Posted: 02 Sep 2015 01:13 PM PDT

Remember the pics of Ekiti state workers begging on their knees that went viral? Well, Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, has pardoned the 31 civil servants who resumed late to work that day. According to Punch, the governor announced this at a meeting with public servants in Ado Ekiti
"I am begging workers to get to work on time. If we are paying salaries on time, then civil servants must also reciprocate by coming to work on time. Also, people must be ready to pay rates, taxes and levies. If civil servants are paying taxes, others should pay as well. Our IGR must improve." he said at the meeting today...

OJ Simpson sad in prison because all his female fans have stopped sending him cash

Posted: 02 Sep 2015 01:06 PM PDT

Disgraced NFL star O.J. Simpson has fallen even further behind bars! RadarOnline learned he recently had an epic prison meltdown, complaining bitterly to pals that female fans are no longer sending money for goodies.

Simpson is currently serving up to 33 years in prison at Lovelock Correctional Facility, in Nevada for kidnapping and armed robbery.

Recently, an insider told Radar, "O.J. has called friends begging for money to de deposited into his commissary account!"

"In the first few years, O.J. was in prison, there was a steady stream of letters and money from women," the source said.

"His family is responsible for replenishing the commissary account, but it's not a huge priority for his kids. And O.J. just isn't getting the letters and money from women anymore. He needs that money because he also uses it to keep other inmates happy and off his back," the source continued.

In fact, earlier this year, prison officials broke up a fight between Simpson, and a white supremacist, resulting in sex offender, Travis Waugh, being transferred to another correctional facility.

Meanwhile, Simpson's health "continues to worsen, and he always complains that he isn't getting proper medical attention," the source said.

Titanic's last menu goes for auction more than a century after it sank

Posted: 02 Sep 2015 09:59 AM PDT

More than a century after the luxury cruise liner sank in the Atlantic Ocean on April 15, 1912, after striking an iceberg during its maiden voyage from Southampton, England, to New York, the ship's last luncheon menu is going up for auction.

According to a report by Reuters, the curator said on Monday that it is expected to fetch up to $70,000. The luncheon menu will be auctioned on September 30 by Invaluable, a live online auction house, along with a letter written by one of the ship's survivors and a ticket from the Titanic's Turkish baths weighing chair, used to measure a person's weight.

Tuesday, September 1 marks 30 years since the wreckage of the ship, which had been dubbed unsinkable, was discovered on the ocean floor by a team of researchers.
"This is not an anonymous artifact from an anonymous survivor," said David Lowenherz, owner of Lion Heart Autographs, the rare manuscripts dealer behind the auction. "There's such a story behind the history of the boat and the people who were in it and how their lives were affected by the event," he added.
The menu was saved by first-class passenger Abraham Lincoln Salomon and is signed on the back by Isaac Gerald Frauenthal, a passenger from New York who likely had eaten lunch with Salomon that day. Stamped with a date of April 14, 1912, and the White Star Line logo, the menu also included corned beef; mashed, fried and baked jacket potatoes; a buffet of fish, ham and beef; an apple meringue pastry; and a selection of eight cheeses.

Clerk in gay marriage fight still refusing to give marriage licenses to same sex couples

Posted: 02 Sep 2015 09:47 AM PDT

Kim Davis, a 44 year old Rowan County clerk, is refusing to surrender in a battle over who can and can't be wed. She invoked "God's authority" on Tuesday as she defied a series of federal court orders and once again denied marriage licenses to same-sex couples.

Since the Supreme Court legalized gay marriage across the nation, couples have stood in her office and wept. They have shouted and called her a bigot. They have tried to reason with her.

But Davis, who usually wears a skirt that reaches her ankles and her hair to her waist, refuses to relent, even under the threat of a contempt of court charge, steep fines or jail time.
"She has found herself in a situation she never envisioned," said Mat Staver, founder of the Christian law firm Liberty Counsel that is representing Davis in her bid to refuse marriage licenses.

After the Supreme Court's landmark decision in June, Davis announced she would issue no more marriage licenses.

Four couples, two gay and two straight, sued her, arguing she must fulfill her duties as an elected official despite her personal Christian faith. U.S. District Judge David Bunning ordered her to issue the licenses, an appeals court affirmed that order, and the Supreme Court on Monday refused to intervene, leaving her no more legal options.

"It is a heaven or hell decision," she said in a statement.

At the time she repented in the church pew, Davis had been divorced three times, according to court records. Her current husband, Joe Davis, arrived at the courthouse Tuesday to check in on his wife as a protest raged on the courthouse lawn. It's been an ordeal for her, he said. People have threatened to kill her and set their house on fire.
Joe Davis, who described himself as "an old redneck hillbilly," pointed to the rainbow-clad protesters on the opposite side of the lawn.
"They want us to accept their beliefs and their ways," he said. "But they won't accept our beliefs and our ways."
He said he and his wife have been together 19 years, but declined to elaborate on how much of that time they've spent married.

On Tuesday morning, April Miller and Karen Roberts, tailed by television cameras and rival activists, were there when Davis opened her office doors. They hoped Davis would accept that her fight was lost and issue the licenses.

Instead, Davis turned them away. On their way out, Miller and Roberts passed David Ermold and

David Moore, 17 years a couple. "Denied again," Roberts whispered in Moore's ear.

Ermold said he almost wept. They demanded to talk to Davis, who emerged briefly on the other side of the counter.
"We're not leaving until we have a license," Ermold told her.
"Then you're going to have a long day," Davis replied. She retreated into her office, closed the door and shut the blinds as a tense standoff erupted in the office around her. Dozens from both sides of the issue packed into the lobby.
"Do your job," marriage equality activists chanted.
"Stand firm," Davis' supporters shouted back. They compared her to the Biblical figures Paul and Silas, imprisoned for their faith and rescued by God.
But lawyers for the rejected couples, in asking the judge to hold her in contempt of court, requested that she not be sent to jail, and instead be issued a fine "sufficiently serious and increasingly onerous" to "compel her immediate compliance without delay."

Bunning ordered Davis and her six deputy clerks to appear before him Thursday morning (tomorrow) at the federal courthouse in Ashland.

County taxpayers pay Davis $80,000 as the elected clerk. Staver said Tuesday that she does not have a fortune squirreled away somewhere to pay whatever punishment Bunning hands down.

She also refuses to resign.

Hotel guest finds camera hidden in shower linked to caretaker's room

Posted: 02 Sep 2015 09:39 AM PDT

A Travelodge guest found a hidden camera in her shower which was linked by a wire to a cupboard in the hotel hallway. Harmony Hachey, 23, from Edinburgh, was washing in the cubicle when she noticed a small electronic device hidden behind a vent at the Oxford Wheatley Travelodge.

She took a closer look and realised it was a camera which was pointing directly at where she was standing naked in the shower.

Ms Hachey immediately informed the hotel staff, who traced the device to a maintenance cupboard which backs onto the room.
She said: 'I was absolutely disgusted. I got a fork and stuck it in the vent. You could see so clearly it was a camera.
Ms Hachey, a food festival business development executive, had travelled to Oxford with colleagues last Friday as she was working at an event in the area over the bank holiday weekend.
She explained: 'It was on the first of my three nights. We had had a long day at work and went back to the hotel to have a shower.
A receptionist went to investigate and found the camera linked up to a cupboard next door (left)
'I broke down at one point. I just felt so violated.'
'I put all my luggage down, checked into the room, got myself ready for a shower and as I got ready for the shower I noticed a vent next to the shower head.
'It looked a little suspicious to me, like a camera, but I tried to convince myself that I was crazy and that it wasn't the case so I continued to have a shower and got it over as quickly as possible because I wanted to investigate what was in the vent.
'When I got out of the shower I poked around in the vent a little bit and the camera was being held up by white tape and it looked like it was trying to be hidden.

'I pulled the tape away and it was blatantly obvious it was a camera pointing at me while I was showering.'
Trying not to panic, she went to alert hotel staff and asked for a second opinion from her colleagues, who were also staying in the hotel.

She continued:
'The manager came down to the hotel and inspected the camera and looked in the janitor's closet behind where the camera had been installed.
'He immediately took it out using a plastic bag and luckily it wasn't attached to anything at the time so hopefully it wasn't live streaming.
A receptionist went to investigate and found the camera linked up to a cupboard next door.
'I don't know how long it had been in there, I don't know how many people it had filmed before me. I just felt completely shocked and violated and it was disgusting.'

The camera, which was attached to a USB cable but had not been switched on, was discovered in a cupboard located in the main hallway at the back of the shower.

Ms Hachey, who had taken photographs of her discovery, said: 'After that the police came, they had a look at my pictures and looked at the camera itself and the vent.'
She then received a call from upper management, who told her it was there for maintenance.
'She told me to calm down and there was no footage on there. But no one had looked,' she said.
After giving a statement to Thames Valley Police, Ms Hachey tried to find another place to stay for the weekend, but ended up having to switch rooms.
She said: 'I didn't want to stay in that room. They moved the bed into another room. Later I got a call from customer services saying I was going to get a full refund and that was it.'
A spokeswoman for Travelodge confirmed a device had been found in the room and apologised to Ms Hachey.
She added:
'We can confirm that on Friday 28th August 2015 a customer at our Oxford Wheatley hotel made us aware of the presence of what appeared to be a camera in their room.
'The privacy of our customers is a matter of the highest importance to us and the hotel team investigated immediately.
'While the camera appeared to be inoperative, we have reported this matter to the police and we are now supporting them fully with their ongoing investigations.

Pregnant 'French' tourist who appealed to find one-night-stand dad, revealed as hoax

Posted: 02 Sep 2015 09:05 AM PDT

The woman who captured hearts by launching a moving video appeal to find the father of her unborn child has revealed it was a hoax. Filmed by the beach at Mooloolaba, on Australia's sunshine coast, Natalie Amyot asked social media to help her find "the really cute guy" she met at a party on the last night of her holiday.

But a day after the video was released, another clip was uploaded to her YouTube channel in which she admitted the appeal was a marketing ploy set up by Sunny Coast Social Media in Queensland.

The new clip opens with the 26-year-old announcing: "I found him", before stepping aside for the social media company's owner Andy Sellar.

In the newly uploaded "I found him" video, Natalie blows her cover and introduces viral video marketer Andy Sellar. The man discloses to the public that Natalie did not really fall pregnant during a one night stand in Mooloolaba, but was just an actress hired for their video marketing plan to put Mooloolaba on the map.

Sellar says he knows some people will be upset to learn that the whole thing was a marketing ploy, but says no one should be mad at "Natalie" as she was just an actress and he was the one handling all of the social media accounts and responses.

Sellar says that the video was created to start dialogue about Mooloolaba.

"We do viral videos for businesses. Now I know there is going to be a lot of you that are upset by this... maybe not too happy.
"But this young lady was just a volunteer in this. I did all the Facebook, the YouTube, I did all the answering. She had nothing to do with that, she literally was just an actress."
"We just wanted to put Mooloolaba on the map because it's a wonderful place. So thank you for watching and we are going to do many, many more videos like this," he explained.

Venus Williams graduates College with a business degree

Posted: 02 Sep 2015 08:58 AM PDT

Venus Williams graduated last month from Indiana University East with a Bachelors in Business Administration. It's her second college degree, after she earned an Associates from the Art Institute in Fort Lauderdale in 2007.

Williams, 35, did not previously have a lot of time for college, as she made her professional tennis debut at the age of 14. In the years since, she has won seven Grand Slam titles, as well as serving as CEO of her interior design firm V Starr Interiors and creating a fashion line called EleVen.

Williams also owns a couple of Jamba Juice francises. So a business degree is certainly going to help her a lot.
In a statement, she said:
"I've learned so much. It was always my dream to have a business degree and I ended up going to art school so many times, but in the back of my head I felt like I needed the tools to be a better leader, to be a better planner, to be better at all of the things I wanted to do in my businesses because I'm so hands-on,".
She still plays Tennis. She's currently competing in the US Open.

How to buy Camry and don't mess up while at it. Jiji’s tips and tricks

Posted: 02 Sep 2015 10:12 AM PDT

This was not written by me. It is a sponsored post. Read below...
Hey guys! I am here to share my experience buying pre used car via Jiji.ng . We all know that buying a new car is not always an option, but nonetheless we still need to get places.  So  thanks to my old friend and googling I finally made up my mind.

I had a choice:

Going out in the city and hitting up some car dealers
Going to a friends house and picking his old car
Going on classifieds and try to get one there
Quitting the whole thing and go to the bar

So that is what I did: being a lazy person I threw first two options away since they required actually moving my ass, and the last one I saved for later.

Since I had only phone on me at that time I went to Google Play Market and read some reviews. More or less adequate ones I saw on JiJi.ng APP. Besides, I remember friends boasting about the bike she got via JiJi almost for free, I decided to find more information and found this:

Anyways. First thing that hit me was the color of the app. I am a huge fan of simple and green, in addition liked selection of the city so it made up my mind from the start.

Searching was pretty easy too, I just typed in Toyota Camry and a rain of ads fell before my feet. I had a huge variety of cars from 1999 to 2015 models. clean and ready to be driven again.

My budget wasn't that limited so I went for a 2008 model, fairly used and with full package.

So here are some screenshots for you to see why I liked Jiji.ng I really liked whole idea of login with Facebook (I really hate creating new accounts each time).

So, this is how the app looks in general. Now time to see through the ads. Buying on JiJi was actually really easy and a few things warmed my heart: each ad I encountered had notification about safety. That is so sweet to care for the users. Although, I assume not everyone pays attention to this:

And this is how ad looks like. You can browse through the photos, or choose how to contact the seller (message or call). I recommend calling the person just click on the button "Show contacts" and make a call. It will make your purchase more personal and heartwarming. Also you can bargain the crap out of the seller and in the end receive a good discount. Which I did : D

In the end I got what I wanted - functioning car with all the safety I needed. After meeting up with the seller and giving the car a spin we made a deal. Now I am a proud owner of Toyota Camry Red Edition.

To sum things up:

I have an amazing car for the half price of a new one
Jiji has an awesome app that is simple to use
I learned about saving up money all thanks to Jiji
And I got drunk later that day :)

And this all thanks to Jiji App. Install and try it yourself!
