"Oh the emotions! Spent time out of my bubble yesterday to feel the agony, the pain, the discrimination and stigma of single moms. Tears flowed freely as these phenomenal women shared stories of their escape from abusive marriages and life as widows and unmarried mothers.
The stories of landlords who brand them prostitutes and won't offer them tenancy. Shared my story of being raised by a single mom and the struggle and triumph of becoming who I am. Thank you "Single Moms" Deola and her team for the love and platform offered these hurting women to begin their journey towards their healing and taking charge of their lives. We all need to empower these women, they need jobs, mentors, funding for their businesses, school fees and a lot of love NOT STIGMA!"

Missing Chibok girls: Don't give up on the government, Presidency urges BBOG

The presidency has released a statement urging the advocacy group of the missing Chibok school girls, Bring Back Our Girls, not to give up on efforts by the government to rescue the missing girls. The BringBackOurGirls group claims in a recent statement that President Muhammadu Buhari has "broken all promises" made to the group about rescuing the missing Chibok girls and that the government had been "lackadaisical" in the rescue mission. The Presidency will like to appeal to the officials and members of the Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) campaign group, not to waver in their support for the government in the war against terrorism and in the ongoing effort to free all Nigerian citizens taken captive by the Boko Haram terrorist group.

The past year of this administration has seen the Nigerian military step up bombardment of the Sambisa Forest, a stronghold of the Boko Haram terrorist group, leading to the capture of hundreds of insurgents.

Also, records from the Army show the rescue of no fewer than 15,000 captives, mostly women and children from the terrorists from February to date. In addition, dozens of communities that were previously under the control of the terrorists have been liberated, allowing thousands of previously displaced citizens to return home and resume their normal lives.

Thousands of these women and children freed from captivity have also been reunited with their families. This huge number of rescued women and children may not be prominent names, and their disappearance may not have generated any massive media attention and campaign.

However, their liberation is just as important as that of every other missing woman and child, and a testament to the devotion of our military personnel who daily risk life and limb in the effort to bring back every Nigerian citizen kidnapped by Boko Haram terrorists.

Along with these ongoing efforts to rid our country of terrorists and terrorism, the Nigerian government is focused on the welfare and rehabilitation of rescued Nigerians, many of whom were found in a state of severe malnutrition and illness.

While their intentions are honourable, perhaps the BBOG leadership have not considered the collateral damage which must inevitably follow its riveting and dispiriting claim that the President has "broken all promises" allegedly made to the group on this issue. Or that he has been "lackadaisical" in rescuing the Chibok girls. The Federal Government's focus has always been to free the Chibok girls alive and unharmed.

The President is conscious always about the fact that terrorism in Nigeria is part of a global phenomenon. Since coming to office, his response to it has been firm and well considered.

President Buhari will never make bogus promises or play to the gallery. It is misleading of anyone to preach that the Chibok girls are within an easy grasp. If the military under the President knew where they are held, they will bring the Chibok girls home today.

The Presidency is open to renew cooperation with the BBOG group, international bodies, religious groups, social workers, and all others who are assisting in the field to ensure that those who have so far been rescued from Boko Haram captivity are given the support they need to make a full recovery and be reintegrated fully into society.

Groups such as the BBOG can also lend a helping hand to military families whose losses need to be appreciated and focused upon.

The life of every single Nigerian matters to this government and the security agencies, under the command of President Buhari, will continue to exert all its powers to ensure that every Nigerian is safe from the brutality of terrorists and terrorism.

Liv Tyler and her fianc̩ David Gardner welcomed their second child together Рdaughter, Lula Rose Gardner. The 38-year-old actress announced it on Instagram on Sunday. "Hello! our beautiful baby girl is here. Lula Rose Gardner we are sooooo happy heart exploding with love!" she captioned the first photo of her daughter.

Gardner also posted the same photo, along with a message.
"Our gorgeous baby girl has arrived "Lula Rose Gardner" unbelievably beautiful, healthy and thank goodness she looks like her Momma !!!! Truly blessed. Daddies girl….Now the real work starts training her big brothers to all become Ninja's, Martial Arts Experts & 24-7 Body Guards !!!" he wrote.

The newborn joins brother Sailor Gene, 17 months. Liv is also mom to 11-year-old son Milo from previous relationship.

TY Bello shares heartwrenching encounter with a soldier fighting Boko Haram in Maiduguri

Celebrity photographer, TY Bello, who just returned from Borno state, shared this photo of an xray showing an anti aircraft bullet lodged in a soldiers throat. She wrote
"Soldier X:While I made portraits of our wounded soldiers at the military hospital in Maiduguri, one of the soldiers made a statement that I haven't been able to shake off, " one way you know a soldier has been hit is that they suddenly start shouting out names of family members.
"This statement kept playing over and again in my mind, especially when I got the most colourful welcome from my family, barely a week away on this journey.Many soldiers, play this long overdue welcome party in their heads daily, and the sad thing is that for some, it may never happen. 

I had long conversations with soldiers about how they got wounded in battle.They told me how grateful they were to be alive, some of their colleagues weren't as lucky. I also got to speak with medical personnel, on the uniqueness of their work in a war against terror. I'll share all their stories here and start by introducing Soldier X, who I never met, but made a photograph of his Xray .An anti aircraft bullet, big and strong enough to tear through the titanium body of an airplane, was lodged in his throat, and for some reason, it didn't blow his head off, this soldier lived through his surgery and got to take the removed bullet home as a reminder. This is a wicked wicked war!Why would anyone chose weapons made to attack war planes and use it on a fellow human ... On Sunday's episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kim Kardashian kicked things off with a bang when she revealed that husband Kanye West keeps asking her about a third child, but she doesn't feel she can give birth to another child as it might distort the shape and width of her private part. Driving in a car with sister Kourtney's ex Scott Disick, Scott asks her if she's thinking about having another child.



"Why are you thinking about having a third?"

Then Kim tells Scott ; "Kanye has said it every single day for like the last week," "And I was like, 'I don''t think I can carry another one.'"I just think, 'Ugh, I'll never be the same down there.' Kanye says it like feels the same."
 "Wait tell me, do you think it's different."

"Like, it's like throwing a hot dog down a hallway?"

To which Scott honestly replied;
"I feel like me and Kanye don't care about that. It's the fact that like something that big has come in and out of there. Things are just different internally. There's just like bumps and curves, you know what I'm saying?

Scott then tells Kim, "Correct, exactly."

A Microsoft recruiter probably thought it smart to address potential young employees in informal party language. The move didn't go as planned and now the company has had to issue a statement.
A Microsoft spokesman said in an email: "The email was poorly worded and not in keeping with our values as a company."We are looking into how this occurred and will take appropriate steps to address it."

'Well, the last straw was dropped last month after family members found a crack pipe on the property. We're told Khloe threw Lamar out of the 6,400 square foot pad. The lease is up at the end of the month and we're told she won't renew.'

This story has been making the round on social media but was only able confirm it when the deceased friend, Okorie Favour Ibuchim wrote on it recently. According to the report, the Nigerian businessman identified as Oto was in a relationship with the lady pictured. When she became pregnant, he denied being responsible, and called off the relationship. In retaliation, the woman allegedly accused him of stealing, he was beaten and burnt to death.

Below is the post published by Ibuchim on Facebook:
"Oto My brother I am still speechless till date, Unbelievable your wicked girlfriend alleged you of stealing and sent you to early grave through her brothers.....Every1 dat celebrated and carried out dis illicit act against u shall remain cursed in their entire generations...May God give you strenght and harmful weapons to react against your killing RIP OTO THE ONLY SON"

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has confirmed he will arrive Nigeria in two weeks time for a 2-day working visit. Infantino, who was elected FIFA President at an extraordinary general assembly in Zurich on 26th February 2016, confirmed the trip following a meeting with NFF President Amaju Pinnick in Paris, France on Sunday.



"The FIFA President and Secretary General will arrive in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja on Sunday, 24th July on a two –day working visit to Nigeria," Pinnick told thenff.com.
During the two –day visit, Infantino and Samoura will pay a courtesy call on President Buhari at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, hold meeting with a legion of African FA presidents who are expected in Nigeria to join the NFF to receive the FIFA topshots and attend an evening session with Corporate Nigeria in Lagos.

The duo will also meet with Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State before watching the finals of the NFF/ZENITH Bank Future Eagles Championship. A welcome dinner put together by the League Management Company and also attended by members of the diplomatic corps is on the cards. At the one –hour meeting involving Infantino, Samoura and Pinnick on Sunday, Nigeria's Minister of Sports, Barrister Solomon Dalung spoke with the FIFA boss and expressed Nigeria's readiness to welcome the FIFA team.

Fatma Samba Diouf Samoura, 54, was appointed FIFA Secretary General at the 66th FIFA Congress in Mexico City on 12thMay. The Senegalese, who has wide experience working with the United Nations in several countries, is the first –ever woman to hold the position in FIFA's 112 –year history. A few days after her appointment, Samoura welcomed Pinnick and NFF 2nd Vice President/LMC chairman, Shehu Dikko, to a breakfast meeting at her UN office in Abuja.

Co-founder of the Bring Back Our Girls Advocacy group, and former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili on Monday reacted to the death of the female RCCG preacher butchered to death by some unidentified persons in Abuja. So far, 6 suspects have been arrested in connection with the gruesome murder and are currently in Police custody undergoing interrogation.

Bauchi police arrest suspect with dead son's head

A man identified as Maikudi Mohammed from Galambi village in Bauchi has been arrested by the state police command after the severed head of his deceased son was found with him in Misau town. Spokesperson of the state police command, SP Haruna Mohammed in a statement released today July 11th, said Maikudi was arrested following an intelligence report.

He stated that preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect conspired with his accomplice, Damina Mohammed from Galambi village to carry out the act.

When interrogated, Maikudi confessed that himself and Damina went to the grave of his son who recently died, exhumed his corpse and removed the head so they can sell it to their customer who is currently at large. Police say further investigations into the matter is ongoing.
