One officer pushed him against the wall, while another pulled his prostetic legs off just to see if he wasn't "hiding anything" They left him on the ground, his phone and transport card scattered around and his prostetic legs way beyond his reach. Iman Iman wrote on Facebook: "Some school kids died in a car accident. And someone had the guts, to snap a selfie over the body of those kids as they were being prepared to be prayed upon. | Photo: Nigerian man stabs a fellow Nigerian to death in Ghana over toothbrush Posted: 05 May 2016 12:53 PM PDT  A 26-year-old Nigerian has been arrested by police for allegedly stabbing his compatriot to death during a brawl over a used toothbrush at the Beach Drive Road at Nungua in Accra, Ghana. The suspect identified as Marvelous Okere-Son, a trader living together in the same room with other occupants "engaged the deceased" Sunday Orga, 27 in an open fight over his stolen tooth brush on Saturday, April 30, 2016. Speaking to Starr News, the Greater Accra Regional Police spokesperson Afia Tenge, said in the course of the confrontation Okere took a bottle, broke it and stabbed the left rib of the deceased. Reports received indicated that the suspect and deceased were from Delta State, Nigeria and arrived in Ghana only two weeks and were squatting with five other Nigerians. On that fateful day, the victim, Sunday Organ after realizing that his friend Marvelous had taken his tooth brush and had not returned it, he confronted him. This led to a fierce fight. They were separated and told to vacate the room. The two continued the fight outside the compound. The deceased slapped the suspect. In anger Marvelous grabbed an empty wine bottle, broke it and used the sharp edge to stab Organ on the head and back. The victim fell down and lost consciousness. "He bled profusely and when he was rushed to the LEKMA Hospital he passed on," Tenge stated. Upon interrogation, the suspect said he stabbed his colleague because he slapped him. Okere was arrested by the police, charged for murder and is being processed for court. The remain of Orga has since been deposited at the Police Hospital morgue awaiting autopsy while investigation continues. |

"I am calling on my fellow musicians, actors, entertainers and all others who may not have fully considered this cause to join together to help in any way they can."Farrell's family had asked 50 Cent to publicly apologize to their son and donate $10k to the autism advocacy group, after they saw the humiliating video of their son which 50 Cent posted online, mocking his face and calling him a drug user. 50 apologized to Farrell privately and publicly through Page Six and has now donated to the group. |
| Posted: 05 May 2016 12:38 PM PDT  The Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano, today, visited the casualties of a petrol fire explosion that occurred on Atani Road yesterday night in the outskirts of Onitsha, Anambra State. The explosion occurred at about 8 on Wednesday, May 5 at Eva Water Staff settlement, Kara on the way to Atani in Ogbaru Local Government Area. According to reports, the explosion was from fuel stored in jerry-cans. 13 persons received degree of burns. No death was recorded.  The governor who arrived Toronto Hospital, Onitsha where thirteen people who sustained various degrees of burns in the explosion which was erroneously speculated to be a bomb with his aides was quick to allay the fears of the residents on the incident and assure them that the state was safe. He regretted that because of the prevailing scarcity of petrol,Nigerians had resorted to storing fuel in jerry cans in residential areas thereby exposing themselves to extreme danger and warned the people to desist from the habit of storing petrol in their homes as the consequences were often dire. He advised Ndi Anambra to demonstrate greater safety consciousness by keeping all inflammable items away from their homes to avoid unpleasant occurrences. The Governor also undertook to offset the medical bills of the casualties.   |

Bush Snr is planning to stay silent in the race for the Oval Office and the younger former president Bush plans to stay silent as well. George W Bush Snr will not endorse Donald Trump's candidacy for president, his aides have told local media. This marks a first for the 91-year-old, who has endorsed Republicans in the past five elections. Bush had campaigned this year for former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, who exited the race in February and had supported past Republican presidential nominees John McCain in 2008 and Mitt Romney in 2012. Trump is now the presumptive Republican Party representative for the U.S Presidency elections. "At age 91, President Bush is retired from politics," Donald Trump's spokesman Jim McGrath told The Texas Tribune. "He came out of retirement to do a few things for Jeb, but those were the exceptions that proved the rule." His son Jeb Bush dropped out of the GOP presidential race in February. The head of Egypt's Information Service, Ambassador Salah Abdel Sadek has placed the blame for the rise of ISIS squarely at the paws of a well-known cat and mouse. Speaking at Cairo University, he said that the characters encourage extremism and teach children that you can blow people up.  He opined that the cartoon as well as video games and 'violent' movies helped to spark violence and extremism across the Arab world. Speaking to the academic audience, he said that Tom and Jerry contributed to the notion that violence was a 'natural' part of life. According to local media, he said: '[The cartoon] portrays the violence in a funny manner and sends the message that, yes, I can hit him…and I can blow him up with explosives. It becomes set in [the viewers'] mind that this is natural.'  He added that it has become common place for young men to spend hours playing violent video games and that the gamer will be 'happy and content'. They may well enjoy the carnage while it lasts. |

"The Rolling Stones have never given permission to the Trump campaign to use their songs and have requested that they cease all use immediately," a spokesperson for the legendary British band told TIME Wednesday.Trump has been known to play at least two other songs by the Rolling Stones at his rallies: "You Can't Always Get What You Want," "Sympathy for the Devil" and "Brown Sugar." A campaign volunteer told the New Yorker in February that Trump personally curated the playlist, which also includes Elton John and music from "Cats" and "The Phantom of the Opera." | Niger Delta militants blow up Chevron Valve Platform in Delta Posted: 05 May 2016 09:05 AM PDT  The explosion has reportedly halted operations of the oil company in the region. The militant group has released a statement claiming responsibility for the attack. It says the attack is aimed crippling the Nigerian economy. "We want to pass this message to the all international oil companies operating in the Niger Delta that the Nigeria Military can't protect their facilities. | Beyoncé takes a stand for LGBT rights Posted: 05 May 2016 09:00 AM PDT   North Carolina has been drawing the attention of the masses for new legislation that blocks cities and local governments from passing anti-discrimination measures that could protect gay and transgender people. It all began earlier this year when Charlotte passed a decree expanding North Carolina's anti-discrimination laws allowing LGBT people protection in places of public accommodation. The ordinance, which was set to go into effect on April 1st, would allow transgender people to use the bathrooms of the gender they identify as, amongst other progressive rights. Rather than accepting the progression in LGBT rights, that same night, legislators returned to the state house to overrule the ordinance that would ban discrimination against LGBT people. At a special session, North Carolina's General Assembly proposed and passed the House Bill 2 (HB2) — what has now come to be known as the "Bathroom Bill." As The Formation World Tour makes its stop in the Tar Heel state in the midst of such a controversial time, we think it is important for us to bring attention to those who are committed to being good and carrying on the message of equality in this core of controversy. | Lekki suicidal man finally rescued by LASEMA & Lagos Fire Service men (Photos) Posted: 05 May 2016 08:41 AM PDT   The Lekki Suicidal Man has finally been rescued. According to Twitter user @AlmunsurE, who shared the photos, officials from Lagos State Emergency Management Agency and Lagos Fire Service rescued the man when they arrived at the scene. He tried to cut himself but was stopped and taken to Eti-Osa primary health care centre where he is currently being treated by doctors. When questioned, He said his name is Fredrick Gino from Cameroon and he doesn't know how he got to Nigeria. See more photos after the cut....       |
