Blac Chyna's father is speaking out for the first time about his daughter and Rob Kardashian's relationship and impending wedding. According to the Daily Mail, Eric Holland gave the reality star his blessing to take his daughter's hand in marriage.

Talking about his daughter and her soon-to-be husband, the 49-year-old from Maryland said he's not at all surprised by Chyna's rise to fame as she has always been ambitious since she was a young girl.

"Oh yeah, I'm happy of course — she knows that," he told Daily Mail about Chyna's engagement and pregnancy. "As soon as I found out, I was all happy for her — they're having a baby and everything — she's got my blessings."

And Rob need not to worry because Eric doesn't seem to have a problem with him at all:

"I met Rob. He seems like a nice man," he said. "He was nice with me and everything so I'm happy for her."

On what he admires most about his daughter, Eric mentioned her dedication to her family, despite her fame:

"She was at my little daughter Summer's birthday party two weeks ago and she took some pictures with everything," he said. "It was really nice she made the effort for her sister... She's still in touch with all her family. She's never forgotten her roots."

Lagos government shuts down 70 churches, 20 mosques, 11 hotels over Noise pollution

Posted: 29 Jun 2016 01:49 PM PDT

The management of the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), has shut down 70
churches and 20 mosques in the state over noise pollution. Bola Shani, the general manager of the agency made this known in an interview with newsmen in Lagos today June 29th.
"Precisely about 70 churches, 20 mosques and about 11 hotels, club houses and beer parlours were shut and we've given them some directives to follow. We've been so strict now that we are not going to even allow make-shift churches in the state any longer. What I mean by make-shift, using tents and uncompleted building, we are not going to allow that any further in the state.
But I will strongly tell you that the level of compliance is more on the mosque area, because immediately you shut them, they instantly bring down their speakers or reduce the noise they make.'' Shabi says the plan of the state government is to reduce noise pollution in the state to about zero per cent by the year 2020. "As at today, we are only able to reduce the noise level to about 35 per cent. That is not a pass mark yet. So, until we reach that target of 70 to 80 per cent, we will continue the enforcement.‎ Enforcement is a continuous exercise and we have set a target for ourselves. We want to ensure that Lagos is noise-free by the year 2020. With our status as a mega city, by year 2020 we will be free of noise,'' he said.

Lagos clarifies incident surrounding street hawker knocked down by truck

Posted: 29 Jun 2016 12:42 PM PDT

Read the press statement below...
The Lagos State Government has clarified the misconception surrounding the unfortunate incident where a street hawker was knocked down by an oncoming truck at Maryland Bus Stop on Wednesday. The street hawker, who was trying to evade arrest from officials of Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI), had attempted to cross the road before being hit by the truck, which was erroneously thought to be a BRT Bus.
As a result, hoodlums armed with sticks and stones, immediately descended on some BRT buses plying the route as at the time of the incident and in the process destroyed several of the BRT buses.
But the Government in a statement signed the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde, said that contrary to the information being circulated in the social media that the street hawker was hit by a BRT bus, it was a truck belonging to a soft drink company that unfortunately hit the boy.
"It wasn't any of our buses that killed him (hawker), it was a soft drink company truck that unfortunately crushed the boy while he was trying to escape from KAI officers who were on patrol trying to rid the street of street hawkers and traders.
"But hoodlums now took advantage of that to start destroying government assets, including several of the brand new BRT buses," he said.
Ayorinde said it took the intervention of a team from the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) to quell the riotous scene caused by the hoodlums before the corpse of the boy was taken to the morgue at the General Hospital, Ikeja.
The Commissioner said that at least three hoodlums alleged to have been part of the mob that destroyed the BRT buses have been arrested, saying that the law would take its full course.
"The Lagos State Government would like to use this opportunity to further reiterate that it would not relent in ridding the state of illegality, street trading and hawking," he said.
Ayorinde said that Section one of the Lagos State Street Trading and Illegal Market Prohibition Law 2003, restricts street trading and hawking in the metropolis, while Sections Seven and Eight of the same law gives jurisdiction and power to the Special Court to order the seizure and public auction of items impounded from street traders.
Section 10 of the law, he said, also prescribes a N5000 fine or three months imprisonment upon conviction.
"Street traders are hereby urged to desist from this illegal activity because the government will not be blackmailed and would do that which is necessary.
"And for the miscreants and hoodlums, the Lagos State Government and the Police Command would not allow any act of civil disobedience and those arrested would be dealt with in accordance with the law and further arrests would be made as investigation continues," he said.

Forgery case: It's Senate that's being assaulted. Saraki, Ekweremadu not mentioned by petitioners

Posted: 29 Jun 2016 12:28 PM PDT

Read the statement below...
We note the statement issued by the Secretary to the Federal Government, Mr. David Babachir Lawal that the Senate is not the one on trial in the Forgery case instituted by the Attorney General of the Federation against the Senate President and his Deputy.
We disagree with him on this position and we maintain our earlier stand that it is the Senate that is the target of the present attempt to intimidate the legislature to force a leadership change in the Senate.

Mr. Babachir Lawal should tell us how reasonable it is to conclude that when the President of Nigeria and the Vice President are being jointly tried in a suit whose outcome can remove them from office, it is not the Buhari Government that is being targeted. It is also imperative to clearly state that contrary to the claim by the SGF, neither the Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki nor Senator Ike Ekweremadu were mentioned by the petitioners, the statements by those interviewed by the police or even the police report.

Meanwhile, let us refreshen Mr. Lawal's memory about the facts of the 1999 case. It is obvious that the Senate President and his deputy are not being accused of certificate forgery as it happened in ex-Speaker Salisu Buhari's case. Therefore, nobody should compare an apple with orange. Also, neither Saraki nor Ekweremadu is below the age requirement for their present position as it was alleged in the Buhari case. Attempts to make the two situations look similar is to present all Nigerians as having no sense of history.

We also know that nobody can be accused of forging his own signature. The executive is in no position to determine what is the correct Standing Orders of the Senate. The Senate President and his Deputy were as at the morning of the June 9, 2015 inauguration of the Senate mere Senators-elect and could therefore not have been in a position to influence any alteration in the rule book.

The Senate as an institution, and indeed the National Assembly, has spoken about their understanding of the present assault on their independence by the executive'. We maintain that this trial is a design by the Executive to criminalize the internal affairs of the Senate to create a distraction for the leadership of the Senate, force a leadership change and cow the legislators.

Those behind this plot find this trial more expedient and important than finding tangible solutions to the multi-various socio-economic problems bedeviling the country. However, we are sure they will fail in this attempt. We only hope they will allow the judiciary to truly and creditably perform its duties and give independent verdict on the case.

Signed
Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi
Chairman, Senate Committee on Media and Publicity

Photo: 15-year-old boy who was dragged from his tent and mauled by a hyena at SA park, loses eyes

Posted: 29 Jun 2016 11:59 AM PDT

Five surgeons worked around the clock at Milpark Hospital last Sunday to rebuild the face of 15-year-old Erco 'Boela' Janse van Rensburg after he was mauled by a hyena at the Kruger National Park (KNP) South Africa.

According to the Park's spokesperson William Mabasa, on Sunday, June 26, a hyena entered the Crocodile Bridge campsite in the park around 04:30 and attacked the boy. It dragged him 30m from his tent and mauled him.

"The hyena attacked the 15-year-old boy, who was sleeping in one of the tents with his parents." Mabasa said.
He suffered extensive injuries to his eyes and the bones and soft tissue in his face. He is now under sedation, but he reacts to doctors and nurses in ICU. Sadly it appears that he has lost one of his eyes. A spokesperson for the family from a prayer support group said.
"He will need several more surgical procedures to repair the damage done. He is also receiving preventative treatment for rabies. He still looks like my little boy. To me he will always have a sweet little boy's face. He will always be beautiful to me," said his mother, Cashandra Janse van Rensburg. The past 48 hours is not a period she would ever want to go through again.''
Erco, his parents, Erno Janse van Rensburg, Cashandra, and his two sisters, Zelia, 16, and Kyla,11, reside in Irene, Centurion. They arrived in the KNP on Friday.

Erco's uncle, Johan Janse van Rensburg said he was woken by a loud sound. He quickly got out of his tent, and although it was dark, he could make out the silhouette of something that looked like a blanket being dragged away. He shouted and stormed. The hyena dropped Erco and ran away. The hyena had bitten Erco on the face. His grandfather, Basie Smalberger, said Erco could hear the bones in his face crack.

A doctor and ambulance were summoned to the scene immediately. A professional nurse was among the campers at Crocodile Bridge and provided the teenager with medical care. Because Erco's injuries were so severe the decision was made to transfer him from Mediclinic Nelspruit to Milpark Hospital in Johannesburg. He was airlifted shortly afterwards.

At Milpark he was placed in a medical coma, and doctors had to do a tracheal incision to enable him to breathe while they worked on him. He came out of surgery at around 8:30pm on Sunday evening. He is unable to talk due to the trachea and pipes he is connected to.
"We have been blessed with six grandchildren, but Erco is very special to us. He also fell into a hippo cage at the Pretoria Zoo when he was seven years old, but someone managed to pull him out quickly. He has always had a love for animals," Smalberger recalled.

Internet prankster convinces girl to ditch her boyfriend by making her believe he has a private jet but see what happens next

Posted: 29 Jun 2016 09:56 AM PDT

Corby Persin, a YouTube prankster from New York city has pulled an almighty one on an unsuspecting lady. He convinced her to cancel plans with her boyfriend after making her believe he owned a private jet then dumped her on the runway.

It all began when he approached her on the runway, she appeared disinterested but things changed when he mentioned his private jet at which point she agreed to join him and two strangers in a car to the airport to fly to Miami.

Here's how it happened. While at the station, he asked her what she is doing later that evening she says: 'I'm actually meeting my boyfriend.'
He says in response: 'Oh you have a boyfriend? Oh, man. Right I'm going to leave you alone, you have a good night tonight with your boyfriend. Take care.'

But just as they part ways, he calls her back, saying 'actually one more thing' and asks her for her Instagram name so they can be 'friends'.
As she enters her name into his phone, a car pulls up and a man said: 'Hey Coby. The jet's leaving in 20 minutes. We have to go.'

Her attitude visibly changes and appears to be impressed as she says: 'You have a jet?'
Coby says: 'Yeah, we're just here on business but we're going to Miami and then we're coming back here later because we have a meeting in New York.

'You want to come? If you want to come, I mean, you said you have something to do or whatever.'
When she asks: 'Do you really have a jet?' He invites her to join him - saying she can always go home if she changes her mind.

She appears sold and walks into the car containing two other male strangers - one of whom he introduces as his 'manager' and they pretend to talk about big money deals.

Coby says: 'How big is the deal we're doing? 1.2 million?...And the cash up front is 200k right?'
They get to the airport and her doubt vanishes when they actually board a plane, at this point she calls her boyfriend to cancel plans.

'It's ok. I'm just sick a little bit. I am really in pain so...I cannot make it tonight. I am really sad too. Babe I am so sorry. Love you, bye.'

The joke is on her as Cody still has an ace up his sleeve, he tells her to go out of the plane and take a photo of him from the outside, she complies without suspicion but it was all part of the plan.

He says: 'You are going to be outside, I'm going to be with my head to the window and just get like a sick pic.'
Once she is outside he tells her to 'go further back, get the picture' through the window. Adding: 'You ready? Actually I don't do jet diggers, you're not coming in my jet. Get her off. She's not supposed to be here...I don't know her..'

She gets escorted away off the tarmac by airport staff and he says to the camera, laughing: 'She cancelled on her boyfriend to come on the jet. She's not coming in.'

Coby shared the video titled 'Private Jet Gold Digger Prank! (EXPOSED)', with his 2.3million YouTube subscribers and it had been viewed over 185000 times.

Halima Abubakar insists she's not interested in marriage, says it's overrated

Posted: 29 Jun 2016 09:55 AM PDT

Is it really? I don't think so...I think it's a beautiful thing if you find the right partner but the actress thinks it's not and says she has no immediate plans to be a Mrs, as there's no happiness or genuine love these days. Speaking with Encomium magazine, she said;
Marriage has been overrated. It's unnecessarily over rated. It's just too much of headache with how things are now. Even ordinary relationship is a huge burden, huge headache and heartbreaking, let alone marriage. When you can't stand each other as boyfriend and girlfriend, how would you live together under the same roof when you get married?
People need to know themselves seriously. When I say seriously, I mean spiritually before getting married. People only know themselves physically, not spiritually, so they end up getting bored with each other. And they will say they don't want to get divorce because of what society would say after investing so much on the marriage.
They stay in that marriage and later it may become very irritating and they start fighting. Before they know it, everything becomes violent. You hear people say all sorts of things. You're the one who allowed people to get to you and start telling you you're getting old. You're the one allowing them to convince you that you're getting old, you need to get married. Everyone will surely get old. Who won't get old? So, when people say I am getting old, get married, I would tell them that's the only thing they know. People carry marriage like a flag.
Asked if it means she's not going to get married, she said;
No, people should only try to be nice about marriage to make me interested in it. Don't tell me actresses don't stay in marriage. Olu Jacobs and Joke Silva have been married for long and they're still in the marriage. Nothing happened to their union. Omotola and her husband have been married for long; they're still very much together. She got married at a young age which is good. What I am trying to say is that going into marriage needs a lot; you don't just go into it. My elder sister got married at 26 and she's doing fine in the marriage with her husband. Now, tell me why won't I want a family like that? But these days, people are just too much into social media, that's why marriages are crashing. Marriage these days is not based on happiness and genuine love. Let me ask, who is that poor person that has married a billionaire son? So, why won't marriage crash when it's not based on happiness and genuine love?

Actress Lena Dunham slams Kanye West over his 'Famous' music video, calls it sickening!

Posted: 29 Jun 2016 09:39 AM PDT

Film creator and writer Lena Dunham in a long Facebook post criticized Kanye West's 'famous' music video calling it sickening and saying that the video is inspired by aspects of culture that makes women feel unsafe in their bodies. Lena wrote;
Like many pop culture addicted Americans, I wait with bated breath for what Kanye West will do next. Aside from his Twitter mayhem, he has created some really "next level shit" as the kids would say. I could also happily watch Kim Kardashian West chip the paint off a window ledge for hours and be fascinated. I admire that whole family, love the way they depict women as better in numbers and masters of their own destiny.
I'd spend all summer at Kamp Kardashian. But it's possible to hold two competing thoughts in your mind and the Famous video is one of the more disturbing "artistic" efforts in recent memory.

Let's break it down: at the same time Brock Turner is getting off with a light tap for raping an unconscious woman and photographing her breasts for a group chat... As assaults are Periscoped across the web and girls commit suicide after being exposed in ways they never imagined... While Bill Cosby's crimes are still being uncovered and understood as traumas for the women he assaulted but also massive bruises to our national consciousness... Now I have to see the prone, unconscious, waxy bodies of famous women, twisted like they've been drugged and chucked aside at a rager? It gives me such a sickening sense of dis-ease.

I was raised in the art world by a dad who painted aggro scenes of sexuality and war and a mom who, ironically enough, has photographed some butt naked life-sized dolls of her own. I live for the nude rabble rousing of Carolee Schneemann and Hannah Wilke, for Kathy Acker's arty porn, for Paul McCarthy's gnomes with butt plugs and Vito Acconci masturbating under the gallery floor and Carrie Mae Weems shedding a blinding light on the pleasures and terrors of black womanhood. If it's been banned, I'll probably love it. Because I know that art's job is to make us think in ways that aren't always tidy or comfortable. But this feels different.
I'm sure that Bill Cosby doll being in the bed alongside Donald Trump is some kind of statement, that I'm probably being trolled on a super high level. I know that there's a hipper or cooler reaction to have than the one I'm currently having. But guess what? I don't have a hip cool reaction, because seeing a woman I love like Taylor Swift (fuck that one hurt to look at, I couldn't look), a woman I admire like Rihanna or Anna, reduced to a pair of waxy breasts made by some special effects guy in the Valley, it makes me feel sad and unsafe and worried for the teenage girls who watch this and may not understand that grainy roving camera as the stuff of snuff films. I hesitated a lot about saying anything cuz I figured the thinkpieces would come pouring in. But I didn't see this angle being explored as much as I had hoped. It's weird to feel like you're watching alone. I bet I'm not.

Here's the thing, Kanye: you're cool. Make a statement on fame and privacy and the Illuminati or whatever is on your mind! But I can't watch it, don't want to watch it, if it feels informed and inspired by the aspects of our culture that make women feel unsafe even in their own beds, in their own bodies.

Y'all, I'm so sick of showing up to the party angry. But at least I brought cake.
