Doctors to begin nationwide strike on Thursday June 9th Posted: 07 Jun 2016 01:12 PM PDT Members of the National Association of Resident Doctors of Nigeria (NARD) has said that they will be going on a nationwide strike starting from Thursday June 9th. President of the association, Muhammad Askira, announced this today June 7th. According to him, they are taking the painful decision of embarking on the strike action following the failure of the federal government to meet its demands of better working condition and better remuneration. He added that the decision to go on strike was taken at the associations ordinary general meeting in Jos from May 30th to June 5th "Sixteen out of 58 federal tertiary institutions or centres were exempted from the initial centre based strike for the commitment of the chief medical director of the hospitals to implement the federal government's directives. If by midnight on Sunday, June 19, our demands are not met, all the members of the association, including those exempted, would join the indefinite nationwide strike. Due to the failure of the government to address the demands of NARD, it has declared a total and indefinite strike. NARD has to take this painful decision in order to highlight the plight of our hardworking members who have had to endure a long period of deprivation and disenfranchisement."he said |

Posted: 07 Jun 2016 09:44 AM PDT Jose Mourinho and Chelsea football club have ended the employment tribunal case with ex-Chelsea doctor Eva Carneiro, after agreeing on a settlement package with the doctor, just minutes before she was to climb the witness stand and expose embarrassing texts and emails sent by Jose Mourinho to her after alleging that Mourinho called her 'daughter of a whore' in Portuguese and also told her she should work for Chelsea Ladies FC and not the male football team. A deal between Jose Mourinho and Dr Eva Carneiro was done in a back corridor of the court after Mourinho begged her and Chelsea then issued a statement saying it 'regretted the circumstances' which led to former club doctor leaving and 'apologises unreservedly to her and her family for the distress caused'. The case was expected to last seven to 10 days and could have led to potentially embarrassing witness statements and documents - including texts and emails - being made public. Read Chelsea FC's official statement after the cut. The club regrets the circumstances which led to Dr Carneiro leaving the club and apologises unreservedly to her and her family for the distress caused. 'We wish to place on record that in running onto the pitch Dr Carneiro was following both the rules of the game and fulfilling her responsibility to the players as a doctor, putting their safety first. 'Dr Carneiro has always put the interests of the club's players first. Dr Carneiro is a highly competent and professional sports doctor. She was a valued member of the club's medical team and we wish her every success in her future career. 'Jose Mourinho also thanks Dr Carneiro for the excellent and dedicated support she provided as First Team Doctor and he wishes her a successful career.' In a statement Dr Carneiro said: 'I am relieved that today we have been able to conclude this tribunal case. It has been an extremely difficult and distressing time for me and my family and I now look forward to moving forward with my life. 'My priority has always been the health and safety of the players and fulfilling my duty of care as a doctor. In running onto the pitch to treat a player, who requested medical attention, I was following the rules of the game and fulfilling my medical responsibilities. 'I would like to thank everyone who has supported me including my husband, family and friends and members of the football community.' |

Posted: 07 Jun 2016 09:28 AM PDT This is a sponsored post... "I finally successfully shrunk my fibroids enough so that I could avoid surgeries, and so that I no longer have all those horrible side effects of fibroids, such as continuous heaving bleeding, and painful periods. There was a time when I was taking pain pills everyday just to get rid of the cramps. Sometimes I had to take sick days from work because my periods were so painful.I avoided going to places on the first days of my cycle because I would bleed so much, and I had to be near a bathroom to change my tampons every hour. Sex was painful, I was extremely emotional and irritable because my hormones were out of control. I became depressed over my situation. I was easily annoyed. Then I would become extremely tired from being anemic from losing so much blood. Do any of these symptoms sound like what's happening to you? I had a lot of other bad symptoms as well like hormonal adult acne, cysts in my breasts, dry hair, dry eyes. People with fibroids can suffer from infertility and have an increased chance of a miscarriage or premature birth if they get pregnant while they have large fibroids. Although fibroid tumors are not cancerous, they still invade your body and they can reap havoc on your life. More info… here: http://bit.ly/fibroidremoval I tried a lot of medications, I had 2 myomectomies to remove the fibroids, but after about 5 years or so the fibroids grew back after each surgery. The surgeries only gave me relief from the fibroids for about 5 years, and then the fibroids started growing back. Also, unfortunately, the surgeries didn't heal my hormonal imbalance problems, so I still had adult acne, cysts in my breasts, dry hair, dry eyes etc. the fibroids grew back; I knew I had to do something different. I had to get smarter about what I was doing. Not until sometime February this year 2016 as my husband was surfing the internet for solutions to Fibroids he came across a natural way to get rid of fibroids, immediately he called my attention to the information. We both agreed and subscribe to the natural solution believing to get results from the 60days program as said. To my amazement, after the 3rd week into the program, I was not feeling feel any pains, no dry hair and no dry eyes. on the 4th week I went for check-up and the Doctor told me, the fibroids have melted. I was so happy and I continued the 8-weeks program. After which I did checkup and I was declared fibroid free, not only did fibroid shrank, my infertility issue was transformed now am conceived" http://bit.ly/fibroidremoval What a great transformation for Mrs Udoka. Let's look at what Fibroids are: Fibroids are muscular tumors that grow in the wall of the uterus (womb). Another medical term for fibroids is "leiomyoma" or just "myoma". Fibroids are almost always benign (not cancerous). Fibroids can grow as a single tumor, or there can be many of them in the uterus. They can be as small as an apple seed or as big as a grapefruit. In unusual cases they can become very large. There are factors that can increase a woman's risk of developing fibroids. Age- Fibroids become more common as women age, especially during the 30s and 40s through menopause. After menopause, fibroids usually shrink. Family history- Having a family member with fibroids increases your risk. If a woman's mother had fibroids, her risk of having them is about three times higher than average. Ethnic origin- African-American women are more likely to develop fibroids than white women. Obesity- Women who are overweight are at higher risk for fibroids. For very heavy women, the risk is two to three times greater than average. Eating habits- Eating a lot of red meat (e.g., beef) and ham is linked with a higher risk of fibroids. Eating plenty of green vegetables seems to protect women from developing fibroids. Most fibroids do not cause any symptoms, but some women with fibroids can have: - Heavy bleeding (which can be heavy enough to cause anemia) or painful periods - Feeling of fullness in the pelvic area (lower stomach area) - Enlargement of the lower abdomen - Frequent urination - Pain during sex - Lower back pain - Complications during pregnancy and labor, including a six-time greater risk of cesarean section - Reproductive problems, such as infertility etc. For the Natural Way out visit: http://bit.ly/fibroidremovalWomen who have fibroids are more likely to have problems during pregnancy and delivery. This doesn't mean there will be problems. The most common problems seen in women with fibroids are: - Cesarean section. The risk of needing a C-section is six times greater for women with fibroids. - Baby is breech. The baby is not positioned well for vaginal delivery. - Labor fails to progress. - Placental abruption. The placenta breaks away from the wall of the uterus before delivery. When this happens, the fetus does not get enough oxygen. - Preterm delivery. Do you want to be Fibroid Free like Mrs Udoka?
