'My soul mate slipped away last night. Rebecca, my wonderful wife, passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London. Their valiant efforts to prolong Rebecca's all-too-short life will not be forgotten.
'Our grief, as a family, is total. We would appreciate being allowed to mourn privately.'

‘Steer clear of party administration’, PDP warns Pres. Jonathan’s aides, associates

Posted: 02 May 2015 05:40 AM PDT

PDP is threatening sanction on president Jonathan's aides and associates who are putting their mouth in what does not concern them. Lol. Read below...
The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has issued a very strong warning to some ambitious aides and associates of President Goodluck Jonathan trying to use their closeness to him to cause crisis in the party and pave way for more defection to other parties.
The PDP said it would expose such individuals and make them face the full weight of the party disciplinary measures if they fail to immediately retrace their steps.

The NWC in a statement signed by the party's National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh said it is "aware of the clandestine activities of such aides and associates of the President including their unholy alliance with some elements in other parties to undermine and weaken the PDP by attacking its leadership.

"The NWC is aware that these same individuals who mismanaged the presidential campaigns are now desperately seeking to cause crisis in the PDP with a view not only to divert attention from their misdeeds but also to ensure that they remained politically relevant by hijacking the party structure for their selfish purposes.

"We are aware that these individuals have been trying to arm-twist the President to summon a meeting of party leaders at the Presidential Villa in the coming days where the NWC members would be put under pressure to resign thereby triggering a crisis in the leadership at the national level.

"The party is aware that the same group has been sponsoring series of amorphous bodies and negative publications in a section of the media to peddle false allegations against the NWC to back their heinous and unconstitutional demands that the President should sack the NWC before the handover date of May 29, 2015.

"However, for the purposes of clarity, especially for those making uninformed demands on the President, the PDP National Working Committee is duly elected and its tenure ends in March 2016 in line with the provisions of the party's constitution. The PDP is a party built on the rule of law and democratic ethos. Its NWC is elected and not appointed and as such cannot be sacked at will or by an executive fiat. Besides, no section of the party constitution prescribes that the NWC should quit if the party loses in a general election.

"Furthermore, the PDP constitution is clear on the process of summoning a meeting of party leaders and the role of the NWC in that regard is well-defined. Anything outside the laid down rules and the provisions of the constitution in this respect is completely of no effect.

"Moreover, President Goodluck Jonathan has amply demonstrated his strict adherence to the rule of law and the tenets of democracy even on issues of party administration and should not in anyway be hassled by these selfish and greedy elements to destroy his legacies.

"Consequently, the leadership of the PDP by this statement makes it very clear and in an unambiguous terms too that it will no longer condone such divisive actions by the same unscrupulous individuals who in their selfishness ruined the fortunes of our great party in the general elections.

"The NWC will no longer tolerate actions that tend to undermine discipline and the supremacy of the party and its constitution, as it will henceforth not hesitate to apply full disciplinary measures for infractions

"Our advice to these ambitious aides and associates of the President is to leave party matters and concentrate on the Presidential transition and smooth handover of power to the incoming administration as well as preparing for post handover issues that might arise regarding the administration in which they served", the party stated.

On the issue of the performance of the party in the general elections and allegations of mismanagement of Presidential campaign funds, the NWC said it has no case to answer, as Nigerians already know the truth regarding those who managed the campaigns including the funds.

"Nigerians are not at loss as to the fact that the PDP NWC did not manage the campaign and its fund. Those who managed the campaigns have already submitted their reports to the President who in his wisdom gave them the mandate and they have been applauded for a job well done at that level", the statement said.

The NWC said it appreciates the support and backing of key stakeholders especially the PDP Governors' Forum, the body of national vice chairmen and state chairmen as well as governors, legislators-elect and all well meaning members in the all important effort to rebuild the party and reposition it to regain power in 2019.

Satellite images show Kim Jong-un's troops carrying out mass executions

Posted: 02 May 2015 04:30 AM PDT

Satellite images show North Korea's leader Kim Jong-un's troops carrying out brutal mass executions using anti-aircraft guns which would leave the bodies 'pulverized'. Sickening pictures have been released by Committee for Human Rights in North Korea that show six anti-aircraft guns used to shoot a line of people, a viewing platform can be seen set up nearby, which is very sickening.

Experts have analysed the photographs which appear to show the Kanggon Military Training Area, close to the capital city Pyongyang, being used as a long-distance firing range.

'Pulverized': A ZPU-4 anti-aircraft gun like the on North Korean troops are thought to have used to execute people
Earlier this year, Kim Jong-un ordered the execution of 15 senior officials including those who complained about his policies, South Korea's intelligence agency said.
Those executed included two vice minister-level officials reports the National Intelligence Service (NIS). Both were punished for opposing or complaining about Kim's directives, the legislators said.

Dear LIB readers; my husband's demands are weird

Posted: 02 May 2015 04:28 AM PDT

From a female LIB reader...
Please I need your advice. My husband is the dearest thing in this world I've ever had! He's so different from most other guys: intelligent, funny, handsome, very muscular and well-built, and is an amazing person. He's also extremely playful. And I love him so much for all these. But there's this part I don't really enjoy: he makes some demands I'm not comfortable with. The two main ones are these: most mornings when we wake up from sleep he would insist we should kiss deeply with our unbrushed "smelly" mouths. The few times I agree, I don't enjoy it at all! Our mouths usually taste very sour then! I can never understand why he likes it but he says his love for me far exceeds my unbrushed mouth! Also when we're eating, he would tell me to pour food I'm chewing in my mouth into his own mouth, even when my saliva has made it so wet and yucky!
Sometimes he just wants me to put plain saliva from my mouth into his own! And he would say it's the same thing that happens when we kiss, but to me they're VERY different. And funny enough, the few times I agree to do these things, he would end up with a very very huge erecti*n and we would end up... But the problem is, when I don't agree, he would say I'm not interested in improving our intimacy, that I'm the only person in this world he can do them with yet I'm denying him the pleasure. The truth is, I don't think I'll ever be comfortable with these things. Please what should I do??? Does my agreeing to do these things really build our intimacy?

I live in Ikoyi – Tenant Ola, I live in Lekki – Landlord Mike

Posted: 02 May 2015 04:11 AM PDT

This is the story of two close friends; both of them want the best life could offer. Ola believes so much in today and whatever the future brings he will manage, Mike believes in the future and whatever today brings he will manage. (A wise man is someone who will not do what others will do now to do what they can't do tomorrow)

Ola and Mike got a well paid job and so they have to live up to it as big boys in town, 5years ago an offer was given to them to buy a piece of land in Lekki for 5m.

They went to inspect the place together while ola did not really love the idea, because he so love ikoyi and want to live there no matter the cost I mean no matter the rental cost (because he can not afford ikoyi mansions). Mike saw his future and keyed in immediately.
5years down the line...........

Ola has paid 5m(year 1) + 5m(year2) + 5m(year3) + 5.5m(year4) + 5.5m(year5) that's 26m in total for his rental apartment.  You will notice the increment in the rent at year4 you can trust a Nigerian landlord in that, they have masters and PhD in Rental Increment.
Mike has paid 5m(the land(year 1)) + 12m(the building(year 2)) + 0(year3) + 0 (year4) + 0(year5) Total of 17m
Today ola is pleading with mike to help him get a land around and you can imagine the cost, its just 22m for tenant ola after spending 25m for rent for 5years.

Photos: Pregnant lady charmed by a one eyed-beggar in a bus in Enugu

Posted: 02 May 2015 02:00 AM PDT

A LIB reader tells a scary and interesting story of something he witnessed in Enugu and backed it up with photos. Things are really happening. We all need to be careful out there. Read story below...
Two days back, being Wednesday, on my way back from school, I witnessed something extra-ordinary. If you are familiar with Enugu metropolis, this happened at MSP bus-stop, the one before IMT gate(Institute of Management and technology). As I was walking home approaching the bus-stop to enter a bus, one bus swerved in front of me and people started jumping down from the bus and each person that came down began crying. They were saying a pregnant woman who was in the bus was being charmed and made dumb by a one-eyed beggar who was also in the bus.

As was narrated by one of the occupants who was weeping, she said the pregnant woman who had entered the bus before the the one-eyed beggar had answered a call on her phone and a few bus-stops later, the one eyed beggar who was obviously identified as a beggar because of his music instrument entered the bus. When the pregnant woman wanted to then get down at her destination, she couldn't speak again, she tried motioning to the driver but the one eyed-beggar who sat beside her told the conductor that they haven't gotten to their destination and that the pregnant woman was his wife and that she was dumb. This caused confusion in the bus as some occupants of the bus had earlier seen her answer a call and also knew she didn't enter the bus together with the beggar. The driver then stopped the bus and as the occupants got down and narrated what happened in the bus to the crowd that had obviously gathered cause of the alarm they raised, the beggar still insisted the pregnant woman was dumb and was his wife.

As people were suggesting to take them to the police station, the man in yellow who you'll see in one of the attached pictures rushed the beggar and began punching him and flogging him with his belt telling him to confess and say the truth. Before i knew what was happeneing, more peole including angry drivers, conductors, students and passer-bys who were obviously pissed by the grid-lock the commotion has generated on the road because of the crowd joined to beat the beggar. After about 5mins of beating, one of the men beating the beggar brought car oil and poured on the beggar and threatened that if he didn't confess that he'l be set ablaze. That was when the man confessed that he touched the woman with his ring.

They asked if he could un-do it and he said yes. He removed the ring from his finger and touched the pregnant woman's fore-head and she regained her speech. I was shocked and dumb-founded. I had never seen such or believed such things existed. After seeing the pregnant woman regain her speech, the crowd then began the real jungle justice on the beggar, they beat and kicked him the more and called him a "heartless ritualist who wanted to use a pregnant woman and her unborn child for blood money". Mean-while the pregnant woman who had regained her speech wasn't acting normal. She had lost total memory and the only name she could remember was that of her sister which someone among the crowd collected the pregnant's woman's phone and retrieved the sister's number from her contact list and called her sister to inform her.

The police luckily arrived before the man could be set ablaze and everyone took to their heels. The few brave ones stayed behind to find out what the out-come would be and on interrogation by the police, the beggar confessed that the woman was his wife and accomplice and that he was supposed to touch her with the ring and make her dumb so she could join him in his beginning business. He said he touched her with it and she went dumb but that it also affected her memory and she couldn't realise where she was or what was happening which made her motion around like someone in distress inside the bus. While he was being questioned by the police by the side of the road, the pregnant woman sat by his side and didn't utter a word. Some said she lost her speech again. Some said she regained her memory and realized her game was up and quietly shut-up. The police later took both of them away with the beggar holding the ring in his hand. The pictures and videos of the beating, the pregnant woman and the one-eyed beggar are attached in the attachment.

'Our artists now invent lies' - Etcetera comes for Burna Boy in new article

Posted: 02 May 2015 04:03 AM PDT

Singer Etcetera and these his colleagues...lol. He comes for them again in new article. Read below...
Ladies and gentlemen, you are welcome to the new game in town. For better or for worse, our music "industry" is embracing a new form of art. The focus has shifted almost entirely from making music to something else. Now the transition is finally complete and the sync word here is LIE. In Nigeria today, every artist needs a "lying" platform – or three, to reach their target audience. Years back, radio used to be the dominant "platform" for breaking new artists, you may say it is still important, but the radio is certainly no longer the only game in town. It is becoming simply too limited, too expensive and too difficult to control to be the sole platform. A better and surer way to expose the artist to the public has been discovered. Now the artist with the biggest LIE has the bigger and better head start.
The Nigerian music "industry" has now brought a vast array of gifted liars. We have seen managers lying blatantly about the activities of their artistes just to be noticed. So far, it is working for them here in Nigeria. Our gullibility has made it too easy to become an artist here in Nigeria. What was your reactions when Burna Boy tweeted about his new songwriting deal with Universal Music Group? Did you notice how the blogs went gaga congratulating him? If truly Burna Boy got a deal, why didn't Universal Music Group issue a statement to that effect? Well, strange stuff has happened.
Isn't the Nigerian music "industry" at risk with this lying game taken to this new level? Is it no longer worth noting that the actual quality of the artist's songs should be a predominating factor in a decision to recruit him as a songwriter? Why are we acting as if we don't know that Burna's songs won't find many readily available patronisers outside the shores of Nigeria? If they do, they can only be appreciated by only a few Nigerians. Even in cases where there is a proven audience for a particular artiste's work, it is not enough to make it a big deal to corner a deal. As a musician reading this article, would you approach Burna Boy to write you a song? Judging by what you've heard from him so far! If you can't, why would a foreign company with a long list of songwriters employ him as a songwriter?

One reason why there are no record labels in Nigeria is that a lot of our music stakeholders are sentimental in their approach to the business. The guys at Universal are not jokers. They are strictly in it for the money. They don't attach sentiments to their dealings. They know that songwriting is not actually a business. There's no financial element attached to songwriting in itself. It is the job of the music publisher to turn the song into something that can generate income. Can Burna's song guarantee the kind of financial returns we are talking about here? How many CDs has he sold in Nigeria as an artist? I am not talking of the free downloads of singles on blogs, but the copies of actual albums he has sold. How many people have his album in their homes? The pink and brown contract sneaked up on us on instagram could have been printed at Oluwole. Until Universal Music Group authenticates these claims, everything Burna has said could not be true. It is a shame that Nigerian journalists will never see it necessary to investigate any issue before plastering it all over their platforms. I was on set on Nigezie, shooting the Etcetera Live TV show when the producer asked if I heard about Burna Boy's new deal with Universal Records. Right there and then, I went online and checked the authenticity of the story. The first thing I checked was if Universal Music Group issued any statement to that effect. I wasn't surprised that the story could only be found on Nigerian websites. The websites of Universal in America, South Africa and other countries had nothing suggesting they have anything with Burna Boy. Their facebook pages said nothing too. There is an official statement on every deal they have made. It is the norm with every recording company in the world. You employ a songwriter who is like a talent magnet; a record maker. Someone who brings forth the talent in the singer. Someone whose role is to write songs that define the artistes and give them a reason for existence and you keep that under the carpet? It doesn't make any sense. The truth is, there's no song of Burna that suggests he is anywhere close to being the kind of songwriter we are talking about here. This guy sounds like he doesn't want anyone to pick out his lines.

Finally, it is very important for all those with music interest to note that in this new LIE eco-system of ours, there are three things a musician needs, and his success or failure can be predicted almost entirely on the basis of how many of these three things are in place. If you can provide a clean sweep of three out of three, like Burna Boy, you'll likely be signing a record deal with Universal Music Group even without being able to hold your notes vocally. If you've got two out of three, you will probably get an offer, like some other artistes have claimed at different times. Though it might not be exactly the deal you were hoping for. Bring only one out of three and the best you can hope for is a polite invitation to come back sometime in the distant future. So here are the three things every Nigerian will pay for – the essential components to a successful "Music Career" – 1.LIE, 2.LIE and 3.LIE!

Gossiping is good for you

When you think about a secret, you use up motivational resources which can drain your energy and make simple tasks appear difficult. Telling a secret to someone you trust can help restore motivation.
Researchers say a secret can preoccupy your mind and the more you think about it, the more you use personal, intellectual and motivational resources.
'Being preoccupied by a secret at work can be demotivating,' said Michael Slepian, an adjunct assistant professor of negotiations at Columbia Business School and co-author of the study. 'The burden of secrecy can make things around you appear more challenging and if you're less motivated to tackle these challenges, your performance can suffer.'

As part of the study, scientists performed a series of experiments to assess the effect secrets had on a subject's ability to judge the steepness of a hill.

Those that dubbed their secrets as preoccupying judged the hill to be steeper than it actually was.
'This is the same kind of outcome we see when people are carrying physical burdens, seeing the world as more challenging, forbidding and extreme,' added Slepian.

The defined a preoccupying secret as one that causes daily concern and may be related to more serious life-altering issues like money, sexual orientation or a health concern, the researchers said.
According to the study, one of the best ways to gain back your productivity is to simply get the burden off of your chest.

But, Slepian said, that doesn't mean you should star immediately airing your dirty laundry.
He said it's important to remember that revealing the secret to the wrong person could do more harm than good.
For those without a confidant, anonymous hotlines provide a way to reveal the secret, while keeping your identity a secret.
Another option if you cannot state the secret out loud is to simply write it down.
For example, posting the secret on an online message board or a website that shares submissions confidentially, or hand writing the secret in a personal journal can help, the researchers added.
Either way, Slepian argues there may be both physical and psychological benefits to getting a secret off your chest.

MEN ARE THE BIGGEST GOSSIPS
Modern men cannot keep a secret - and are now worse gossips than women, according to a study last year.
Researchers found that, contrary to the assumption that women can't wait to spill the beans, it is men who are first to pass on confidential information.
Thanks to social media, men no longer wait to see their mates in the pub and typically share a secret within three hours, the study found.
And almost half of men admit to blabbing about a secret within minutes of first being told about it.
In comparison, women will keep it to themselves for at least three and a half hours before passing it on.
The study by The Fifth Estate found that the average man will keep a secret to themselves for around two hours and 47 minutes - almost 40 minutes less than women.
More than one in ten guys even admitted to blabbing someone's private secret within 10 minutes or less of first finding out about it.
Despite this, 92 per cent of men consider themselves to be good at keeping secrets

Pay our salary: Nigeria Medical Association tells Governor Rauf Aregbesola

Posted: 02 May 2015 01:36 AM PDT

The Nigeria Medical Association has accused Osun State Governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, of withholding workers salaries.

According to Punch Metro, The Chairman of NMA Action Committee in the state, Dr. R.A. Adebayo, said in a letter to the governor and a copy of which was made available to our correspondent in Osogbo on Friday, that the governor had collected up to March, 2015 allocation but he refused to pay doctors and other workers.

NMA also alleged that Aregbesola had deliberately made himself unavailable for dialogue with the association over this plaguing problem.

It said a meeting called at the instance of the state Head of Service with the National President of NMA, Dr. Kayode Obembe, and the Chairman of NMA in Oyo State branch, Dr. M.B Olatunji, based on the ultimatum given to Osun State Government led to many "discoveries."

The association said, "Despite the non-payment of six months salaries to doctors and other civil servants in Osun, contractors and political office holders have been the beneficiaries of the available revenue accrued to our state from the federation account.

"Our association therefore concluded that the non-payment of six months salaries to our members as well as other civil servants is not a matter of government inability but unwillingness to pay."
The NMA, however, accused the governor of paying political appointees who they said earned jumbo pay while workers who were paid peanuts were left to suffer.

The association therefore called on Aregebsola to pay workers' salaries without further delay, saying the governor should be held responsible for any action taken by doctors if their salaries were not paid.
