Question me if I don't name my ministers after September 30 - Buhari tells Nigerians

Posted: 07 Sep 2015 12:53 PM PDT

At a joint press conference with President John Mahama of Ghana earlier today, Pres. Buhari said Nigerians should question him if he fails to announce his ministers after September 30th.
"After I was sworn-in,  I said I will have my cabinet in September. I expect that Nigerians should ask me questions after the 30th of September if I do not do so," he said
While speaking on the fight against Boko Haram in Nigeria, president Buahri said some positive results have been recorded so far and that the sect has now been limited to Sambisa forest
"The first thing I did after I came into office was to reorganize the military and clear orders were given to them in terms of retraining, re-equipping and redeployment of troops. In the northeast, the military is gaining ground and Boko Haram has been limited to the Sambisa forest. Internally Displaced Persons are gradually moving back home and they are being reintegrated into their respective communities." he said

Orezi's debut album charters at No 3 ahead of Wizkid's 'Ayo' album within 24hrs pre-sales order

Posted: 07 Sep 2015 12:37 PM PDT

Orezi's debut album is living up to the hype already with pre-order sales of the album charting the album in no 3 on iTunes chart in less than 24 hours of the album pre-order link debuted on iTunes. This means that the album is already selling even before it is officially released more than the other albums like wizkid's Ayo Album. That is a lot of demand for an album in less than 24 hours.

This is the first time a pre-order sales will chart a Nigerian album.

While the online pre-order is on going the hard copy pre-order is also very interesting. 30 000 copies has been pre-ordered already by 2 reputable companies in Nigeria. Fatgbems Petroleum ( 20 000 ) and Meribet sport betting company (10 000 ) according to a reliable source.

Alhaji Orezi who already told other artistes dropping albums this september to chill out because he is here to steal their shine is definitely living up to the promise of the best album "straight outta Naija"
.
He is presently out of the country with his team to shoot videos off the Album

Congratulations to Alhaji Orezi for this.

Karrueche Tran rumoured to be dating Future's DJ, Esco

Posted: 07 Sep 2015 12:15 PM PDT

Chris Brown and his goons will not be happy to read this...but according to reports, there's possibly a new man in Karrueche Tran's life. His name is DJ Esco (pictured above with her) and he's rapper Future's official DJ. The two were spotted in Washington DC last week after arriving together to Kae's hosting gig. TheYBF reports below...
"A source from Future's camp dropped the nugget that Karrueche and ESCO are, in fact, dating.  How serious things are between them remains to be seen, but the twosome are allegedly heating up.

We're also told Future may have a secret album on the way that EeSCO will appear on.  Since Kae is no stranger to gravitating toward the limelight, our source tells us Karrueche likes the fact that ESCO is on the come-up and is now receiving plenty of shine on his own.

Meet Super producer, Onesoul (photos)

Posted: 07 Sep 2015 11:11 AM PDT

Ideh Chukwuma Innocent a.k.a. Onesoul was born on the 4th of September early 80s in Ogun State, Nigeria. As a child, though originally from Edo State, he moved to Lagos where he had his primary and secondary education. Afterwards. He went to the University of Lagos to study International relations but as fate would have it; the drive for film kept knocking which led him to leave the course behind and move to South Africa in order to train as a film maker.

Innocent worked with Silverbird communications for 3 years before heading to South Africa to study film making. He majored in DIRECTING, PRODUCING and EDITINGthen returned to Nigeria in November 2014.

On his return to Nigeria in November, he set up a company which he named HEAT FACTORY I.C.I. His vision was to make a mark and help with the advancement of film production in Africa.

In his early days as a filmmaker, Innocent worked with various Nigerian artistssuch as BANKY W, ARA, ICE PRINCE, PUFFY T, TIMI DAKOLO, NNEKA, SHANK, MAHEEDA, GENERAL PYPE, KEFEE, SOUND SULTAN, ONYEKA ONWENU and the list goes on... making music videos for these artists. He advanced to shootingdocumentaries, TV commercials and TV shows for Brand companies such as Trace urban, Glo, Nokia , 2wice As Nice studios, Ibru foundation to mention afew.

In January 2015 he signed a multi million naira production deal with 2WICE AS NICE STUDIOS and IBRU FOUNDATION as the companies' official movie director. This deal will keep him busy for the three years of his career that followed; making series of feature length cinema movies which would premiere across different parts of Africa, Europe and America.

In March 2015, he embarked on his first full length movie production for 2WICE AS NICE STUDIOS and IBRU FOUNDATION which was titled DIANA'S VERDICT starring young actress AMAKA OBI, SEUN AKINDELE, FRED AMATA and KEPPY EKPEYONG BASSEY. The movie which was written, produced and directed by ONESOUL himselffocuses on the fight to stop violence against women. Official movie website is www.dianasverdict.com

After the production success of DIANA'S VERDICT, he did not waste time to kick start the second movie production for the year. This time it would be the sad love story titled ANGER. The film paraded big names such as JIDE KOSOKO, KEIRA HEWATCH, KUNLE REMI, ADAORA UKOH e.t.c, also produced and directed by ONESOUL. Official movie website is www.angermovie.com

No doubt the contract between ONESOUL and 2WICE AS NICE STUDIO reeks of success and huge potential for the future because, By end of July 2015, 2WICE AS NICE STUDIOS released funding for the third film on the row within the same year. This time, it would be a project that will stand really tall among the three. The movie boasts of a fine cast that includes the likes of; YEMI BLAQ, SEGUN ARINZE, KUNLE COKER, ELVINA IBRU, DEDE MABIAKU, ADAORA UKOH, MOFE DUNCAN and up-comer, LINDA OSIFO. This one, which is titled CAJOLING tells the story of deceit, love and betrayal and was Co-written by ONESOUL, produced and directed by him. The movie is currently under post production and will surely come out as a block buster that everyone would want to watch.

With all this, it is obvious that the young film maker who has done a lot in less than one year of relocating home is ready to take the Nigerian and African film industry to another level with his fresh ideas, skills, training and talent.

In his word ''In Africa there are so many talented youths with great ideas and skills but not too many of them have the opportunity to express themselves and put these skills into play. I come from a very humble background where I had to work extremely hard for anything I ever wanted. If I wanted to eat, I had to work for it. If I wanted shoes, I had to work for it. If I wanted clothes and a roof over my head, I sure did have to work hard for it. I also strove to get the education that I got because I knew that if I wanted to be successful, I had to work twice as hard for it. I didn't get anything on a platter of gold so I know that I have to give everything the best that I have got. I feel blessed with the opportunity given to me by 2WICE AS NICE STUDIOS. It is hard to see people who believe in young talent like myself but they strongly do and are investing so much for my career to be a success and I owe everything to them. This speaks to every young entrepreneur or creative person out there who has a passion for something. Stick to it and give it your best shot. Be focused and one day the sky will be your beginning. My dream is to be the best in the business, My dream is to be the best out of the African continent, to be the Stephen Spielberg of AFRICA. So help me GOD!

ONESOUL is currently getting ready for his next two productions back to back. One is titled THE LAST JOB which is the first movie franchise in Africa and a series he is producing for MNET titled "crime, love and politics" CLAP.
Between January and February 2016 another multi million naira Feature, film project will be shot with the title, PILLARS OF AFRICA. A project he has been working on for over 3years. Still written and to be directed by ONESOUL. The film will be produced by the PRESIDENT and CREATIVE DIRECTOR of 2WICE AS NICE STUDIOS, in the person of ELVINA IBRU and executive produced by the C.E.O, OBUKOME IBRU.  This will also line up a couple of international actors, financed and managed by 2WICE AS NICE STUDIOS and the IBRU FOUNDATION.

Somewhere in Africa there is a man called ONESOUL. He was born IDEH CHUKWUMA INNOCENT. Soon the world will hear of him - BRACE YOURSELF.

Mums fight back against controversial advice that kissing kids on the lips is 'too sexual' with pics of themselves with their kids

Posted: 07 Sep 2015 10:49 AM PDT

A few weeks ago, a child psychologist from Californian university UCLA, Dr Charlotte Reznick, said kissing children on the lips was too 'sexual' and asked parents to stop it as it is confusing for young children. Australian mothers have slammed the claim, saying 'it's perfectly natural and loving.' They further protested by sharing photos online of them kissing their children on the lips. See more photos after the cut..

Dr Reznick's  comments were originally sparked by an old photo of Hollywood actor Harry Connick Jr kissing his then eight-year-old daughter on the lips.

Queen of Gele presents completely ready-to-wear gele. No more tying needed

Posted: 07 Sep 2015 09:29 AM PDT

Born from a love of African fashion, Queen of Gele is the must-have gele (head-gear) brand for afro-centric ladies who want to complement their stunning traditional outfits with edgy, fashionable and on-trend head ties without tthe stress, pain and sweat that comes with attempting to tie the gele themselves.

Queen of Gele was formed after several failed attempts by the brand founders to tie gele themselves. They tried it all: attending various gele tying courses, spending precious hours following "easy to do" YouTube tutorials and even having to pay at parties to have it tied.

Knowing there mustbe an easier way the founders decided to set-off on a journey of innovation to find the perfect solution to share with ladies all around the world.
Reminiscing about Clark Kent's speedy transformation into Superman, the founders were inspired to create a gele that could be worn in 5 minutes or less. Combining their creative, technical design and fashion drafting skills, the "5 MinutesTo Perfection"gele was born.

They have just launched their first collection which showcases 5 easy to wear designs. Visit their website for more information, or better yet take a look at their YouTube how-to tutorial & behind the scenes videos. Keep updated via their Instagram & Twitter feeds.

Read The Economist post on Boko Haram and the multiple 'deaths' of Abubakar Shekau

Posted: 07 Sep 2015 09:24 AM PDT

Read this very interesting article by The Economist on the fight against Boko Haram and the alleged multiple deaths of Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau. The article below..
How many times can one man die? At least four, in the case of Abubakar Shekau, the slippery leader of Boko Haram. Nigerian security forces celebrated his demise in 2009, 2013 and 2014, only for him to pop up again, disconcertingly animate, on camera. When Chad's president said in August that his troops had killed Mr Shekau, the jihadist was resurrected once again, this time with a voice recording. "Woe unto liars that had claimed I am dead," said the voice. "Nobody can kill me."
This relatively mild-mannered dispatch raised questions of its own. Most of what is known about Africa's most notorious terrorist derives from his gun-wielding, slave-touting videos. If he were still at large, would he not release a film in his usual more robust style? Most probably, he is indeed alive. Whether he is injured is impossible to say. Experts dispute how old he is, or how religiously scholarly. Perhaps he is not one man at all. The army accused Boko Haram of using body doubles after he was "killed" last year.

The organisation Mr Shekau presides over is shrouded in more mystery still. Nigeria's insurgency has grown a lot bloodier since Mr Shekau took over from Mohammed Yusuf, who was (verifiably) shot dead by police in 2009. In theory a more conciliatory leader might offer some hope for compromise and peace. But what if many of Boko Haram's bomb-blasting ideologues answer to different bosses altogether? Even the most knowledgeable experts cannot agree on whether the organisation consists of one army or several.

This is a worry, to say the least. Nigeria has spent six years and billions of dollars battling the terrorists, who have killed over 15,000 people in their bid to establish a caliphate in the north-east. As attacks spill across borders, Chad, Cameroon and Niger have been drawn in. A regional army is set to deploy soon. Without basic intelligence, they are shooting in the dark.

One explanation for the sect's opacity is geography. Boko Haram's fighters hole up in the forests and mountains near the border with Cameroon, or along the desert fringes of Lake Chad. Telephone lines are often cut. Members communicate vital information in person. Fulan Nasrullah, a Nigerian security analyst, says Boko Haram conscripts only from families known to its spies, so it is not easily infiltrated.

A second view is that those who could solve the enigma do not try hard to do so. America designated Boko Haram as a terrorist organisation only in 2013. With a bounty of $7m on his head, Mr Shekau is worth more to the Americans than any other outlaw in Africa. Yet there have been only modest efforts to train local soldiers and gather intelligence. Western governments do not view Nigeria's Islamists as a threat to their interests. Compared with Islamic State, Boko Haram is not a priority.
Within Nigeria, meanwhile, the war has made some generals and security agents very rich. They would perhaps rather not see it end. The official line seems to be that questions about what Boko Haram wants and how its forces are structured are peripheral. "Even if there is a split [between factions], we are not looking at it that way," says Mike Omeri, a government spokesman.

It had better start. The stringent new president, Muhammadu Buhari, recently gave the army three months to snuff out Boko Haram. Before they stand a chance of doing that, they will need to work out what they are fighting.

DNA test reveals couple's son was swapped at birth in El Salvador hospital - 'then kidnapped and sold by people traffickers'

Posted: 07 Sep 2015 09:20 AM PDT

Richard Cushworth and his wife Mercedes Casanellas, who is from El Salvador, welcomed a son at a hospital in San Salvador in May 2015, but say they immediately noticed that something was wrong.

The couple, who live in Dallas, Texas, (pictured right with the 'swapped' child and left, Ms Casanellas with their biological child) did a DNA test 3 months after the birth and found that the child handed to them by hospital staff is not related to either of them. The couple now fear their light-skinned baby was snatched deliberately by staff at the exclusive Ginecologico private hospital in the country's capital San Salvador to sell to child traffickers.

The couple pictured with their swapped child
Mr Cushworth, whose parents hail from Bradford, West Yorkshire, and his wife had travelled to the capital San Salvador in order for Ms Casanellas to give birth in her home country.

Ms Casanellas says she noticed that the child that staff claimed was hers had a darker skin colour than she remembered at birth, but she was told that she was mistaken. They believe the child has been sold to traffickers.

In an emotional interview with a local TV station, a teary Ms Casanellas said: 'We haven't been able to sleep thinking about where he is, and who has him. We just want them to give us our son back.' Mr Cushworth, who met Ms Casanellas when he worked as a missionary in El Salvador, added: 'It's a horrible situation. I have a child and I don't know where he is. Someone took my child and I have no idea where he is, who is taking care of him, what has happened to him. Is he in the country? It's awful. I sometimes try not to think about this because it is so frightening.'

Ms Casanella's obstetrician-gyneacologist, Dr Alejandro Guidos (pictured above), who the couple accuse of masterminding the plot, was arrested on Thursday, according to their family's lawyer Francisco Meneses.

Ms Casanellas said that, from the fifth month of her pregnancy, she remembered how Dr Guidos would repeatedly tell her that her child would be dark-skinned, even though the father is white.

She said: 'I always thought that was strange. How would he know that from the ultra-sound scans, and why would he keep saying it?'

Above are photos of the baby she says she gave birth to

Remembering her baby's birth, she said: 'I was very stressed at first because the baby took a while to start breathing, but then I held him and remember thinking that he looked like my husband.
'He was very white and had similar features. I remember seeing his genitals and thinking that they were white and pinkish.'

Ms Casanellas and her husband took a number of photos of their biological son after the birth, which they say is further proof that their child was swapped.

'But then the anaesthetist came and told me that I was very nervous and that they were going to give me something to put me to sleep. After that I don't remember anything, until I woke up the next morning.

'Around 8am, they started to bring the babies to their mothers, and I waited for mine. But when I took him I saw that he was very different to the one I had held in the delivery room. When I changed his clothes I noticed that his genitals were very dark and not rosy like how I'd remembered.
'I said to the nurse, 'look, his genitals are very dark', and she told me, 'no, that's normal, that's normal''.
Despite the doubts, the couple took the baby back home to Dallas, Texas, but over the coming months family and friends also noticed the child's darker colour and lack of resemblance with his parents.

Ms Casanellas said: 'I would take photos of him and put them next to my husband, trying to find something of us in him. I kept trying to convince myself that he was really ours, that over time we would begin to see a resemblance.

'But my motherly instincts kept telling me that he wasn't mine.'
The family have reportedly already investigated all the other babies born at the hospital on the same day and found that all are with their correct parents - reinforcing their belief that their own son was stolen.

The baby was three months old when the couple finally found to courage to take a DNA test, which showed he has a 0.00 per cent probability of being their son.
Desperate to find the baby she gave birth to, the couple has since rushed back to El Salvador.
On Saturday, Mr Cushworth and his wife had DNA tests performed on all the male children born at the hospital on the same day as their son - May 21st.

Out of the ten other children born on the same day, four were male and six were female, but the newspaper did not reveal the outcome of the DNA tests.
At first San Salvador's Ginecologio hospital, considered the best private hospital in the country, denied that the baby could have been swapped, saying it was 'impossible' due to their 'high standards' of control.

But after Dr Guidos's arrest, following the family's high-profile TV interview, the hospital ordered an internal investigation and promised that the situation will be 'rectified'.
The country's Attorney General has now ordered a criminal investigation into the baby's disappearance amid claims a trafficking gang, led by Dr Guido, has been operating inside the hospital.

Rihanna bans Lewis Hamilton from communicating with ex, Nicole Scherzinger?

Posted: 07 Sep 2015 08:58 AM PDT

Probably not true but according to a report by In Touch magazine, Rihanna has banned her alleged new boyfriend Lewis Hamilton from communicating with his ex girlfriend, Nicole Scherzinger…

Sources tells In Touch
"Nicole was constantly texting Lewis and it annoyed Rihanna. So she told him that if he doesn't cut contact, it's over. Rihanna's worried that a spark may still linger. She wants to ensure she's the woman in Lewis' life."
Meanwhile, Rihanna's god mother, Sharon Bellamy Thompson - who helped raise the singer as a child, babysitting her and driving her to school - approves of their relationship. And so do I..:-)

Sharon was recently quoted as saying:
"They would have beautiful babies. As long as this man makes her happy, he's got my approval. You've got to love his British charm. I saw her at the carnival [in Barbados] and Lewis is so handsome."
