| Pic: Masturbating men ‘will find their hands pregnant in the afterlife’- Muslim televangelist Posted: 25 May 2015 01:13 PM PDT  Self-styled televangelist Mücahid Cihad Han dived into some delicate matters on May 24 when he answered his viewers' questions on private television station 2000 TV, Turkish media has reported. Han initially looked puzzled when a viewer said he 'kept masturbating, although he was married, and even during the Umrah," a pilgrimage to Mecca performed by Muslims which can be undertaken at any time of the year, in contrast to the Hajj. After repeating the question a few times, Han claimed that Islam strictly prohibits masturbation as a "haram" (forbidden) act. "Moreover, one hadith states that those who have sexual intercourse with their hands will find their hands pregnant in the afterlife, complaining against them to God over its rights," he said, referring to what he claimed to be a saying of Prophet Muhammad. "If our viewer was single, I could recommend he marry, but what can I say now?" the televangelist added, advising the viewer to "resist Satan's temptations." Is masturbation forbidden in Islam? "Istimna," the Arabic term for masturbation that Han also referred to, is a controversial issue in Islam, as there have been varying opinions on its permissibility throughout history. The Quran has no clear reference to masturbation and the authenticity of many hadiths is questionable. Despite Han's assertive religious stance, only a limited number of Islamic interpretations categorize masturbation as "haram," while most of others call it a "makruh" (disliked) act. Many of the mainstream Islamic interpretations even allow it in certain conditions, like if the act could be used to avoid the temptation of an extramarital affair. Han, who has more than 12,000 followers on Twitter, was mocked on Turkish social media on May 25, after newspapers published his latest television "fatwa." "Are there any hand-gynaecologists in the afterlife? Is abortion allowed there?" one Twitter user asked, while mentioning Han's Twitter user name. From what my course mates are saying this is the baby, the bigger ones come out only once in a while. We now move around with sticks and matches at night in case of any attack."  |

| Press statement on the travails of Buruji Kashamu by PILL Posted: 25 May 2015 09:58 AM PDT  The siege laid to the home of Buruji Kashamu by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the Nigeria Police is nearing its fourth day.
The dictates and the demands of the law are not too onerous to be complied with by statutory agencies and persons charged with the responsibility of protecting its sanctity, rather than the recourse to might, power and the bullying tactics reminiscent of the military that Buruji Kashamu is today experiencing at the behests of the afore-mentioned statutory authorities. That Buruji Kashamu is wanted in the United States of America for drug related charges doesn't make him any less a citizen of Nigeria that must be hounded and stripped of the fundamental liberties guaranteed by Sections 34, 35, 37 and 41 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,1999. Buruji Kashamu, whatever the substance of the criminal charge against him in the United States of America, is a Nigerian citizen and his rights must be defended against the totalizing power of the United States of America, the same way the United States of America consistently defended the likes of Dick Cheney who were fingered in the notorious Halliburton bribe scandal, acting through our own statutory agencies such as National Drug Law Enforcement Agency. If the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, through the AGF, has any extradition request from the United States of America, the proper thing the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency should do is to secure a warrant of arrest against Buruji Kashamu and institute extradition proceedings before the High Court of Justice. We are at pain as to finding the legal basis for the current siege laid by narcotics and security operatives to the home of Buruji Kashamu, contrary to Section 37 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999. The statement credited to the Attorney-General of the Federation, which is to the effect that the United States of America's request for extradition of Buruji Kashamu makes the ongoing siege to the home of Buruji Kashamu legal, is utterly ludicrous. Extradition request does not serve as a warrant of arrest! We note, based on what is already discernible from the public media space, that the government of the United States of America attempted twice to secure the extradition of Buruji Kashamu from the United Kingdom and twice it failed. We ask: does the government of the United States of America have new, fresh and compelling evidence to establish basis for its renewed extradition request to the Nigerian government? If it does, why have our narcotics and security operatives adopted the bullying, gestapo-style tactics that suggest the sinister motive of attempts to kidnap Citizen Kashamu by any means other than legal? If there are new, fresh and compelling facts and evidence, let the Attorney-General of the Federation present them to the scrutiny of our laws and our court. For us, we join other voices to condemn the actions of our narcotics and security operatives. Let it be known that we will join to defend the rights of Buruji Kashamu whenever and wherever extradition proceedings are instituted against him. "Prof. Osinbajo is aware that the $63.7 billion is made up of external and domestic debts belonging not only to the Federal Government but to federal and state governments and accumulating since the 1960s, yet he deliberately misrepresented the facts to give the unsuspecting public the impression that the amount was exclusively incurred by the current Federal Government. "Perhaps the Vice President-elect avoided the details so as not to expose the fact that the APC controlled Lagos state has both the highest external debt stock of $1,169, billion as well as the highest domestic debt stock of N278, 867 billion. "Furthermore we find it unacceptable and unstatesmanly for the Vice President-elect to attempt to mislead Nigerians into believing that the total federal debt component was accumulated under the President Goodluck Jonathan-led administration, when it is on record that a greater chunk of the amount was inherited", the statement said. The party said it was also on record that part of the contemporary borrowing from the domestic bond market was occasioned by the global economic and financial crisis as well as the downturn in crude oil revenue, which adversely affected other economies of the world. Berating the in-coming administration for dwelling on excuses and reneging on campaign promises, the PDP wondered if the APC and the President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari did not know about the economic challenges caused by the dwindling oil revenues before making their bogus promises to Nigerians. "The APC must fulfill its promises for which Nigerians voted for them. Were they not aware of the debt stock and the dwindling oil revenues before making their huge promises to the people? Were the promises only intended as carrots to mislead the people and deceitfully win their votes after which they are dumped?" the PDP queried. The party said the in-coming administration should stop contriving excuses and understand that Nigerians expect nothing short of the fulfillment of its campaign promises in its four years rule, especially given that the solid foundation for wealth creation has already been laid by the PDP, which also remained truthful and honest in making promises to the people during the campaigns. The PDP said "come June ending, the APC must be ready to commence in a very transparent manner, the payment of monthly N5,000 to 25 million poor Nigerians from across the country, monthly allowances for discharged but yet to be employed youth corps members as well as commence delivery of free meals to school children among other promises". Posted: 25 May 2015 09:22 AM PDT  Chris Brown is at war with his baby mama, who claims he's stopped paying the measly $2,500 a month in child support, and now she's gunning for 6 times that. Multiple sources connected with the couple tell TMZ, Chris has been paying baby Royalty's mom, Nia Guzman, the $2,500, but the gravy train stopped in March. Our Chris sources say he stopped paying because Nia demanded $15k a month, which he thinks is ridiculous. We're told Chris says Nia's treating the baby like a winning lottery ticket, but she claims he's being incredibly cheap and their daughter is suffering as a result. We're told Nia's lawyer, Carl Moore, will be filing legal docs in the next 2 weeks demanding back child support and a huge monthly hike. We're hearing rumblings of settlement. |
| Forensic audit to be carried out on all Rivers State Govt Accounts - Wike Posted: 25 May 2015 09:11 AM PDT  Rivers State Governor-Elect, Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has declared that his administration will carry out a forensic audit of all government accounts to ensure the recovery of all resources stolen by top officials of the out-going administration in the state. This is even as he declared that all those who participated in the use of N4.5bllion to conduct illegal local government elections by the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission, RSIEC, will be brought to justice and made to account.He said RSIEC embarked on the illegal local government elections despite the court stopping the election. Speaking on Monday while receiving the interim report of the Transition Committee led by Deputy Governor Tele Ikuru, Barrister Wike said the days of impunity and massive corruption are over in Rivers State. He said Rivers State will be a test case in the fight against corruption, noting that a comprehensive approach in fighting corrupt elements in the outgoing administration will be adopted to entrench fiscal discipline in the state. "I am not going to be intimidated. The only way we can work together is to check the ills of the past. The right thing must be done. Those who have stolen the resources of the state must be made to account. "I have the political will to drive the process to its logical conclusion. The massive stealing of government resources was a deliberate attempt to create problems for the incoming administration ", Wike said. The governor-elect added that all the back-dated appointments and certificates of occupancy being hurriedly issued by outgoing governor Amaechi will be set aside. He said all the top officials of Amaechi administration who have refused to cooperate in the interest of Rivers State during the transition period will soon cooperate whether they like it or not. According to him : "Those who have closed the courts will be the same persons rushing to the courts when we open the courts". Earlier, Chairman of the Transition Committee and Deputy Governor, Engineer Tele Ikuru recommended that the new administration should carry out forensic audit of all accounts in view of massive looting by officials of the out-going administration. He said that Governor Rotimi Amaechi and top officials of his administration refused to cooperate with the committee for a smooth transition. The deputy governor urged the governor-elect to work towards restoring basic services in the state. The terrorist who is also an Amir by status and believed to be of foreign descent, is among about 30 terrorist fighters who died in the encounter while many others fled with wounds. The terrorists also lost a number weapons and equipment including the captured 13 rifles, a machine gun, rocket propelled grenade tubes and several other assorted ammunition. A Toyota Bufallo vehicle was also recovered from the terrorists. Two of their armored vehicles were also destroyed in the battle. The only casualty on the side of own troops was damaged equipment. Mopping up operations is ongoing in the general area. Meanwhile, the offensive on all terrorists' hideouts is continuing in many fronts.        |

At the meeting, the oil marketers agreed that the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) should immediately revoke the license of any oil marketer that refuses to lift petroleum products across Nigeria. Members of PENGASSAN, NUPENG, MOMAN, IPMAN and all other officials also addressed the press where they affirmed the resolutions and agreement and called off their strike action as well. |
