| EFCC releases statement on arrest of political blogger, Abubakar Sidiq Usman Posted: 08 Aug 2016 12:55 PM PDT  Political blogger, Abubakar Sidiq Usman of Abusidiqu.com was this morning arrested by anti-graft agency EFCC. This was allegedly in connection with an article titled "EFCC Boss, Magu Commences Total War With Core EFCC Staff" on his website. EFCC has now released a statement, confirming the arrest and explaining why. The statement read; The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC today arrested Mr. Abubakar Sidiq Usman, a blogger, for offences bordering on cyber stalking. The suspect who is the publisher of Abusidiqu.com was picked up at his Kubwa, Abuja home in the early hours of Monday August 8, 2016 by operatives of the EFCC and is currently being questioned over the alleged offence which contravenes sections of the Cyber Crime Act. The suspect has already been offered administrative bail and would be released to his elected sureties. |

| Professor Johnbull’s 'Foreign Fuel' satirises fuel distribution troubles in Nigeria Posted: 08 Aug 2016 12:27 PM PDT  In its characteristic manner, Professor Johnbull in this Episode, entitled 'Foreign Petrol' uses humour to highlight this national malaise, while drawing attention to the dangers the problem poses to the nation if not combated. The drama series which airs episode four tonight on NTA Network, NTA International channel 251 on DSTV and StarTimes, showcases how the greed of a few citizens can compound an otherwise simple challenge and prolong it. Viewers will see how a few people consumed by their lust for money prolong the suffering of their compatriots by their inordinate desire to enrich themselves. Lovers of the riveting drama should watch out to see how the social malaise affects all manner of people, beginning with the shylock hotelier, Etuk, acted by Ime Bishop, Professor Johnbull, himself and a host of others. Viewers should also look out for Flash (Stephen Odimgba), who also joins the bandwagon of those cashing in on the fuel shortage by becoming illicit fuel vendors. Will he succeed in this venture or will he run foul of the country's law regulating fuel distribution? There are the usual comic jabs that viewers of the series have become accustomed to. For instance, viewers will be amused to find out the impact of the continuous interaction of professor Johnbull on characters like Mai Doya (Funky Mallam), among others. Globacom, in a statement, said "the 4th episode of Professor Johnbull is as entertaining as it is educative." The repeat broadcast of the episode will be shown on Friday at 8.30pm on NTA Network pan Nigeria, NTA International on DSTV and NTA on StarTimes. |

The video was also posted on social media site Reddit and users were quick to praise the actions of the officers, saying it'll would have been a different story if it occurred in America . One user said: "Imagine how differently this would have been if this happened in America" another adding "Top of Form British police officers making American police officers look unprofessional, as usual – after 5 minutes of scuffle, the police still warns the guy 'One more step and I will spray you.' Justin Trudeau made an appearance in the background of this photo taken by photographer Marnie Recker. The minister, who was on vacation with his family at the time was about to leave the beach when the bride and groom made their appearance. "When the Prime Minister of Canada accidentally photo bombs a wedding, he does it with impeccable timing and in full Tofino spirit." "Justin was quickly leaving the beach at the same time the bride appeared and started coming down the the stairs. It was her moment and he respectfully stood aside and witnessed her walk down the aisle to her groom." he added. |

All the people whose names were mentioned have denied any involvement. Read the statement from Raymond Dokpesi after the cut... Our attention has been drawn to a report by one Cynthia Whyte of the Reformed Niger Delta Avengers published by Saharareporters.com where an allegation was made to the effect that High Chief Raymond Aleogho Dokpesi is a sponsor of the activities of the Niger Delta Avengers. We want to observe that ordinarily, a baseless accusation by a faceless identity is hardly worthy of a response. It is however unfortunate that the editors at Sahara Reporters allow their platform to be used irresponsibly to disparage innocent citizens with malicious falsehood and conspiracy theories without interrogating their sources on the authenticity of information they disseminate. For the avoidance of doubt, let us state categorically that this is nothing but a blatant concoction of falsehood obviously laced with the political intention of throwing a spanner in the works of our nation wide campaign/consultation with PDP delegates throughout the country in our bid to contest the National Chairmanship of the PDP. There are now 169 different countries involved in the Continental Cup qualifying process for the 2016 Olympic, compared to 143 for London after rules on clothing were relaxed and FIVB say the regulations were loosened to open up the sport culturally.
