Posted: 01 Jun 2016 12:50 PM PDT Paul Hayward, who is a cancer sufferer and is the Chief sports writer of Daily Telegraph UK has revealed how Lionel Messi gave him a signed Barcelona Jersey after he wrote a beautiful piece in November 2015 titled "How the genius of Lionel Messi and Dan Carter gave me hope in fighting cancer" He tweeted a picture of Lionel Messi's signed Jersey and wrote 'Lionel Messi sent this signed shirt after I mentioned him in a piece about illness. So kind. Thanks to all involved.' Below are excerpts of his article on Lionel Messi that prompted the kind gesture. "Then came the sharpest ray of light. Barcelona v Bayern Munich at Camp Nou, in May. On the screen in a room short on cheer, Lionel Messi collected a pass on his left foot, turned inside then out in an impossibly narrow channel and sent Jerome Boateng, the Bayern defender, falling sideways like a felled tree. Out came Manuel Neuer, the world's best goalkeeper, to quash the threat with a giant, raised arm. And Messi chipped him. Chipped one of the biggest and most intimidating men in football. "As the ball bounced into the net Rafinha, another Bayern defender, went with it, his body a tangle of thwarted desperation. The camera panned round the crowd to capture the sense of wonder. A man in an Argentina shirt and Barcelona scarf was having a religious experience. On the commentary, Martin Tyler said: "Only football can make you feel like this." I felt myself rise from my chair, and illness fell away. "That moment will not leave my memory, because it made the world feel full of possibilities again. And to think: philosophers have searched for uplifting human truths in the most complex of areas, yet here was a dink from the boot of Lionel Messi casting light across the world. |
Photos: Abuja-based woman missing after she reportedly went on a road trip Posted: 01 Jun 2016 12:41 PM PDT Below is the post shared on the Facebook page created to find the missing mother of four: "The lady in the pictures is Charity Aiyedogbon aka Deepdeal Chacha De Hammer on her Facebook page. She lives in Abuja and is separated from her husband David Aiyedogbon with 4 children who lives with their father. Charity has been missing since 9 May 2016 when she supposedly put out a blast at her FaceBook page that she was going on a road trip. Her cell phones 08188881301 and 09031420216 have been switched off even though we have been able to ascertain from her phone records and obtained that the last originating call from her phone (08188881301) as traced was on the 9th of May, 2016, the no 08027786161 belonging to a Rabi Mohammed. The last received call on her phone for same day was from 08032180798; this has been listed on true caller as Amani Lounge. A couple of friends went to her apartment; House 26, 5th avenue, gwarimpa, two weeks after no one heard from her and were able to gain access in the company of a close male friend, her landlady and some security personnel. The facts discovered were; 1. Her apartment was unruffled but no apparent packing was done for a trip 2. What appeared to be a fresh pot of soup which was now bad was on the burner, untouched 3. The gate man who also hasn't seen her said a gentleman came to install CCTV camera in company of a male friend in her apartment a few days after she went missing but when they tried to reach her, her phones were switched off. According to a close friend, she was having CCTV installed because she had been receiving threats recently so we fear that she may have been abducted (but this cannot be confirmed as yet) A report has been duly filed at the NPF station Gwarimpa, 3rd Avenue and to date nothing appears to have been done to ascertain her whereabouts. We are calling on anyone who may have seen her or spoken with her in the last 3 weeks to come forward with relevant information. We can be reached on this page" More of her photos below... |

The shocking story of Mrs Eve: How she got rid of fibroid naturally without surgery Posted: 01 Jun 2016 11:09 AM PDT My Story My name is Eve Abbey and I am 37 years old. I live in Ikoyi, Nigeria Nigeria. I found out I had fibroids when I was trying to get pregnant and it was making me feel rejected and forsaken after 8 years of marriage, and during this years I had visited so many hospitals with different scan and test, but this very day I went to visit a friend, her children was just running up and down she was shouting joy and Justinian leave that place (she was talking to her daughters) when I got home being alone I felt bad not because she was calling her daughters but because I don't have any child to call, this led me to hospital just to know what was going on again in which I have visited hospital times without number The result of the scan shows I have 3 large fibroids, which the doctor said was preventing me from getting pregnant. I had a surgery in October 2007 to take them out, but I was bleeding so much during the surgery, they ended it quickly and left 2 smaller ones in my uterus.I was in hospital for almost 3 weeks, and I had to spend 12 weeks at home recovering, due to complications. Visit here to know more I Felt Rejected and Lonely I went to hospital that day after I left my friend's house as I was saying to really know what was going on in my system again that was preventing me to get pregnant and also to complain about series of problem I had like pains etc. By the time I got to the hospital, I went for scan it was discovered that a new fibroid had grown, so I realized the fibroids might get worse. I was directed down the frightening path to the operating room after a diagnostic revealed a rapid growing fibroid that was causing my severe pain and other problems. I was scared when I heard of fibroids again knew what I went through during the first surgery and was tearfully shocked at the news. I Ran away with Fears My doctor insisted that a myomectomy was my only treatment option. There was a likely risk that a hysterectomy would be performed instead if things didn't go as planned during the surgery, but I wouldn't know until I woke up! So I would end up with painful incisions, noticeable scars, having to take pain medication, spending days in the hospital and months recovering, etc. All I could think to myself was, "I can't do this!" The life I loved and worked so hard to have was already significantly compromised and it would never be the same again if I had this surgery. So I decided to turn back and run before I reached the end of the path to the operating room and take a chance to find an alternative on my own. Meanwhile my symptoms continued to get worse. I began to lose feelings in my thighs from the fibroid pressing on my nerves, the pain and pressure were almost unbearable, my energy seemed to disappear more every day and my abdomen continued to enlarge and feel heavy. It looked like I was pregnant and just starting to show. I was forced to take a medical leave of absence from my job with no pay and no sick time left to use for compensation. With loan to pay back in the office, and living expenses to pay. Thankfully, the wealth of knowledge I gained from researching the internet on sites such as this one eventually led me to information on how to remove fibroids naturally without surgery Office Rejection Our office health insurance refused to pay for my further treatment when they were told that I refused to go through knife, this now make me to be more desperate to find easy and affordable treatment, this very faithful day I came across this website www.topnaturalhealthcare.comI was inspired to read more about it because it's in line with what am looking for. Without no further delay I started with Fibroid remover program , I must say, when I saw the price, I thought it was too expensive, but my husband insisted that I get it. My husband always tells me life is more important than clothes and other material things, so if you need to spend some money to make yourself feel good, you should go for it. I am so glad I did!!! Good News After 5 days of fibroid remover treatment it was like years back when I was in high institution that I never dream of having fibroid, I no longer feel the pains. It was hard to believe what I was experience even though I just spent Days in the program.Every pains I experienced immediately stopped and went away within that few days. See how it all happened Am so happy to tell you this, that my fibroids had gone, the one that was growing inside my uterus and the other two were inside the walls of my uterus. The largest fibroid was the size of a grapefruit. When I got my results back from a scan I went for, the result shows that I only had one fibroid inside the wall of my uterus and that it was the size of a small apple. So two fibroids completely dissolved away and the largest one was the size of a small apple instead of a grapefruit. Since I wasn't having any problems with my periods and 2 out of the 3 fibroids were gone, I decided to just continue with the program and go on with my life. At this moment, it's been a little over three months since I had fibroid treatment and what a dramatic difference it has made in my life. . I returned back to work full-time two months ago after feeling enough relief to do so. So far almost every fibroid-related symptom I had has either gone away completely or improved a great deal. I think this is amazing, and I believe that fears of incisions, scaring, complications and long painful recovery times are now concerns of the past with this new natural way of removing fibroid. There are not enough words to explain the happiness I have now. I wish I knew about this program when I first had fibroids but as the saying goes "Things happen for a reason". I am so thrilled with my experience that I inspire others to experience for themselves the profound transformation this fibroid treatment program offers. I strongly recommend you visit: www.topnaturalhealthcare.com in case you know someone who have fibroid, get help here =>http://bit.ly/1Y0Hoi3 It has changed my life and now I'm free! |

Posted: 01 Jun 2016 09:47 AM PDT Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima has written to the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase requesting for an immediate investigation into the sources of campaign posters bearing his picture and that of Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, aspiring for the 2019 Presidency with Shettima as President. The Governor said while he wasn't worried about whatever political objective aimed by those who "fraudulently" produced and pasted the posters in many parts of the FCT and Kaduna on Sunday, that his major concern was his believe that sponsors of the posters had a "wicked agenda" of undermining the current cohesion between the Borno State Government and Buhari led administration "working together in the last one year for the collective goal of ending the Boko Haram insurgency". Shettima's letter clearly alluded to an openly bad relationship between his Government during his first term and the Goodluck Jonathan administration from 2011 to 2015, a situation the Governor's office, in 2014, attributed to an executed plot by political group which allegedly worked against collaboration between the Shettima Government and the Jonathan administration in fighting the Boko Haram insurgency making the insurgents to grow stronger. The letter to the IGP with reference number BOSLO/ABJ/14/IV/407 and signed by Permanent Secretary in charge of the Borno Government House and Security, Mr Ahmed Sanda was dated May 29, 2016, dispatched from the Governor's office. It read: "I have been directed by His Excellency, the Executive of Borno State, Kashim Shettima to bring to the IGP's notice, dozens of fraudulently produced posters bearing his name and picture claiming he is aspiring for the 2019 Presidency. The posters have been pasted on some routes in Abuja and Kaduna. 2. Governor Kashim Shettima regards this development as a highly mischievous plot that is aimed at destabilizing the emerging peace in Borno State through creation of unnecessary political tension while on the other hand it might aim at creating gap between the Borno State Government and the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration (which just marked it's first year in office) with a wicked agenda of undermining the current cohesion between the two arms of Government working together in the last one year for the collective goal of ending the Boko Haram insurgency. 3. From a different information we have gathered, the posters are suspected to be the handiwork of a particular group of politicians trying to set the Borno State Government and the APC in the State against the National headquarters of the APC and the Federal Government so as to lay a ground for a plan by the group of politicians to join the APC in Borno State and hijack the party's machinery. 4. His Excellency, Governor Kashim Shettima has directed me to most respectfully request the following: i. The Inspector General of Police authorizes an immediate investigation to establish the source of the posters and the purpose for which the plot is meant with appropriate steps taken to arrest and prosecute those behind the posters under relevant provisions of the law. ii. Any person at all seen pasting the posters in whatever form and on any place in all parts of Nigeria be it private or public should be arrested and prosecuted by the Nigeria Police Force for impersonation and attempts to undermine public peace and other provisions of law. 5. Governor Kashim Shettima finds these posters embarrassing and assures the Inspector General of Police that whoever is seen pasting any of them any where, does so without his prior knowledge and approval. 6. The Governor is of the strong opinion that what is needed in the country now is for all Nigerians and tiers of Government, particularly the Borno State Government, to support and work with the President Muhammadu Buhari Administration in a clearly determined effort to restore peace in Borno State. 7. Governor Shettima feels Nigeria neither needs nor deserves ridiculous and immoral campaign and it's associated distractions for 2019 elections when the sitting President has just marked his first year in office managing serious challenges inherited from the previous administration" the letter reads. The letter was received by the IGP's office on Tuesday and copied to the Director-General of the Department of State Security. It is not clear if any arrest has been made yet. See the letter below... In the process, they were able to rescue quite a number of abducted persons, arrested suspected Boko Haram terrorists, recovered weapons and equipment. The troops of 81 Battalion and 251 Task Force Battalion, 25 Task Force Brigade on 30th May 2016, received 79 persons who claimed to have been kept captives by Boko Haram terrorists at Ngwalimiri village but escaped at their location. They comprised 12 men, 24 women, 31 children and 12 infants. All of them are undergoing preliminary investigation and screening to determine their status before onward movement to Internally Displaced Persons camp for rehabilitation. During an encounter at Moutu specifically, a soldier sustained an injury on the forehead, while 5 Boko Haram terrorists were killed by the troops, while a few others were suspected to escape with gun shot wounds. The troops recovered 3 locally made guns. The advancing troops linked up with their counterparts of 25 Task Force Brigade at Gombori village and rescued 157 persons escaping from Boko Haram terrorists captivity. The rescued persons comprised 47 women, 91 children, 19 men. They are currently undergoing preliminary investigation and thorough screening to also determine their status. Preliminary investigation confirmed that he hailed from Maradhi village in Niger Republic and added that he was not alone as there were Boko Haram terrorists spies in Maiduguri. While efforts have been intensified to track and arrest his other accomplices, Musa has since been handed over to Joint Interrogation Committee (JIC). Troops of 22 Brigade Garrison and their Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Dikwa have also embarked on routine and fighting patrols to maintain security on construction and rehabilitation works of public buildings and infrastructure that would facilitate return of public officials and people back to their ancestral homes. Obi mo! A tale of Owerri’scutest couple and Café 322. #PayCode322Series Posted: 01 Jun 2016 09:25 AM PDT Based on true events. Even after they got married, He never stopped calling her his girlfriend; for him, it had nice ring to it, and speaking of rings, her friends are still envious. She hated when he sang that "Baby girl my love is hotter than the sun in Sokoto" but the love in his face when he grabbed her hair dryer for a microphone was magic. Although she was Yoruba and he was Igbo, He taught her how to make a proper pot of 'Ofe-Owerri' while he never failed to double lick his fingers when she made him Efo-Oriro with kpomo and other obstacles, it reminded him of their undergraduate years when they visited Buka 322... This morning, he sneaked out of bed. She peeped with half closed eyes like she didn't have a clue. They both dressed up in total silence, stealing occasional glances with a straight face. The ride to work was weirdly silent; the radio just buzzed away. At work, she peered at her phone screen, there were no notifications from him, Game on! 7:04pm. Exhausted, she did the locks and got into the house… "so he didn't remember" she puzzled in her head while taking off her shoes. She slumped on the bed, something definitely bounced with her, it was a red gown with a note that read "Slip this on and meet me at the café 322". Filled with excitement, she dressed up and slammed on the accelerator. "You didn't think I would forget our anniversary did you?" He said with food in his mouth, the pounded yam and Egusi soup he ordered was getting the best of him. "Was that what the awkward silence this morning was for?" she quizzed. "Yemisi darling, you know I could ask the same right?" He replied. "Emeka, don't go there, you didn't kiss me this morning" she stared blankly at his face. "Baby, you know I miss those lips that all I pity right now is the lipstick" he replied while she blushed a bucket full. "Happy anniversary obi mo, babyIma no sosogikam choro na this life" she said, romantically accentuating her unpolished Igbo. She remembered how many times he taught her that they meant "You know it's just you I want in this life" On the ride back home, He mimickedBanky W while she eased in to Chidinma as they turned the car into an 'All I want is you' karaoke. As soon as they got home, He got in the closet, searching for the envelope he had earlier felt in his jacket. He ripped it open, It was funny that it contained a Paycode, a PIN and it read "For those brogues you wanted to buy." He had slipped a similar envelope with a Paycode in her bag and it read "Omalicha, For that Louboutin shoe you gush over!" For them, it was just as easy as;download the Verve World app, register, generate the Paycode on the app or simply dial *322*8*AMOUNT#. That night, the duvet struggled to maintain its sanity and the light bulbs are still begging to be turned on. |

Photo: Armed robber gets apprehended after receiving N5k sympathy gift from his victim Posted: 01 Jun 2016 08:57 AM PDT 26 year old armed robbery suspect, Ifeanyi Smart, has been arrested inside a hospital around Mile Two, Lagos state, after he received N5000 sympathy gift from a man named Cyril Uba whom he had robbed at his residence on Bola Lateef crescent, Lakeview Estate, Amuwo Odofin recently. Ifeanyi carried out the robbery attack alongside his accomplice named Deji who is presently on the run. The Nation reports that Ifeanyi confessed to have gone with his accomplice to rob Cyril when he sustained some injuries during a fight with his victim. "As soon as we entered the man's room, I tried to hit him with an axe I was holding but he blocked it with his hand and gave me a head blow. I lost balance and he took the axe from me and hit it on Deji. So, we ran out of the house with serious wounds and the man was chasing us. Later in the morning, I went to AMC Hospital around Mile Two to treat my injury. I did not know that the man was also being treated in the same hospital. At the hospital I was shouting that I was hungry and I don't have money. The man who was in another ward heard someone screaming and sent N5, 000. He did not know I was the one and I did not know him either. I really did not know the house we went to because it was Deji who took me there. So, after collecting the money, I decided to go and thank the good man who gave a stranger N5,000 to eat. After thanking the man, I went back to the place they were treating me. That's where I was before the police came and arrested me." According to a Police source, the Victim had gone the same hospital to treat injuries he sustained during the attack. On sighting Ifeanyi, the victim immediately called on his househelp who said she noticed that one of the robbers had a tattoo with the inscription, "the Lord is my Shepherd." "When the man gave him the money. He did not know it was the people who have robbed him until the suspect went and thanked him. As soon as the suspect approached the man, he saw the tattoo and also saw his injury, which was at the same spot he hit him. So, the man called the maid to come and gave her another N5, 000 to go and give the suspect in order to identify him. As soon as the maid saw the suspect, she recognised him as the person who tied her. That was how we arrested him," the police source said The Lagos state police command spokesperson, Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the incident and said that efforts were being made to arrest Ifeanyi's accomplice who is presently on the run. |
