sister who she resides with.
when she came out, I asked her if she knew my  hubby and why she was hurting a fellow woman so.  I expected her to be a remorseful.  instead, she ran her mouth. I was shocked she would have the guts to pour insults on me! I thought to myself that the girl is beneath me.I cant stand and trade words with her. but I had to deal with her. fortunately, I had on a  solid leather belt. I removed it and before she knew what hit her, I lashed her thoroughly. neighbours came to  her rescue and  she ran inside the house. naturally, I confronted my hubby when he came back. he denied it and then got angry with me. before I knew it, he got violent.
 
So now, I got beat up by my hubby because I confronted him and his lover. am lost. sad. hurt. angry. I don't know what to do. to stay or to walk? will I ever get past the hurt I feel now? can I ever forgive him of the humiliation? because I discovered after I confronted and lashed the idiot girl that most neighbours knew. they had seen them together on several occasions.. apparently, I was even the last to know. am just so fed up. why does it have to be this way?
 
I love this man. I really do. but I am at a crossroad now.

Well, trust people to blame it on the black rapper. Tyga has been accused of introducing his underage girlfriend Kylie Jenner to drugs. The rumour spread over the weekend after Kylie was spotted walking through a street fair in Monaco carrying a Sprite bottle that was colored purple instead of it being clear.

According to what fans are tweeting, it's called 'dirty Sprite' in the 'hood' and it's when you mix Codeine syrup in a Sprite bottle or any soda. It's said to be the drug of choice in the hip hop community. If that's what it really is, then Kris Jenner, you need to come get your child!

We will not vacate Kashamu's residence - NDLEA

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA says it will not vacate the premises of embattled Senator elect, Buruji Kashamu who is wanted for alleged drug related offences in the USA.

NDLEA said this in reaction to an order from a Federal High Court in Lagos today directing officials of the agency to vacate the premises of Kashamu. In a statement signed by its spokesperson, Mitchell Ofoyeju, NDLEA said it has not received the reported court injunction and that the siege is within the law. Read the statement after the cut...


"The NDLEA does not believe that any court will issue an order preventing a government agency from performing its statutory responsibilities in a lawful manner. The agency has therefore refused to be distracted and will continue to maintain presence at the residence. It is advisable that Kashamu respects the law by submitting himself to the due process of the law. The NDLEA wishes to reiterate that his rights like that of other citizens shall be respected and the due process of law followed in this case. The agency is prepared to further increase her public rating and goodwill in the areas of suspect handling, respect for human rights and the rule of law. We are prepared to explore all legal means in handling this case to a logical conclusion. According to official record, Kashamu has been a target of both the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for over 20 years and was further indicted by the Grand Jury in the Northern District of Illinois, United States on heroin trafficking charges" the statement read

Nigerian jailed for 5 years in Cambodia for raping a Norwegian tourist

A 26 year old Nigerian man, Ekwegbalu Ugochukwu Udok, has been sentenced to 5 years in jail by a Municipal court in Cambodia for beating and raping a Norwegian tourist, 27 year old Nodia Ebert, in December 2014. According to the presiding judge, on the day of the incident, the young lady had just stepped out of a night club when she met Udok who pretended to be a taxi driver and asked that she take a ride with him.
"Udok pretended to be a taxi driver, and asked her to take a ride from him. He said that he would bring her to the Okay Boutique Hotel, but instead, he brought her to his rental house. After arriving at his room, he raped her." the presiding judge, Im Vanak said while presiding over the case.
Udok however says he will be appealing the court's judgement at the Cambodia Supreme court
"I believe that the court's verdict was unjust for me, and I cannot accept it. I will bring the case to the Appeal Court." Udok said outside the courtroom.

Court orders NDLEA to vacate Buruji Kashamu's house

Justice Ibrahim Buba of a Federal High Court Lagos has ordered the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) officials to vacate the residence of embattled Senator-elect, Buruji Kashamu in Lekki, Lagos. Justice Buba, while presiding over the case filed by counsel to Kashamu, said the NDLEA should immediately vacate the residence and maintain status quo.

NDLEA had placed Buruji Kashamu on house arrest since Saturday May 23rd after failing to arrest him. The Senator-elect is wanted in the US over alleged drug charges.
