Horrified couple discover decomposed body in cupboard after moving into home

A young couple from the Bronx, New York got a nasty surprise when they moved into their dream home. An unpleasant Smell led them to a cupboard where they discovered the decomposed remains of a man along with a note, apparently left by the killer, that read: "Sorry for the smell."

According to the New York Daily News , they were allowed to move in because the landlord had not seen Sidney Harris (pictured above), the original tenant, for some time. But on Monday night, ex-convict Harris, 64, was found dead and wrapped in plastic and sheets in a cupboard by the couple.

The couple spotted a foot sticking out of a pile of blankets, investigators arrived to find blood and the bizarre note.

A tenant thought to be the building manager told police he thought Harris was in hospital and "wouldn't be back" while a neighbour said the smell was so bad they could not sleep.


Harris is understood to have died from multiple skull fractures but it is not clear how long he had been dead. A murder investigation is underway.

He goes on to explain: "Jonathan Quiñonez, a 27 year-old former model from Brussels quit the job he hated and started to travel the world.


"But to put his mom's mind at ease, because all moms do worry, and to assure her that he is fine, he is documenting his journeys on Instagram."

Jonathan documents his project in the Instagram handle @momimfine, he wrote "Whatever your age is, if you have a latin mom and a passion for adventure, you will have to find a way to tell her that you are fine. This is my way."

Robbers steal man's car in Lagos (photos)

A gang of six robbers, three of them armed with guns, stole a Matrix's Toyota car on Fadeyi-Jibowu bridge in Lagos on Monday May 30th. The victim, Ugochukwu Macmancy Okere, shared the sad incident on his Facebook wall. He wrote;
"Hello, my name is Ugochukwu Macmancy Okere and I want to first of all thank God for saving the lives of me, my brother, and (2) of my friends. At 1 am Monday morning 30th of May, 2016, we were attacked by a gang of (6) guys, of which (3) were armed, in (2) different vehicles on Fadeyi-Jibowu Bridge, off Ikorodu road, Lagos.
It was raining that night when all of a sudden the car in front me began to slow down, I decided to slow down to because I didn't know what was happening in front. All of a sudden there was a guy pointing a gun at me. He corked it and asked me to step out of the vehicle and surrender my phone and car key, two other armed guys also asked my friends to surrender their phones and wallets too, and they made us lay down on the bridge under the rain, while I was on the ground two of the armed guys were contemplating on whether to shoot me or not, one of my friends was busy speaking in tongues, my brother was pleading with them to leave us in one piece. Then they entered the car and drove away. I lost my Toyota Matrix. The Registration number/Plate no is SB 249 KJA, Color Blue. Please help me be on the look-out in your area; the case has been reported to the police station. Prince's cause of death has been revealed: he died of an overdose

"Prince died from an opioid overdose ... it's now official from the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office, and the drug is even more powerful than Percocet.
The M.E. performed toxicology tests on the singer and determined the singer died of an accidental overdose of Fentanyl -- a powerful synthetic opiate that is more potent than morphine ... often used for cancer patients to deal with severe pain.
Fentanyl is often used to treat people who have developed a tolerance to less powerful opiates such as Percocet and morphine.

And this is important ... there were several reports Prince had either AIDS or HIV, but the report says there were no "other significant conditions" that led to his death ... clearly refuting the stories. 

According to the report ... Prince was discovered fully dressed ... wearing a black cap, black shirt, gray undershirt, black pants, black boxer briefs and black socks.

Also interesting ... Prince weighed a petite 112 lbs and stood 5'3" at the time of his death. Prince was addicted to Percocet.

His addiction was so bad his people called a rehab doctor in California to get him emergency help. The doctor's son flew out to Minnesota and was in the Paisley Park compound -- with a backpack filled with synthetic opioids -- when the 57-year-old singer was found dead. The doctor's son, who is not himself a doctor, denies giving Prince any of the pills.

Ilkay Gundogan joins Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund

Pep Guardiola has gotten down to the business of recruitment at Manchester City and his first buy is Ilkay Gundogan who has joined from Borussia Dortmund on a four-year deal for a £21million fee.
 Speaking to Manchester City's official website, the central midfielder said:
 'I'm thrilled to have signed for Manchester City.When I learned of City's interest my heart was set on coming here and things have moved very quickly.

Oyo state Govt bans smoking in public places, offenders liable to 6 months in jail

It is now an offence to smoke in public places in Oyo state as the state House of Assembly today passed a bill banning smoking in public places in the state.

The "Bill to Regulate Smoking in Public Places and for Connected Purposes'' which was sponsored by Segun Ajanaku and Mr Segun Olaleye, representing Ibadan South-West II and Ibadan North II constituencies, respectively, provides three to six months imprisonment or fine of between N15, 000 and N50, 000 for anyone found guilty of contravening the law.

According to the bill, public places where smoking has been banned includes shopping centers, restaurants, public toilets, cinemas, hospitals, creches, schools and public transportation vehicles within the state.

The bill stipulates a fine of N15, 000 or three month imprisonment or both for first time offenders while any person guilty of repeated act would be liable to a N50, 000 fine or six months imprisonment or both.

The bill also stipulates that any person found guilty of smoking in the presence of a child in a manner that exposes smoke to be injurious to the child, would be liable to a month imprisonment with an option of N15, 000 or both.

The bill states that any person who repeatedly violates the provision of not smoking in the presence of a child will be liable to one year imprisonment with an option of not less than N100, 000 or both. It makes it compulsory for any person involved with the management of a public place to put a 'No-Smoking' sign in conspicuous areas.

It states that refusal to place the sign or symbol by a corporate body, director, manager, company secretary or any person concerned in the management of the corporate body will be liable to N250, 000 fine upon conviction.

According to the provisions of the bill, any person found guilty of not putting up a 'No-Smoking' sign would be liable to six months imprisonment or N100,000 or other non-custodial punishment that the court may deem fit.

Mohammed Ali rushed to hospital with respiratory problem

Boxing legend Mohammed Ali has been hospitalised after suffering a respiratory issue. His spokesman, Bob Gunnel in a written statement confirmed that the 75-year-old was under medical care and described his condition as "fair" and that he'd require a brief stay at the hospital. He wrote:
"Ali, who suffers from Parkinson's disease, is being treated by his team of doctors and is in fair condition."

FG scraps post UTME as JAMB pegs cutoff mark at 180

Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, today announced the scrapping of post UTME examinations organized by various Universities for prospective students who partake in JAMB examinations.

Speaking at the opening of the 2016 Combined Policy Meeting on Admissions to Universities, Polytechnics and other higher institutions in Nigeria, Adamu said the Federal government had confidence in the examination conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), adding that there was no need for other examination to be conducted by universities after JAMB.

 "As far as I am concerned, the nation has confidence in what JAMB is doing. The universities should not be holding another examination and if the universities have any complain against JAMB let them bring it and then we address it. If JAMB is qualified enough to conduct tests and they have conducted test then there will be no need to conduct another test for students to gain admission"he said

Meanwhile JAMB authorities has put the cutoff mark for admission into all Tertiary institutions at 180. Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of JAMB, Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, announced this today at the event.
"180 is given, no institution will go below 180 this year, And some universities can go above it, I know University of Ife will not go below 200 and University of Lagos will not go below 200 and also UI. All these ones stand but 180 as bench mark for others. This year we have more than enough candidates, we have over 1.5 million candidates so we will get enough candidates to take in all the schools if they are serious. Re-distribution is already ongoing, because it is embedded in the registration procedure."he said

Ogoni cleanup: We did everything possible to make GEJ implement the UNEP report but he did not- Amaechi

Minister of Transport and former Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, today, said he did everything possible as the governor of Rivers state in the last administration, including fasting and prayer, to prevail on the former President Goodluck Jonathan to implement the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Report, that was released by the UN to give remedial direction to the cleanup exercise of Ogoni land.

Amaechi said this during the flag-off of the Ogoni cleanup exercise by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo today June 2nd.
"We did everything possible as a sitting government to get our brother and our leader, the former President to gt make the president implement the UNEC report, everything. I mean everything including going to church to pray but the UNEC report was not implemented. There is no way the cleanup exercise will not create jobs. The micro economics in Ogoniland will change. "I didn't know or read anything, all I know about is playing football"- Lionel Messi defends himself at court trial

Lionel Messi insisted to the Judge in a Barcelona court that he knew nothing about evading €4m in tax from image rights as he was only focused on football and trusted his father and lawyers to handle the financial aspect of his career.

The Barcelona FC Star is being tried in court for tax evasion totaling €4million and together with his father, Jorge Horacio Messi, declined to take questions from the state prosecutors but gave testimony in the court in Barcelona claiming ignorance of his tax affairs, the same defense strategy he used in 2013 while in court for tax evasion.

He and his father Jorge stand accused of defrauding Spain of over €4million in taxes by using offshore companies in Uruguay and Belize to conceal image rights earnings in the period 2007-2009.
"I didn't know anything, all I know about is playing football and winning. I left it all to my Dad," Messi said, wearing a dark suit and tie. I only knew that sponsors would pay X amount of money, that I had to do adverts, photos and things like that.'' continued Messi, according to quotes gotten by Mirror Sports.
"I never read anything... I would sign where [the lawyers] said. I signed [the adidas contract] when I was 18, I was in another world."
Jorge Messi, had earlier said he didn't realise the Belize company that managed image rights deals didn't pay taxes in Spain, and that he never informed his son, Messi of the details of sponsorship deals saying all he's ever wanted to do was to make Messi's life easier..
"Since the start of Leo's career I only tried to make his life easier," he said. Leo knew nothing of these companies. He didn't read the contracts. They needed his signature, he went and signed but he didn't read anything and nor did anyone explain it to him."

Samson Siasia led Nigeria U-23 lose 0-1 to S.Korea At Suwon Tourney

South Korea, hosts of the 2016 Suwon Invitational Tournament defeated Nigeria U-23s team led by Samson Siasia 1-0 in the opening game of the Tournament today.

The game's only goal was scored by South Korea's Choi Kyubaek towards the end of the match and despite all attempts by the Dream team to equalize, their efforts fell short.

Siasia's boys were hoping to secure a valuable win against the Red Devils as they prepare for the Rio 2016 Olympics and the result was shocking as the Dream team have not lost any competitive match since the 2015 All African Games where they lost 3-1 to Burkina Faso in the semi-final.

The team will battle Honduras and Denmark in the next two games asthe Bayelsa born coach hopes to give his team enough preparation ahead of the Rio Olympics in Brazil this summer.

The Queen's wedding and Coronation dresses will be displayed together for the first time ever at the Summer Opening of the State Rooms aBuckingham Palace from 23 July to 2 October. Both dresses were designed by the great British couturier Sir Norman Hartnell.

The wedding dress (first photo) worn by Princess Elizabeth for her marriage to The Duke of Edinburgh on 20 November 1947.
When commissioned to design the dress, Sir Norman Hartnell set out to produce 'the most beautiful dress I had so far made'. In 1947 Britain was still subject to rationing, so the Princess collected clothing coupons to pay for the dress.

The Coronation dress worn by The Queen at Westminster Abbey on 2 June 1953. The dress is made of the finest white duchesse satin, embroidered with national and Commonwealth floral emblems in gold and silver thread, encrusted with seed pearls, sequins and crystals.

Operatives of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of Lagos State Police Command, today, arrested two blood brothers allegedly in connection with the possession of 80 pieces of fake N1000. The suspects who are from the same parents, Ifeanyi Ihesiaba and Hope Ihesiaba, were apprehended on a tip-off from the owner of a business centre(name withheld) at Magodo/Isheri area of Lagos, where one of the suspects, Ifeanyi, went to buy a recharge card of N200 with a fake One Thousand Naira note.





According to the shop operator, "It was around 6:35 pm. I was inside my shop when I saw this young man came in to demand for Two hundred Naira of recharge card. I stood up immediately to attend to him. I demanded for the money before I could give him the recharge card he asked for. Suspiciously, I deeply looked at the money, and I discovered that it was a fake denomination of One thousand Naira…. Then, I pretended as if I was still looking for the recharge card and balance of N800 Naira, and I used the back door to go out. I looked around for the Police, and luckily for me, I saw RRS operatives who were on patrol routine around the axis. I explained to them, and they instantly followed me to my shop which led to his arrest." 

Upon his arrival at the RRS' Headquarters in Alausa, the suspect made a confessional statement, saying that his brother, Hope Ihesiaba, who just arrived to Lagos from South-Eastern part of the Country, gave him the money. "I will not deny the fact that the monies are fake. But I thought I could spend them around the area. I have made a greatest mistake of my life", he noted.
However, his confessional statement helped the Police to track his brother to brothel where he was arrested after hidden for two days. While interrogating his brother, he said that he never knew it was a criminal offence to be in possession of fake currency. 
"When I noticed that my brother has been apprehended where he went to spend the money, I had to take to my heels. I went to hide in a brothel around Berger area. But at a point, I realised that blood is thicker than water, and more so, my brother is innocent. So, when he pretended that he was released on bail, I decided to show face in order to apologise to him… I don't know he was deceiving me so that I can come out from my shell. I went back home after two days, unknowingly, Police had surrounded everywhere, and I got arrested". 
Explaining how he got the fake currency, the suspect said "I bought the currency from one guy simply identified as Odi in Aba. I exchanged 80 pieces of fake one thousand naira for N28,000. There is a popular relaxation spot in Aba, called Boropit opposite Ariara Market. At this place, there are many people dealing with this fake currency." 
The suspected criminal said that he relocated to Lagos last November after his laundry shop in Rumuola Road in Port-Harcourt was demolished by the State Government. 
"When all I had laboured for in my life has been destroyed by the government, I had to relocate to Lagos to start a new life. At the moment, I am managing with my brother in his apartment. I was looking for capital to start -up my laundry business, but help was not forthcoming. Then, I decided to go to Aba to buy the fake currency, so I can be spending it here and collecting balances in each one thousand naira. I think by this means, I can begin new life".
He went further, "When I got back to Lagos with 80 pieces of fake one thousand naira, I shared it into two; I gave my brother 40 pieces and also took 40 pieces of fake currency. It was one of the fake money I gave my brother that he wanted to spend to buy to a recharge card where he was arrested."
The RRS operatives further made frantic efforts to recover all other fake currency in their possession, by searching their three-bedroom flat residence, at No 2B Oluwakemi Street, Ojodu-Abiodun, where another 77 pieces of fake one thousand were recovered. His girlfriend, Ndubuisi Ijeoma, and another suspect, Simeone Joseph, were also arrested. 
In his words, Simeon Joseph, who denied having knowledge of the fake currency found on the suspect, said that he was only putting up with him pending the time he will get his own accommodation. "I am into music production and learning hair dressing from one Mrs. Orji who had recently travelled out of the country. I knew the suspect about ten years ago…. I am just trying may be I will be managing with him in his shop because he is also a hair-stylist. And since my boss had travelled out of the country, I wish I continue learning the work. This is why I decided to put up with him in his house in Ojodu. Apart from hair dressing work, I did not know that the suspect is dealing with fake currency."
He continued: "I did not know anything about the one thousand naira denomination found on him and subsequent search of his house where another fake currency was recovered. I know it is criminal offence to be in possession or spend of fake currency.
One of the suspect's girlfriends, Ndubuisi Ijeoma, confessed that all the fake currency found in her wardrobe all belonged to his boyfriend, Ifeanyi Ihesiaba. 
"The Policemen conducted a search in my room and they found two laptops, DSTV Walka, and my phones. The laptops belonged to my boyfriend and his friend. The fake currency found under my clothes was kept there by the suspect, which I knew nothing about. I don't know anything about the fake currency, but was recovered under my clothes in my room," Ijeoma added. 
Other items recovered from the suspects are two laptops, a cutlass, sledge hammer and a sum of Seventeen Thousand Naira.
Confirming the arrest, the state Police' Spokesperson, Superintendent of Police, SP Dolapo Badmus, implored people to critically look at any currency denomination exchanging with them for business transaction. The suspects have been transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for prosecution.

Photo: Police allegedly kill motorcyclist in Ogun state

28 year old father of two named Hameed, a motorcyclist aka Okada rider was allegedly killed by a mobile policeman in Ilaro in Ogun state yesterday June 1st. According to PM News, the Okada rider was killed at a checkpoint in the community. ‎ Narrating the incident, a colleague of the deceased, identified the culprit as one Muffy attached to the new DPO of Ilaro Police division.


"Hameed was killed last night by Muffy, a policeman attached to the new DPO at Ilaro Division.‎ He was returning home when he was stopped at the checkpoint by policemen who accused him of riding a stolen motorcycle. An argument ensued between them and before anyone could intervene, Hameed was shot dead". The other Okada riders in the community this afternoon staged a protest, demanding justice for the deceased. The protesting Okada riders burnt used tyres and other items on major streets of Ilaro calling for the arrest of the policeman who killed their colleague.
