Alleged N4.7bn fraud: EFCC arrests Gov. Fayose’s aide, Abiodun Agbele...Fayose responds! Posted: 27 Jun 2016 01:03 PM PDT An aide of Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti state, Abiodun Agbele has been arrested by the EFCC over allegations of aiding and abetting Fayose to launder part of the N4.7 billion he received from the Office of the former National Security Officer, Sambo Dasuki in June 2014. EFCC is accusing Agbele of receiving N4.7 billion from former Minister of state for Defence, Musiliu Obankoro, and handing it over to Fayose. Agbele was arrested in Lagos last night and is being detained at the Lagos office of the antigraft agency. Read Fayose's statement on the matter after the cut... Our attention has been drawn to the arrest of Mr Abiodun Agbele by the EFCC and we wish to say that we encourage the EFCC to carry out its investigations without politics as it is being done now. It must be pointed out that at no time was Mr Abiodun Agbele invited by the EFCC, and if he had been invited, he would have honoured the invitation. Therefore, there is nothing to celebrate in his arrest if it is not political. As already pointed out, Governor Ayodele Fayose does not have anything to do with any fund from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA). He has stated how his election was funded and Zenith Bank that he said funded his election has not denied doing so. Also, the person said to have been arrested is an adult and will defend himself when the time comes. Subjecting him to media trial as EFCC has been doing since the inception of this government will only give our adversaries momentary sense of joy. We await reports of EFCC investigations and we hope that the anti-corruption agency will be civil enough to allow an open and transparent trial in competent court of law and not media trial just to get at Governor Fayose because of his uncompromising stance against the misrule of the APC/Buhari led federal government. Whatever stories being circulated by the EFCC and its political allies can at best be regarded as rumour as we were all in Nigeria when Nigerians were told that $700m cash was found in the House of Mrs Diezani Allison Madueke and the story turned out to be lie. Finally, like we have maintained, Governor Fayose will remain resolute in making his opinions known on national issues and will not be intimidated. |

Economy: Why the rain is beating us - President Buhari Posted: 27 Jun 2016 12:25 PM PDT President Buhari says Nigeria is paying dearly for incompetence in managing high revenue that accrued from oil, particularly over the past decade, and for allowing the decay of critical infrastructure. Speaking at the State House, Abuja, today, while receiving the Chief Global CEO of Unilever, Paul Polman, President Buhari said his administration is working very hard to change the structure of the Nigerian economy battered by several years of mismanagement. ''We refused to save for the rainy day. Now the rain is beating us. No money, no savings, nothing. And we are thoroughly wet from the rains," he said.President Buhari said Nigeria was paying the price for turning herself into a mono economy, but assured that the country would soon be able to feed herself, and even export, with the current emphasis placed on agriculture. He assured that the Federal Government would fast-track the implementation of strategies to ease doing business and attract more investors into Nigeria. "We want to create jobs, and supporting manufacturing is one way to do it. As soon as we have stabilized our budget, I would personally be interested in the manufacturing sector, particularly in the generation of essential raw materials," the President said. |
Alleged cabal in the presidency: Femi Adesina replies Saraki Posted: 27 Jun 2016 12:22 PM PDT The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, today released a statement where he alleged that there is now a government within the government of President Buhari who have seized the apparatus of Executive powers to pursue their nefarious agenda. Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, has now released a statement replying Saraki. The statement reads ... President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, claims there is "now a government within the government of President Buhari", which has allegedly seized the apparatus of Executive powers to pursue a nefarious agenda. This claim by Senator Saraki would have been more worth the while, if it had been backed with more information. |

She thought fibroid surgery was the best and last option, but she was wrong Posted: 27 Jun 2016 09:27 AM PDT Mrs. Chinasa, a big business owner tells story of her fibroid pains and the recent surgery for the removal which she thought was her last option. She used this medium to advice ladies who are going through such pains. Read her story after the cut... "I choose to tell you my story today. Number one, I keep everything in my life under wraps because of the negativity out there. 90 percent of my life doesn't make it to the Internet. I've been through a lot in my life but I'll let you read all the truth in my book and watch on my reality show "Building Your Business". A lot of people send me DMs and emails saying how perfect I am, how they want to be like me, how strong I am; Asking how I manage to run 20 businesses and take care of my 2 kids at the same time. I promised myself to always keep going to encourage the people I inspire. This powerful string woman you see is not perfect. I have my pains, I cry too especially when I'm misjudged, have been betrayed and stabbed in the back severally by friends but I promised myself I was going to make a change for ladies who are determined to make it through genuinely, so I put all my talent to use. When I had My Son, Eric, I bled all through the pregnancy, not knowing I was even pregnant till about 5 months. 3 years after I had him, I was having stomach pains and bleeding heavily through my periods. I went to my gynecologist, he said I had 3 small fibroids and a big size one. We agreed to take them out through laparoscopic surgery. I woke up thinking it was done. He said it was on my womb, that I would lose my womb if he did it. I didn't sign for them to open me up, that they had to do it through major surgery. he said one was on my bladder which made me pee myself when I cough in public and it have me terrible back pains and leg pains. He advised me to have another baby before the surgery. Years after, I got pregnant with my daughter (Eunice) despite the consequences, my partner insisted I had the baby. I found out I was pregnant at 4 months like the first time cause I was having periods due to the fibroids. At 5 months, I was bedridden, I had a lot of pains from the pregnancy. I went to my gynecologist. he said I had something called "Red degeneration" where the fibroids suck the blood from the baby and doesn't make it grow. The same day, I found out I had gestational diabetes. I thought I was going to lose the baby, they changed my diet, I went through non-stop pains till about 7 months, later the baby started growing well and so were the 4 fibroids. They put my sugar levels on check during this period." To cut the story short, i thank God for my partner and mother-in-law who stood by me all through; taking care of me and with prayers. They never doubted me once. http://bit.ly/1TXksLm It happened again but this time, I couldn't hesitate anymore and they took the 4 fibroids out and saved my womb. I thought that was the end of it but to my greatest surprise, I started experiencing the symptoms again after 3years have gone and went for another checkup and guess what, It's unbelievable, Fibroids again!!! I started sorting for other means of getting rid of this threatening killer disease, not until I stumbled into this natural therapy on the site. I had my doubt at first but I tell you I took the risk. Today it's been over five years from then and nothing like such symptoms have surfaced, not to talk of fibroid itself. WHAT ARE FIBROIDS THEN? Fibroids are muscular benign (not cancerous) tumors that grow in the wall of the uterus (womb). Another medical term for fibroids is "leiomyoma" or "myoma". Fibroids can grow as a single tumor, or many in the uterus. They can be as small as an apple seed or as big as a grapefruit. they tend to grow bigger in size during pregnancy. WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS? Ø Heavy bleeding (which can be heavy enough to cause anemia) or painful periods Ø Feeling of fullness in the pelvic area (lower stomach area) Ø Enlargement of the lower abdomen Ø Frequent urination Ø Pain during sex Ø Lower back pain Ø Complications during pregnancy and labour, including a six-time greater risk of cesarean section Ø Reproductive problems, such as infertility etc. For the Natural Way out visit: http://bit.ly/1TXksLm DO YOU KNOW THAT… Women with fibroids are more likely to have problems during pregnancy and delivery? This doesn't mean there will be problems. The most common problems seen in pregnant women with fibroids are: Ø Cesarean section. The risk of needing a C-section is six times greater for women with fibroids. Ø Baby is breech. The baby is not positioned well for vaginal delivery. Ø Labor fails to progress. Ø Placental abruption. The placenta breaks away from the wall of the uterus before delivery. When this happens, the fetus does not get enough oxygen. Ø Preterm delivery. Would you like to join the thousands of Nigerian women who have been set free of fibroid? Follow this link: http://bit.ly/1TXksLm to know how She got rid of the Fibroids Naturally and avoided going for another surgery. |
"If you see someone with acne, please mind your business!" OAP Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi writes Posted: 27 Jun 2016 09:21 AM PDT Beat FM OAP Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi took to Instagram to share her battle with acute acne. She also described as insensitive, the constant unsolicited advice, questions and suggestions that women who suffer from acne face daily. She wrote; "Before you say something insensitive to anyone about the pimples on their face or give some unsolicited advice on how the person can get clear skin.....read this ! The 1st pic on the left was what my face looked like on both sides - January and February this year. I was very worried about it and I reluctantly took the advice of my dermatologist to take a blood test. What does blood have to do with acne ? The results showed I was over producing a particular hormone and the result was the massive pimples on my face. It had nothing to do with oil or groundnut or all the other mythical things people usually say cause acne. I reluctantly did a face peel and had to take meds to adjust the hormone level (not accutane) . The middle pic was March and the pic on the right is May/June. I currently don't have a single bump on my face. I have scars and that's fine with me . Scars over acne any day!! Everywhere I went (Bank, eatery , events etc) people (mostly strangers) would walk up to me to prescribe all sorts ! From urine to sperm to "facials" to special soaps and concoctions. If you see someone with acne , please mind your business! Especially if you are not close to the person. It's very frustrating to have conversations about your own face with total strangers every day. Shoutout to my dermatologist for convincing me to try because I had already given up ! He is tagged on the pics" |
