Photos: Young boy who was declared "as good as dead" makes remarkable recovery Posted: 01 May 2016 12:52 PM PDT Sadiq's pathetic condition was brought to the attention of the earlier this year with many declaring him as good as dead. I don't have much details about his case except that he developed complications following a surgery and was taken to Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital. The good news is that he is getting better. Aishat Alubankudi shared the good news on Facebook today. Below is what she wrote: "Alhamdulillah, another happy ending for all of us on facebook. I m proud of myself and I m proud of you all. This has motivated me to continue. To hell with those calling me a noisemaker, I wont be distracted again by negative people who cant contribute productively in shaa Allah. I received the following from Sadiq's doctor. Thanks to Malam Isah Abbas Ahmed who is an unsung hero too. Do you remember Sadiq? Someone commented when I posted his foto and video that he is a dead boy alive, I was upset but prayed for today. My prayer has been answered. "Assallam alaykum. Attached are picture of SADIQ the boy that was brought to Ahmadu bello university teaching hospital following surgery in private hospital with complications. You among others contributed immensely for his surgeries and care. He can walk without support now and ready to go home. May Allah reward you here and the hereafter. The second picture was in march, he was weighing 10kg and couldn't walk, now weighing 17kg and walking" |

Meet the Indian women who breastfeed deer and raise them as their own Posted: 01 May 2016 11:57 AM PDT Women of the Bishnoi tribe in Rajasthan, a state in northern India have been taking in orphaned and injured fawns for more than half a century - and couldn't imagine it being any other way. They just don't tend to the animals, they breastfeed them and raise them as one of their young. 'These baby deers are my life and they're like my own children,' said Mangi Devi Bishnoi, 45, a housewife from one of the villages.I feed them milk and food and ensure they're given proper care and attention in the house like all my family members. 'They are not orphans when they have us around, they have new mothers like me who offer them a mother's feed for a healthy life.'It's not so strange when one considers that members of the group are nature worshipping religious folk who grow up living next to jungles and hence in close proximity to animals, they play with the creatures and have no fear of them. Roshini Bishnoi, 21, a student in one of the villages said: 'I have grown up with these little deers. They're like my brother or sister. It is our responsibility to keep them healthy and help them grow. We play with them and we communicate with each other, they understand our language. Neighbour Ram Jeevan Bishnoi, 24, added: 'We do not see them as just animals. They are very much like a family member. 'We take care of everything they may need to live a healthy life. We keep them protected in our house so that dangerous animals like wild dogs do not harm them. If they're injured we keep them safe in our house and treat them like our children. 'My parents have never differentiated between a baby deer and me. We are one family and it is in our religion to protect them.'The community have followed the teachings of Hindu Guru Sri Jambeshwar Bhagwan since the 15th century and religiously obey 29 rules suggested by their Guru one of which is protection and love for nature. The community however views the deer as sacred and accords it special attention. Ram Jeevan said: 'We have followed this way of living for over 550 years with a lot of love and affection. We are very protective of our animals, especially the babies. We are helping them. Feeding them is what they need. We are very proud of what we do.'More photos... |

"TeeBillz and Tiwa Savage, una fall my hand no be small" - Charly Boy writes Posted: 01 May 2016 06:06 AM PDT Charly Boy says he usually stays away from making comments on people's private lives but he had to make an exception in Tiwa and TeeBillz's case. Read what he wrote below...
Commenting on people's private lives is a no go area for me. But when celebrities wash their dirty linen in public I owe my reading fans to comment on trending news and issues. TeeBillz and Tiwa Savage una fall my hand no be small. Una no know say MUTUAL RESPECT IS NON-NEGOTIABLE for marriage, why yeye una self for public like this. Una no know say competition na for business no be for marriage what's the bullshit Haba, una no just try. I know that artiste/celebrities are more fragile than normal people. However they must understand that they are role models to millions of people, so no matter how deep you are hurting, you need to always come out strong. Celebs must understand that their private life is their private life and they must keep it to themselves. It will earn them more respect that way. I know that people stay married because they want to not because the door is locked. Biko keep your shit to yourselves, keep private private. No marriage can escape bad weather even my own, I dey sometimes see Oba for the matter but like I say "marriage is not about being compatible but how couples deal with their incompatibility. Make I no hear una problems for loudspeakers again, joor. AreaFada done talk him own." |
