| Our Convention still holds as scheduled- Ahmed Makarfi -led faction of PDP says Posted: 15 Aug 2016 01:30 PM PDT  Our attention has been drawn once again to another act of judicial recklessness by the Honourable Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Okon Abang of the purported suspension of the PDP National Convention holding in Port Harcourt, Rivers on Wednesday the 17 of August 2016.We wish to however state that a Federal High Court in Port Harcourt Rivers State has earlier in the day given a comprehensive Order wherein the Honourable Judge specifically ordered the PDP to proceed with the convention as scheduled without hindrance. Indeed his lordship while given the Order mandated all relevant agencies including The Police, DSS and INEC to cooperate with the Party in organizing a hitch free National Convention. You may also wish to note that the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt, Rivers State gave an Interlocutory Order while Justice Okon Abang, Abuja, gave an Interim Order. The Order of Port Harcourt is clearly superior and earlier in time to the Interim Order given by Justice Okon Abang. In the light of the above, The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a law abiding Party is obeying the Order of the Port Harcourt, Federal High Court until set aside by any competent Court of jurisdiction. In view of the above, the 2016 Repeat National Convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will continue as scheduled as we welcome all Delegates, Party leaders, other critical stakeholders, INEC monitoring team and other friends of PDP to Port Harcourt, Rivers State while wishing all our members and supporters a successful National Convention. | Johnny Depp cut off a finger tip in a fit of rage - Ex, Amber Heard claims (graphic photo Posted: 15 Aug 2016 01:09 PM PDT  Johnny Depp accidentally cut off his fingertip in a fit of rage ... then dipped the stump in dark blue paint and wrote on the wall in paint and blood the name "Billy Bob" -- the actor with whom Johnny accused Amber Heard of cheating -- this according to Amber and her people." The photo after the cut is a little graphic TMZ has obtained this gruesome photo of Johnny's butchered finger -- It's an exhibit in her domestic violence case against Johnny. We're told the incident went down in March of last year, just a month after Amber and Johnny married. They were in a villa in Australia when a fierce argument erupted. According to Amber's version of events Johnny, who was drunk and high on ecstasy, smashed several bottles and windows and also slammed a plastic phone against the wall unit. She claims a piece of one of the items cut off a portion of his forefinger.  Amber's version goes on ... she's a painter and had dark blue paint in the room. She claims Johnny dipped what remained of his forefinger in the paint and then used the gnarly digit to write various words on the wall, including "Billy Bob" and "Easy Amber." Amber had done a movie with Billy Bob Thornton and she claims Johnny accused the 2 of sleeping together -- something she strongly denied, adding he accused her of infidelity with other men as well. Amber's people say Johnny didn't get medical help for nearly 24 hours, so doctors could not reattach the fingertip ... they used a flap from his hand to sew on a new tip. It's the latest twist in an acrimonious case. A video leaked Friday of Johnny in a rage, smashing a wine bottle and glass. |

| Court suspends PDP's August 17th convention Posted: 15 Aug 2016 12:13 PM PDT  Makarfi and a member of the National caretaker committee of the party, Ben Obi, had immediately applied that they be joined in Sheriff's suit as co-defendants. Hearing on their Application was slated for today but Obi had earlier in the day gone to the Port Harcourt Division of the Federal High Court where he was able to secure an ex'parte order that INEC and the police participate and monitor the August 17th party convention. An angry Justice Okon lambasted Obi for rushing to the Port Harcourt Division of the Federal High Court to obtain the ex parte order. "Senator Ben Obi cannot treat the court with levity. What is the reason for rushing to another court when the court is already seized of this matter? I want to point out that a court of coordinate jurisdiction cannot make an order that will neutralise the proceedings of this court. The Port Harcourt Division of this court cannot make an order to neutralise the proceedings of this court"he said Futhermore, Justice Okon said "To maintain the dignity and integrity of the court and in the over all interest of justice, taking into consideration the competing claims of the parties, an order is hereby made in the interim suspending the PDP convention slated for August 17, 2016, pending when the plaintiff motion on notice dated July 20 is served and heard" he said. |

Rude, reckless, careless with a fowl mouth filled with unprintable yarns. Check out comments on some blogs, even on my face book page, some comments are obviously ignorant, stupid or down right off the hook in relationship to the issue. Some of our social media junkies have an opinion as if anybody send dem and a lotta times it is so crazily judgemental. Haba. I consider myself a liberal minded kinda fella. I try never to judge, even though total strangers have been ignorantly unkind and judgemental about my treasured brand, Charlyboy. I have walked my journey guided by the philosophy, "live and let live". Recently, there was this trending story of an American who married his Nigerian gay partner, David Shoen-Ukre, in New York on July 30, who accused Nigerian bloggers, of causing the couple harm by publishing their stories without permission. The rain of curses/abuse, and the terrible judgemental comments the ensued after the story broke, was incredible. Many concluded that the couples were Evil. I have never seen hate and ignorance come so alive in words. While I cannot speak louder than the stupidity of other people who will disagree with me on this, NO, being gay is not Evil!! A man marrying a man maybe a hard pill for a lot of us to digest, but the world has changed even since I took a dump this morning. Don't judge others simply because they sin differently than you. Every aspect of humans are diverse. Skin color, tribal marks/culture, height/weight, religious beliefs/tastes, everyone thinks differently and are different. We see what we see from where we stand. What is Evil to me, are the men in Agbada/Uniform who sold are country, our future and rendered most of us hopeless, future less, obnoxiously poor in a land filled with plenty. They are the VERY EVIL ONE's, and we are feeling the effect of their EVIL. I have always said that people's sexual preferences are their cup of tea. Even though many will swear that I am gay too, hummm for dem pocket. I however must confess that I have a few close associates, casual friends who are Gay, and I truely don't mind their company or friendship. Infact I have found the few of them, with very warm hearts, and fantastic soul. Yes o! And for those modafuckers who would want to come and quote bible for me, this is a peace from the same Holy book. Titus 3:2-7 To speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all people. For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior. | 6yr old boy in Sokoto undergoes surgery to repair damage caused by flesh-eating disease Posted: 15 Aug 2016 08:27 AM PDT  Six-year-old Zayyanu Murtala is pictured recovering from surgery carried out few weeks ago, to reconstruct a hole in his jaw and damage to his eye, caused by the flesh-eating disease known as 'noma', at Medecins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders) children's hospital in Sokoto, Nigeria. According to Doctors Without Border, 'Noma', which came from the Greek word for 'to devour', begins as an ulcer inside the mouth, which then eats away at the cheek tissue and bones in the mouth area of the infected person. Left untreated, the disease is fatal in up to 90 percent of cases. However, if treated early, the infection can be stopped quickly with antibiotics and nutritional support. |

| Lagos state government signs law prohibiting land grabbing in the state Posted: 15 Aug 2016 08:17 AM PDT  Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode on Monday fulfilled his pledge of making the menace of land grabbing in Lagos a thing of the past with the signing of the Lagos State Properties Protection Law. Governor Ambode also signed the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps Law, a move which is majorly aimed at boosting security of lives and property in all the Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas of the State. Speaking at the signing ceremony which was attended by the Lagos State Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa; the Chief Judge of the State, Justice Olufunmilayo Atilade and other top government functionaries, Governor Ambode said the laws were central to his administration's focus of safeguarding the lives of all residents, as well as attracting, growing investments and improving the ease of doing business in the State. "In addition to equipping our security agencies, we have now created a legal framework to put some form of communal protection in place to boost and support the great job the Nigeria Police is presently doing," Governor Ambode said. The Governor, who explained that the Neighbourhood Safety Corps would assist the police and other security agencies to maintain law and order across the communities, added that the Neighbourhood Safety Agency, which the new law established, would also be charged with the responsibility of registering all private home security and any other person employed for private home security amongst other things. On the Properties Protection Law, Governor Ambode said the need for the law followed the fact that one of the issues that discouraged investors and hindered the ease of doing business in Lagos in the past had always been the menace of land grabbing. He recalled that a lot of would-be property owners encountered untold harassment from exploitative land grabbers, adding that the law now marks the end of the road for such land grabbers. "The Lagos State Properties Protection Law will give legal backing to the operations of our law enforcement officers. The main objective of this Law is to ensure that our investors, businessmen and the general populace carry on their legitimate land/property transactions without any hinderance or intimidation henceforth. "The Properties Law will eliminate the activities of persons or corporate entities who use force and intimidation to dispossess or prevent any person or entity from acquiring legitimate interest and possession of property, ensure that the Special Task Force on Land-Grabbers work with all Security agencies to ensure enforcement of State Government and Private property rights in the State, and ensure proper coordination of the efforts of the various agencies of Government charged with enforcing the State Government's rights over land in Lagos," the Governor said. Besides, Governor Ambode said the presence of the heads of the three arms of government - the Executive, Legislature and Judiciary, at the signing ceremony was a confirmation of the seriousness and resolve of government of Lagos State to address the issues once and for all. While setting the tone for the signing ceremony earlier, the State's Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Adeniji Kazeem said the laws marked demonstration of promise kept by the present administration, and recalled the donation of security equipment to security agencies on two occasions within six months, which had aided the police and other security agencies in reducing crime. He added that the laws would go a long way in further providing the necessary legal, human and material support to security services in the discharge of their duties. In his remarks, Speaker Obasa said the signing of the two laws confirmed that Lagos is being governed by a responsible Governor and a responsive government, adding that the move was also a clear and emphatic message to criminals that Lagos is a no go area for their criminal activities. Also, Chairman of Ikeja branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mr. Dele Oloke commended Governor Ambode for taking the initiative on the laws, saying that the Properties Protection law would go a long way in curbing the illegal activities of land grabbers, otherwise known as Omo-Oniles and their sponsors, whom he said are sometimes respectable persons in the society. Highlights of the Properties Protection Law include the reduction to barest minimum the activities of persons or corporate entities who use force and intimidation to dispossess or prevent any person or entity from acquiring legitimate interest and possession of property acquired through State Government or private transactions. On the other hand, highlights of the Neighbourhood Safety Corps Law include, among others, the establishment of the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency for regulation and control of Neighbourhood Safety Corps activities.
