| Meet woman who is obsessed with tearing out her own hair Posted: 17 Oct 2015 11:37 AM PDT  A 32 year old woman, Wendy Clark, was left almost bald after a 20-year battle with a condition which makes her tear out her own hair. She has tried to cover her head with wigs and
hair bands over the years but it got so bad
at the beginning of this year that she had lost 90 per cent of her hair.She feels she's turned a corner on the road to recovery after having an Intralace System fitted at specialist salon,the Daily Record reported . Wendy felt shocked and emotional seeing her reflection with a full head of hair.  But her treatment at Lucinda Ellery in Edinburgh has given her a much-needed confidence boost and has also helped her cut back on her hair-pulling obsession. Wendy, who works in HR, developed trichotillomania – known as TTM – when she was aged around 11. She said: "I didn't know what it was at the time and wasn't really aware I was doing it. For me it was just kind of a habit that started, there wasn't a reason behind it. "Over the next couple of years, it gradually got worse until it was hard for me to hide it. I wasn't sure why I started pulling, I had a happy, healthy childhood, it seemed to be a bad habit I had developed somehow. I wasn't aware of it early on enough to stop it. The longer you do it, the harder it becomes to stop. "It was probably in my late teens when I discovered that there was a recognised condition for what I had. I found this out through internet research but never had the confidence to admit or seek help as I always told myself I would deal with it myself. I only told my closest friends and family and we never talked about it as I always got too upset. "People must have noticed but no one talked about it. For most of my teenage years and into my early 20s, I was able to cover up any bad areas by wearing my hair up, hoping no one would notice. "I moved to Edinburgh for university at 17, spent a year in Australia, travelled around the world living a full and active life and although I presented a happy, outgoing exterior and people never mentioned it to me, I was constantly conscious of my TTM and anxious under the surface. "When I was 24, I settled in Glasgow and I started wearing wigs. I thought it would be a barrier to my pulling and did make me feel a lot more confident. Unfortunately it allowed the TTM to get much worse as I could pull without having to hide the patches with my own hair and it got to the stage where I had virtually no hair left."  She believes conditions like TTM are widespread and she's keen to get rid of stigma and offer people hope. She said: "There's no known cure to date and the science behind it all is that there are 100 million people with it worldwide." According to Lucinda, many people feel isolated but are now discovering they are not alone. She says it's a genetically predisposed condition and predominantly feminine. Omotola wearing an EMMY kasbit jacket encouraged the girls to follow the knorr green food steps when cooking which includes Tossing in green vegetables into their stew, stirring and crumbling in the New iron-fortified Knorr cube. She assisted in sharing meals to the students and danced with them. The highlight of the day came when Omotola said goodbye but the kids were not ready to let her go. They surrounded the cars and even chased her down the road before finally saying Goodbye. They left with gifts and a lot of memories and thanked knorr for a memorable World food day.                           |
| Indian girls, a toddler and a five-year-old gang-raped Posted: 17 Oct 2015 04:14 AM PDT  The two-and-half-year-old girl was allegedly abducted from near a 'Ramlila' event outside her home at Ranhola in West Delhi by two men on a motorcycle. She was gang-raped and dumped in the area with severe injuries. The girl had stepped out of her home with her grandmother after a power cut late on Friday night, police said. She was playing while her grandmother sat nearby. The girl reportedly ran towards the main road and witnesses told police two men on a motorcycle had taken her away at about 11 pm. When the grandmother couldn't locate the girl, she raised an alarm. "The girl's relatives came to the police station to get a complaint registered, following which we dispatched search teams. The girl was found two hours later behind the bushes in a jungle nearby. She was found to be bleeding," a police official said. The five-year-old girl was allegedly raped by two men known to her family in Anand Vihar area of East Delhi. The men, reportedly inebriated at the time, dumped her near her home after the assault. "She returned home crying and narrated the episode to her parents, after which the locals hunted the accused down. They were reportedly beaten up by the public and then handed over to police. "Both of them were drunk. We have arrested them and registered a case against them," a police official said. Officials at the Sanjay Gandhi Hospital said the injuries on the girl's body and private parts suggested she was brutally assaulted. A medical examination confirmed the rape. The nature of injuries on the private parts suggests she was subjected to torture. Since it happened in a jungle, she even had thorns in her body," a source said. "We have launched a manhunt for the suspects. So far no one has been arrested," Pushpenda Kumar, West Delhi police chief, told AFP of the toddler's case. An officer from Anand Vihar police station comfirmed the arrest of the three men who raped the five-year-old. "Her clothes wee partially torn with blood spots all over them. Some locals saw her and she told them she was sexually assaulted," the officer said. "Some of the locals then barged into the house and caught them before handing them over to us" the officer added. |

| Mother of 2 & plank seller both electrocuted almost at the same time in Lagos Posted: 17 Oct 2015 12:14 AM PDT  Bashirat Rauf was said to have rushed out of her apartment when she saw fire burning from a cable in a nearby school. She reportedly decided to quickly pick her children who were playing outside in order to avoid being engulfed by the fire unfortunately, she got electrocuted in the process. Meanwhile, 33 year old plank seller,Sodiq Saka, was said to have gone to fetch water to put off the fire in the school premises when he saw flame coming out of their compound and he got electrocuted in the process. According to Mr. Saka Imam, The father of late Sodiq, "As a Muslim, I have accepted my fate. There is nothing I could do to bring the dead back to life. "We were to gather on that fateful day. He was the one who slaughtered the Sallah ram he bought for me. After that, he told me he was coming to get something down the street, only for someone to come and call me that my son had been electrocuted in the neighbourhood. I was told by some witnesses at the scene of the incident that my son only went into the compound of the school premises where it was burning to assist the owner of the house, only for him to be electrocuted by the falling cable. Sodiq was said to had stepped on the naked cable while trying to put off the fire. What else do I do, I cannot give birth to a grown up boy like him."The Secretary of Araromi Community Development Association, Mr.Wahab Awoyemi , described the incident as a very sad one for the residents of Araromi community. He said: "It was very sad for us to loose two persons in a day.The woman was in her apartment that fateful day preparing meal, when information got to her that the school near their apartment was burning. She rushed out to pick her children who were playing outside their compound and stepped on the naked cable. She was electrocuted immediately. "We made serious effort to rescue both of them. We went to Eko distribution company office at mile 12 to switch off the light. The person who was supposed to switch off the power was said not be on duty. But with providence, they took off the power. It was after then we were able to remove them from the burning cable and took them to a private hospital in the community where they were later pronounced dead by the medical doctor of the hospital." "Before the ugly incident, we called on Eko Disco officials to come fix the cable before it will kill someone in the community. They did not come until two lives were consumed. | Florida couple accused of abusing elderly mother Posted: 16 Oct 2015 11:03 PM PDT  According to the Osceola County Sheriff's Office, the investigation began in September after deputies got a report of an 81-year-old woman who was recovering at a rehabilitation center in Kissimmee. The woman had told the deputies that she had fallen in her room and asked her son, Raymond Southerland, for help multiple times. She said she lost consciousness and woke up in a pool of blood. Investigators say after some time, Southerland called for medical assistance. Deputies say he originally didn't admit to harming her, but said medication he takes causes him to black out. According to doctors, the victim's injuries weren't consistent with a fall, but rather abuse. Detectives say after interviewing both Raymond and his wife, Debbie Southerland, they determined that the victim had been abused and felony warrants were issued. On Monday, both Raymond and Debbie Southerland were arrested and the next day, booked into the Osceola County Jail. Raymond was charged with Battery on a Person Over 65 Years Old, Aggravated Battery on a Person Over 65 Years Old, Aggravated Abuse of an Elderly Person and Neglect of an Elderly Person with Great Harm. Debbie was charged with Battery on a Person Over 65 Years Old. The victim is in critical condition. The investigation is ongoing. |

Gilbert Diendere had already been charged with 10 other counts, including attacking national security and murder. Prosecutor Col. Sita Sangare said Friday that Diendere will go before a military tribunal, though he did not say when. Sangare said 23 others were charged for the short-lived coup. The elite presidential guard arrested transitional President Michel Kafando and interim Prime Minister Yacouba Isaac Zida on Sept. 16. Diendere took power but stepped down after a week. The transitional government was reinstalled on Sept. 23. The presidential guard was later disbanded, and Diendere was taken into custody. |

'Bruce Weber is standing there and he goes, "We'll shoot that." And I go, "What? We'll shoot what?" And he says, "We'll shoot your hair just like that, it's beautiful."'  The actress said she was unsure at first, but Bruce convinced her to do it. 'Part of me was like, "No, no, no, NO!" This is the hair no one is supposed to see.
