Toya Wright describes the painful moment she found out her brothers were killed: "It was the worst news ever"

Posted: 18 Aug 2016 12:48 PM PDT

Toya Wright has opened up about what exactly happened the fateful night her brothers Rudy and Josh Johnson were killed in a shootout in New Orleans. In a interview with People the reality star revealed she was hosting an event in Baton Rouge the night of the murders.
"I got a call from my sister-in-law and she was like, 'Your brothers just got shot,'" she recalls. "The music was loud and I'm [thinking], this can't be real." She tried to call other relatives, but nobody would answer their phone.
"I guess they didn't want to tell me what was really going on," She later spoke to her sister-in-law again, who told Wright that her brothers were still inside the car, the crime scene was cordoned off and no one was allowed near the vehicle."
"When she said that," Wright explains, "I just knew."

The ex-wife of Lil Wayne whom she shares 17-year-old daughter Reginae Carter with, drove to New Orleans to join her family.

"It was the worst news ever," she says. "Murders happen every day and this is another dark night in New Orleans. You hear about stories like this all the time, but it doesn't really hit you until you get that call. It hits so close to home."  Unfortunately, there is still no justice for the Johnson brothers. "We have not publicly identified a suspect or suspects in the case at this time," police spokesman Tyler Gamble tells People. "The investigation is ongoing."

Although recent events have made life overwhelming at times, Wright is trying to stay strong.

"I'm praying day and night because it hurts," she says. "I really understand what it means to have a hole in your heart."

No going back on Dogara-gate scandal- Abdulmumin Jibrin says

Posted: 18 Aug 2016 12:07 PM PDT

Embattled ‎former Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation, Abdulmumin Jibrin, says he is not going back on his fight with Speaker Yakubu Dogara. Read his latest statement below...
Many concerned Nigerians have reached me in the past few days, expressing their fear over the fate of the allegations I raised against the very corrupt Speaker Yakubu Dogara, three (3) other Principal Officers and nine (9) other members.
I understand the concern of many Nigerians who feel strongly that by now Speaker Dogara and the 12 others should have reconvened the House, resigned and faced arrest in the wake of the grievous allegations leveled against them, which they have responded to none.
I wish to reassure Nigerians that I STAND by my allegations and there is no going back. We shall put in our all and expose DOGARA-GATE SCANDAL to the very end and ensure that justice is served on Speaker Dogara and his group of corrupt Principal Officers and members.
For the avoidance of doubt, let me restate that I have interacted severally with anti-corruption agencies. It is however heartwarming to know that they are indeed working meticulously on the matter. I have little doubt that they will do justice expeditiously and sooner than letter, we will get to the point where every Nigerian is waiting for -- the arrest of Speaker Dogara and his group of budget criminals and fraudsters parading themselves as "Honourable" members, indeed!
Nigerians must remain vigilant because Speaker Dogara is using his office to obstruct and neutralize investigation. He is also using same and the time he has now before the long arms of law catches up with him to hurriedly clean up the mess on his desk, spend the stolen money on all sort of consultants and people he thinks can help him out through subterranean means.
On our side, while waiting for the response of our great party, the APC, on my letter, we are reaching out to everyone or group that can support this worthy cause against DOGARA-GATE, the biggest corruption case in the history of our country.
We are also reaching out to the Presidential Advisory Committee Against corruption. In fact I spoke extensively on phone today with Prof. Itse Sagay and requested to make presentation to his committee on the allegations, just as we are reaching out to the Diplomatic Community and Civil Society groups so that everyone will understand the gravity of the allegations and the urgent need for decisive action to be taken by the anti corruption agencies.
Let me express my profound appreciation to all my colleagues that visited me, called or sent text messages to show solidarity and express anger on why I did not open up much earlier. I must also thank the social media community and print media who have ensured that the issue remain in the front burner despite several attempts by Speaker Dogara to sweep it out and change the public narrative with personal attack on my person and attempt to drag the Executive, Senate and other government officials into this matter and blackmail them.
My fellow Nigerians, be rest assured the DOGARA-GATE scandal will never be settled as a "family" matter or swept under the carpet, we shall remain vigilant until justice is served on these extremely corrupt members.
God bless.

Female serial killer: Woman kills boyfriend, husband and other men

Posted: 18 Aug 2016 12:06 PM PDT

Indiana police has captured 34 year old Kelly Marie Cochran believed to have killed multiple men, including her husband, and a boyfriend. Rolling Stone magazine reports below...
According to reports, on October 13, 2014, Cochran and her husband, 37-year-old Jason Cochran, came up with a diabolical plan: the next night, Cochran would lure 53-year-old Christopher Regan, Kelly's coworker and boyfriend, to her home with the promise of sex and Jason would kill him. The plan worked, and when Jason "caught" Regan with his wife, he shot him in the head with a .22 caliber long-barrel shotgun.

The Cochrans then set about dismembering Regan's body – Kelly later admitted to getting a cord for an electric hand saw, known colloquially as a "sawzall", so Jason Cochran could cut up his corpse. They then divided Regan's body between garbage bags, and threw the bags into the woods around the Iron River in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
Regan was reported missing a few days later, and his car was found abandoned at a park-and-ride lot four miles east of Iron River, Michigan. According to the local Daily News, police honed in on Cochran because she was one of the last people to see Regan. When police searched her home with the FBI in March, 2015, they found nothing – but Cochran was spooked and she and her husband packed up and moved to Lake County, Indiana.
Police continued their investigation with Kelly listed a person of interest, but a year passed and still they had nothing. Then, in February 2016, Jason died of an apparent heroin overdose. Kelly held a memorial service, writing on Facebook that his death was "the hardest thing I will ever have to deal with." But police weren't buying it. Nine weeks after Jason died, Michigan authorities charged Kelly Cochran with Regan's death – and she fled Indiana. The U.S. Marshals Service eventually tracked her down in Kentucky, where she was arrested on April 28th and taken into custody. According to court documents, she spent her time in her jail cell turning her glasses into shanks and threatening violence against anyone who came near her. She was extradited to Michigan where she is now in custody awaiting trial.
Following her arrest, Cochran was interrogated by both Michigan and Indiana police for almost 70 hours. According to the northwest Indiana Post-Tribune, she was able to direct investigators to a desolate stretch of Michigan woods where they discovered evidence of Cochran's alleged crimes, including a human skull with an apparent bullet hole, bones and bone fragments. Police also recovered a .22 caliber rifle, a .22 caliber bullet and a pair of glasses at the scene.
While Cochran was in custody, police also questioned her about the death of her husband. They had grown suspicious when Cochran's version of what happened the night that Jason Cochran died kept changing. Paramedics had been called to the house that Cochran shared with her husband in February, but the EMTs found Jason unresponsive and were unable to revive him. At first glance it looked like he had died of a heroin overdose, but the Indiana Lake County Coroner discovered that Jason had actually died from asphyxiation, not heroin. That's when suspicion turned to his wife, who had been "disruptive" while EMT were working on her husband's body.
The Post-Tribune reports Cochran told police that she delivered an overdose of heroin to her husband and proceeded to put her hands on his neck, nose and mouth, until he died less than a minute later.
In an interview with detectives in Hobart, Indiana, Cochran finally gave police a motive for her brutal crimes-–her decade-plus marriage needed saving. According to the Post-Tribune, Cochran told police that the night before the murder, she and her husband had argued – perhaps about Regan – and her husband wanted to know how "she was going to fix things." The answer they stumbled on, apparently, was to kill Regan. In interviews, Cochran said she blamed her husband for Regan's death and for "taking the only good thing I had in my life." The Post-Tribune notes that in court records Cochran said, "I still hate him (her husband), and yes, it was revenge. I evened the score." There was a brief moment before Regan's death, she had reportedly considered killing her husband instead of her boyfriend. Instead she ended up killing them both, waiting 16 months to exact her revenge on her husband.
In Indiana, Cochran has been charged with the death of her husband; in Michigan, she faces charges related to Regan's death, including homicide, assisting her husband to "mutilate, deface, remove or carry away a portion of a dead body" and concealing the death of an individual. Cochran pleaded "not guilty" to all the charges. While she initially claimed that she wanted to defend herself, she eventually relented and asked for assistance from a public defender.
While Cochran is charged with two murders, Iron County prosecuting attorney Melissa Powell thinks there may be more bodies buried in Cochran's past. According to her court filings, Cochran has "claimed responsibility for the deaths of other individuals, which, if true, makes her a serial killer."

Prophet Joshua Iginla predicts Zambia election

Posted: 18 Aug 2016 08:59 AM PDT

Again popular Abuja prophet, Bro. Joshua Iginla has won the heart of Zambians after his prediction of the just concluded presidential election came to pass. Checks revealed that the fiery prophet in January 2016 prophesied that the incumbent president Edgar Lungu would retain his seat as president.

It was gathered that it generated a lot of controversies especially when popular prophets across the world especially one from South Africa has chosen the opposition party as winner when the election would hold. Reports revealed that during Iginla's three days crusade in Zambia On the 5th – 7th of May, 2016

He also declared openly to them that he saw two lions battling each other in the election but the older lion which is Lungu will emerge winner after a stiff competition.

In a Prophecy on December 31, 2015, He said
'The economy will improve but not as expected. The election in Zambia will be will be like two lions fighting. The president should pray in terms of the election because I see betrayals from his camp and so called faithfuls. But in my vision, I see someone trying to pull him from his seat, yet he remain in the seat''
Sources from Zambia confirmed that all he said about the election which took place on Thursday, 11th of August, 2016 came to pass.

It was a tough time for the Zambians as the battle for the seat of the President was one of a kind, one that has never being experienced.

The battle was between the Leader of Patrotic Front, who is also the sitting President, Edgar Lungu and his opponent, representing United Party for National development, Hakainde Hichilema.
The result of the election was released on  Monday, 15th of August, 2016, in favour of President Edgar Lungu, confirming  Joshua Iginla's prophecy.

According to reports, Zambia's incumbent President Edgar Lungu has been declared the winner of a closely fought presidential election, but the result was immediately challenged by his main opponent Hakainde Hichilema. Lungu, leader of the Patriotic Front (PF), won 50.35 percent of Thursday's vote, against 47.67 percent for Hichilema, of the United Party for National Development (UPND), the Electoral Commission of Zambia said on Monday. The opposition party quickly, however, rejected the result, claiming the electoral commission had colluded to rig the vote against its candidate, to confirm the prophecy.

Similarly, In 2014, when Zambia President at that time, Michael Sata passed on after suffering from a strange illness, and an election was to be carried out, the Fiery Prophet, Joshua Iginla predicted that Edgar Lungu will be the President of the country whenever the election is carried out, even though Sata's vice President, Dr Scott was appointed as acting President, Lungu was however appointed as the President after the election was observed.

Photos: A mother's desperate battle to recover her daughter from the wife of Boko Haram commander

Posted: 18 Aug 2016 08:21 AM PDT

32-year-old Maria David Zaya is desperately battling to recover her daughter, who was kidnapped at age 2, by Boko Haram terrorists in September 2014, while she was visiting her in-laws in Madagali in Adamawa state.

Precious, now almost five, was taken captive along with six other children and two women who lived in the same neighbourhood. Two weeks later, one of the women who escaped told Mrs Zaya that Precious had been quite favoured in captivity because of her light skin and pretty face, and given to one of the wives of an "amir", a Boko Haram commander, who did not have any children of her own.
Worried about the thought of not seeing her daughter ever again, Mrs Zaya returned to Port Harcourt, in the southern state of Rivers, where her husband, David, works as a security man. Shortly after, she gave birth to her second child, a boy named Emma.

Seven months after she returned, Mrs Zaya received news that the Nigerian Army had rescued a number of Boko Haram captives from the Sambisa forest, and taken them to the Malkohi camp for displaced people in Yola, the main city in Adamawa.
"One of my neighbours in the village saw my daughter and some of the other six missing children there and called me to come quickly," said Mrs Zaya.
But by the time she arrived, Precious had disappeared.
After three months of shuttling between various government, military and NGO offices, with the assistance of a Red Cross official, Mrs Zaya finally located her daughter at the Nigerian Defence Academy in Kaduna, where legitimate wives of Boko Haram members (not those forcefully married) were being held with their children for a debriefing process.
"When I saw Precious, she was wearing a headscarf but I recognised her," Mrs Zaya said. She continued following me and staring at me."
Mrs Zaya soon learned that the girl she believed to be Precious had a new name, Yagana, and was in the custody of a Boko Haram wife called Asabe.
She said Asabe became furious when Mrs Zaya presented herself as the girl's mother, insisting that Yagana was her younger sister.
Following the ensuing fracas, the military officials asked Mrs Zaya to return with her husband and with any other proof she might have of the child's parentage. A month later, in September 2015, the couple came with photos of Precious and the girl's birth certificate, but they were denied access to the camp because of an unauthorised official was accompanying them. It was not until December that Mrs Zaya was assigned another authorised Red Cross official to accompany her back to Kaduna.
However, by then, the residents of the defence academy refugee camp had been released. After months of frantic searching and desperate letters to relevant authorities, Mrs Zaya finally located Asabe in a remote village in Damboa in Borno state, where the woman had taken the disputed child.
"This kind of situation is not common but it is also not a new thing," said Jethro Zarma of the State Investigative Bureau in Yola, one of the officers now handling the case.
Based on police records, he said, there have been other incidents of more than one parent claiming a child rescued from Boko Haram captivity.

When several attempts to get Asabe to turn up at the police station with the child failed, Mr Zarma said the department eventually sought the assistance of the military, which then sent soldiers into a volatile area of Damboa to escort the disputed child to a police station in Maiduguri, Borno's main city, last month. But Asabe did not come along.
The child was instead accompanied by an elderly couple, who presented themselves as the girl's grandparents. A confrontation ensued between the couple and Mrs Zaya.
"They became so violent and caused a lot of confusion at the police station," Mr Zarma said.
In the end, the child was taken into the custody of the Borno state government, where she has remained for the past three weeks.
"We will keep her here for her safety, pending confirmation of the child's identity," said Ladi Clarke, an official of the state's social welfare office. "The effort can only be made by Maria because she is the complainant," she added.

Mrs Zaya is now working towards hiring a lawyer to convince a court to order a DNA test. Until then, while her husband awaits his family's return to their home in Port Harcourt, Mrs Zaya lives with one-year-old Emma in a tent within the premises of the St Theresa's Catholic Church in Yola, which has been converted into a camp for persons displaced by the Boko Haram insurgency.
"I will not go back to Port Harcourt until I finish everything," she said. "I will wait until I get my baby."

A look into Ebube Nwagbo’s movie and our today’s youth - by Amaechi Ossai

The youth of today are under pressure. Consciously or unconsciously, the youth box themselves into a needless spot in their pursuit to belong and be termed "popular, cool, fashionable, hip" in today's pop culture. This need to "fit in" also comes with the added advantage of being accepted by their peers.

In this quest, the youth act indifferent in the face of the damning consequences that lie up ahead. To the youth, they are in-tune with global trends in fashion, music and lifestyle. They "know" everything. Yet, they are totally blind to the end result of their choices.

Of late, unplanned pregnancy has become a common issue. To them, having sex is an integral part of "coming of age" and those who have the good sense to abstain and concentrate on their education, are considered to be strung up, and to use street lingo, "wack" by their peers.

The day a girl discovers that she is pregnant she mentally receives a sudden shot of reality check, and those issues that she was indifferent about all the while starts coming to the fore. She suddenly realizes that her dreams and aspirations were about to take a backseat. She no longer thinks about herself in exclusivity, but about taking full responsibility for another human being. A responsibility she is mentally ill-prepared and ill-equipped to shoulder, financially and emotionally.

To make matters worse, instead of seeking informed opinions, she leans on her peers for advice; ill-informed advice. Some forcing marriage on the fellow who is responsible for her unborn baby, a fellow who may be ill-prepared to shoulder the consequences of his actions. The outcome from such contrived situation is anything but pleasant.

In my view, these pitfalls are avoidable. And it starts with the youth setting their priorities right from the onset. The youth should cling to education and self-development and actualization instead of engaging in activities capable of circumventing their entire future prospects. An educated youth is an informed youth. And an informed youth knows what is right and proper at the right time and under the proper conditions.

I posit that the only way to prevent teenage pregnancy is education. Educating the minds of the youth is the key. I believe that organizing talks on this issue, formal and informal, will go a long way in addressing this scenario. One veritable informal platform is entertainment: the big screen to be precise.

This writer was privileged to watch a sneak preview of a new movie from the stables of Poshworld Productions titled NOT ENOUGH, starring Alex Ekubo, Ebube Nwagbo, Oge  Okoye, Nazo Ekezie, Tina Amuziam, Saraphina Amaechi and Bassey Bonny Michael. The movie is directed by award-winning director, Afe Olumowe. It was produced by Nollywood actress Ebube Nwagbo,co-produced and written by Ogonna Mbonu.

The storyline of the movie dwells basically on youth issues. I recommend this movie to the youth. The movie can also be used as material for youth issues-based workshops and seminars. Also, the youth should make it a priority to watch the movie when it is eventually released for public viewing.

Today's youth need a reality check. Sex is not love. Love is not sex. Both are not interchangeable. Pregnancy is not, and will never be a ticket to forcing marriage on a man who is not prepared for it. Marriage is a good thing. But marriage under duress is a misnomer.

The right priorities over time, strengthen self-esteem, engender self-actualization and guarantee a great future.

Irish father shot dead in a case of mistaken identity by gang men at Spanish holiday resort in front of his family (photos)

An Irish father was shot four times by gang boys at popular Spanish holiday resort, Majorca, in front of his family as his wife pushed their child's pram beside him after unwittingly and unknowingly chatting with a member of the Hutch gang.

A source at the crime scene said to the Sun UK: "It looks like this guy was totally innocent. He chatted for a minute to a Hutch associate, little realizing who it was. Just the usual small talk conversation Irish people have when they meet for the first time on holidays."

One local shop owner who did not wish to be named, described how she held the victim's hand as he lay dying. She said:
"There was a large group of them, the man who was shot, his wife, four of their children, and other adults including a male friend and two other women. There must have been around eight to ten of them in all. They were heading from a nearby hotel to a square where everyone congregates at night for an evening meal and a drink.
"I saw the gunman walk past the shop and heard the shots seconds later before he ran back down the road past the shop towards the beach and a well-known beach bar at the bottom of the road. He had tracksuit bottoms on and a blue tracksuit top with the number 23 in white on the back and the hood on his tracksuit drawn up tightly round his face. It was pandemonium at first. People were screaming and running in all directions.
"The wife of the man that was shot had one of their children who must have been aged around seven in a pushchair that she was wheeling along when the victim was gunned down. He was walking slightly in front of them on his own."That child and another with her must have seen what had happened. Another two children were behind them and wouldn't have seen it and the woman turned round and screamed at them as it happened and that gave them time to run for cover in a side street.
"I know that lady was married to the victim because when we ran out to tend to the injured man she kept on repeating the word 'Wife, Wife.. We took her to one side and I got some water for her and held the man's hand to try to encourage him to keep his eyes from closing while we waited for the ambulance to arrive. He couldn't talk and his eyes started to close and go yellow and then white and his mouth changed colour."
Another local added: "The dead man used to holiday in the area regularly. People have said the gunman got into a car near the beach but he was on his own when he shot his victim. There were no accomplices with him at the time."

A bar owner, who asked not to be named, said:
"I heard three shots but there were apparently four and then saw a man with a blue hoodie pulled tight over his face run by. I didn't realise at first they were gunshots — I thought it was kids playing with firecrackers. But then I heard people screaming and people came rushing into the bar to seek refuge. The victim is dead and still lying in a bodybag on the pavement near my bar. I don't know who he is."
The victim was with his family when he was shot, locals said.

A worker at a restaurant near the scene said:
"There were around five or six children aged between eight and 15. The police said they were the victim's relatives and asked us to look after them while they were with the woman they were questioning."
