Indian man kills his stunning Congolese wife, chops her body into pieces and set them ablaze

Posted: 05 Jul 2016 12:50 PM PDT

A businessman strangulated his wife, a Congolese national, (the stunning lady pictured above) cut the body into pieces and set them ablaze, police said on Tuesday, July 5.

Rupesh Kumar Mohanani, 36, was caught by people in Madanpally village in Shamshabad on the outskirts of Hyderabad, India after they found him pouring petrol on a bag containing the body pieces and burning it.

The deceased has been identified as Cynthia Vechel, 30, a club dancer in Congo. She had been living with her husband in Hyderabad since 2012.

According to police, Mohanani and his wife were having frequent quarrels over financial matters as he had suffered losses in stock market. He was also suspicious that she was cheating on him, claiming she frequently chatted with her male friends through Facebook.

They had a fight in the early hours of Sunday July 4th in their flat in Gachibowli. "In a fit of rage he throttled her neck and killed her brutally. With an intent to screen out the evidence, he cut the body of deceased into pieces with knife, a hammer and an axe, placed them in a bag and left the house in a car to dispose the dead body," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shamshabad Zone) Sunpreet Singh.

Mohanani had gone to Congo in 1999 and was working as a salesman in a departmental store. He used to visit a club for entertainment, where he met Cynthia in 2006. They fell in love and married in a church in 2008. The couple came to India in 2012 and had applied for Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card. They have an eight-year-old daughter.

Police booked Rupesh for murder and for causing disappearance of evidence. The Congolese Embassy in Delhi has been informed about the incident, police said.

Fathima, who had come to India on a tourist visa, was staying with her friends for the past one year. Cannibal crocodile devours younger rival after one-sided battle

Posted: 05 Jul 2016 12:35 PM PDT

German wildlife photographer, Jens Cullman, was at a waterhole at Mana Pools National Park in Zimbabwe, Africa when he witnessed nature at its savage best. An older crocodile attacked a younger rival which was no match for the bigger beast. The big bully clamped his jaw down on his unlucky adversary and tossed him around like a rag doll.

Jens said: "There were lots of loud bangs as the dead croc repeatedly hit the water surface.
"Lots of birds around the waterhole were hanging around, hoping to get a piece of him. But in the end the big croc swam away with the dead croc. It was a very rare sighting – I've never heard of a cannibal croc before!"

Read President Buhari's Eid el fitr message to Nigerians

Posted: 05 Jul 2016 12:27 PM PDT

Read it below...
I felicitate with all Nigerians, especially the Muslim Ummah, on the occasion of this year's Eid El Fitr, which marks the completion of the Ramadan fast. I congratulate Muslims in Nigeria and around the world on the successful completion of this month-long spiritual journey of fasting, prayer and almsgiving in obedience to the Divine Command.
I sincerely pray that the Almighty Allah will reward our sacrifices with increased blessing and a more prosperous future.
On this happy occasion, it is my strong belief that all true followers of Islam have been rejuvenated on the true meaning and essence of life and through the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), we have learnt to imbibe the virtues of piety, sacrifice, love, self-denial and good conduct in our daily relationship with one another.
As we celebrate another Eid El Fitr, I admonish all patriotic Nigerians to uphold these lessons and also appreciate the numerous material and human blessings God has endowed us with.
Let us learn to show gratitude, respect and tolerance to one other, irrespective of our religion, tribe, language and political leanings, as we forge ahead to build on our strengths and opportunities to make Nigeria great again.
On Monday this week, the Vice President, the Speaker of the House of Representatives and other government officials joined me to host Iftar reception at the State House with Nigerians of different backgrounds including Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), artisans and Physically-challenged persons.
Like I said during the reception, I want to once again appeal to those of us who have the means, to remember the millions of Nigerians who are suffering deprivation because of violence perpetrated by terrorists.
I am not unaware of what Nigerians are going through and I want to use this medium to commend the amazing sacrifices of Nigerians in the face of the temporary economic and social challenges and also reassure Nigerians that my administration is working assiduously towards providing basic needs and other amenities.
Let me also use this opportunity to reaffirm that we will not relent in the fight against corruption and we will ensure that all appropriate and legal measures are deplored to root out this malaise.
I commend the Armed Forces and security agencies for the gains recorded in the fight against terrorists and the rescue of hostages in the North East part of the country.
I also appeal for the support, understanding and patience of all Nigerians and our international partners as we explore the fastest means to end the economic sabotage in the Niger Delta and amicably resolve the conflicts within the region.
I promise you all better days ahead even as we remain grateful for your unflinching support to our administration.
Happy Eid El Fitr celebration and May the Almighty Allah continue to bless our nation.
Eid Mubarak!

Complete your building projects with Emilinks N1billion Door promo!

Posted: 05 Jul 2016 09:51 AM PDT

Times are hard and many Nigerians for lack of purchasing power are unfortunately being forced to abandon their building projects. To help stop this sad trend, a patriotic Nigerian entrepreneur in the building industry is attacking this problem with a never-seen-before audacious solution. Who is he and what's this never-seen-before audacious solution?

If you'd like to see a picture of a man so intensely passionate about what he does, take a
selfie with Solomon Emeka Nwadiogbu, the chairman of Emilinks Limited. Or, better still,
have a five-minute chat with him.

You will not only be swept into the arcane world of door manufacturing, which he currently
dominates, you will also be inspired by the immensely ebullient businessman's perspicacity.
It is this transcendent insight into the Nigerian way of life that has moved him to shatter the
prices of all his company's products.

Right now he wants to give Nigerians one billion naira in discounts on all Emilinks doors,

All these products are now cheaper by as much as 65%!

In the building industry, some think this move by Nwadiogbu is mental; others believe there
is probably more to the Emilinks 'Name Your Price' promo than meets the eye.

To the man, however, a radical price drop on all products is exactly what the doctor ordered
for Nigeria.

The way the country is at the moment, money is hard to come by for many people, he says.
"We saw this coming a few months ago and we decided to do something about it. We
decided to make life more bearable for people. We believe that no one should have to
terminate their building projects because of the prevailing economic situation in the
country."

By "we", Nwadiogbu is referring to the seven-year-old luxury door manufacturing division
of the Emilinks group. Since February 2016, the corporation has been selling its usually
premium-priced doors at incredibly low prices.

Today, it is giving away its 900mm x 2.1m hand-finished wooden door for between
N150,000 and N120,000. Ordinarily, this door retails for about N350,000.

The popular solid wood flush door that used to be N110,000 is now only N50,000, and the
Economic Flush Door is currently at N30,000 instead of N60,000.

Also, Emilinks is selling the limited edition 2.4m-height 100-percent wooden door for about
N160,000, down from N400,000. The Emilinks Historic Armour Door was normally valued
at N3m; now it is only N1m. This Armour Door is made with galvanised steel and pure
forest wood.

Similarly, all security doors—non-corroding and non-rusting—that used to be sold at
370,000 per unit are now available at N150,000 each.

What about the Emilinks made-in-Italy fire-rated door? That's now 50-percent cheaper at
N120,000.

The Kitchen and Wardrobe product categories of the company weren't left out too; a 3 meter kitchen formerly sold for N850,000 is now going for N200,000.

Also, the wardrobes of 1.7m, 1.5m, 1m which were sold for N350,000 - N250,000 is now selling for N100,000 respectively.

Altogether, the company plans to give away 1 billion naira in discounts with a guarantee not warranty of maximum premium quality.

According to Nwadiogbu the consumer incurs no additional cost on frames, lock, cylinder,
handles, and keys because all doors come with them by default.

"I know what we're doing is astonishing to many people," he says. "But we are the only
company in Nigeria that can pull make this happen. We sell doors in 82 countries and can
afford to bring our savings home to Nigerians."

Besides, Emilinks runs a 360-degree manufacturing operation that includes harvesting trees
from farms that it owns in Europe, styling and processing the logs at its own cutting-edge
plant, and distributing the hand-finished products from its four warehouses in Lagos.

If this sounds too good to be true, Nwadiogbu contends, "then people should come see for
themselves."

Barack Obama sings & wishes daughter Malia a happy birthday alongside Kendrick Lamar (photos)

Posted: 05 Jul 2016 09:48 AM PDT

U.S president Barack Obama wished his first daughter Malia a happy 18th birthday on Monday, 4th of July, the same day America celebrated its independence.
Obama, flanked by rapper Kendrick Lamar, belted out a croaky version of happy birthday song to his daughter, while the crowd at the annual Fourth of July party at the White House cheered on.

Malia, who will begin her studies at Harvard in 2017 after graduating from high school in June, embraced Kendrick Lamar and Janelle Monae on stage after her father sang Happy Birthday to her.

'Because it's a job of fathers to embarrass their daughters, I've got one last job,' Obama joked as the audience began to applaud. 'It just so happens we celebrate our country's birthday on the same day as my oldest daughter's birthday, so just a quick Happy Birthday for Malia,' Obama added before breaking into song. Woman whose son was expelled from a hostel for advising a student to report a case of sexual molestation gives an update

Posted: 05 Jul 2016 09:38 AM PDT

Mayokun Akpoterabor, the woman who alleged that her son, Medad Akpoterabor, was expelled from his school hostel because he advised a junior female student to report a case of sexual molestation, (read here) gave an update on the matter. Please read after the cut...

Paid a visit to my son's school this morning in the company of just 3 out of several other concerned friends, fathers, mothers, aunties and uncles, who called and expressed their intention to follow me down here to clarify issues. The 3 are - Dr Dokun Adedeji Mr. Olusola Egberedu and PastorAjayi Keji
We got to speak first with the Director of studies, Mr Solomon Ashiegbu. Even the strong will shudder at his explanation and responses, the weak will simply pass out. I was dangling between the two ends, it took God's grace to stay sane and calm!
He noted that my son Medad Akpoterabor was suspended because they presume he wanted to get the child in question suspended!
Is intention to expel enough reason, or grave-ier than molestation? He said they are equal? Why was the same sanction not meted out to the molester as the intended-advocate-of-expulsion aka Medad? Hear his defence - the molester and molested were given working suspension meaning washing plate and mopping! That to him is equal, even, fair! E gba mi - even the molested girl was punished! Jesu mi!
A lot of things he said will make one almost blank out in amazement. Really this man is a father? A DOS?
Well, it was established - molestation happened, Medad was suspended for advising with the intent to witch-hunt Miss Molester, and tarnish the school's image. That is still his offence.
By when questions came from all directions, the DOS started exonerating himself from some actions. The heat was too much, so he excused himself, put a call to the Proprietress, Mrs Mary Iyayi, who asked the parliament - all of us - to proceed to her office!
On getting to her office, may I note that her disposition was, to be modest, "ok so what?!"
Some 15 minutes into laying the foundation of our visit (not even rolling back to the last 2 hours + of discussion at the DOS office o), she couldn't bear being asked questions and bluntly stood and said she owes the three gentlemen who came with me no explanation! She picked her bag, and made to leave, she wanted to walk out on us!
At that time, the three wonderful men - responsible fathers, mentors, role models and my great friends in need, stood up to her and gave her her match! Verbally ooooo (we are too civil to get into anything more than English grammar nah).
We left her office of course, angry at such effrontery!
We decided to proceed to the next level. A friend Suyi Adebayo had called me early this morning offering to take the matter up pro bono. One or two other legal minds had assured they are just a call away. With that we left.
I had asked Medad to join his mates in school when we got there in the morning, since there was no need of him being at the discussions between adults. If his attention was needed, we will call him, I had instructed him.
I had also sighted him with his Basketball Team when we were migrating from Mr Ashiegbu's office to Mrs Iyayi's, he was happy to be back - his team mates also showed their delight. He told me they will soon leave for the venue of the match between them and Dansol School, just within the neighborhood.
When we left the Proprietress office, I assumed they had left, with the plan to go pick him when he is done, so we all drove out after I thanked the gentlemen greatly.
Not quite 8 minutes after I left, my son called that he was thrown out of the school, on an instruction just left by Mrs Iyayi, that he should not be allowed in!
I drove back like....
Didn't Ashiegbu just repeatedly say the suspension was just from the hostel? Didn't the letter even specify "to leave the hostel"? Mrs Iyayi won't stop at taking any decision just so she proves she can do anything to crush my son?!!!!
I demanded a letter to state they don't want him inside the school, the DOS said it was an omission that should have been included in the suspension letter. Said Mrs Iyayi had verbally instructed Medad not to enter the school two weeks ago? Nah nah nah! Changing narrative within the space of few hours???? The same man that said no one says he shouldn't be in school or participate in any activity? Now this people are messing with my sanity!
In between, the girl that was molested, quickly shared some facts with me, hurriedly gave me her mum's number, and told me things that will get any sane and responsible parent miffed. You will be awed!
Did I mention I have it all recorded?
#IstandWithMedad
Truth will prevail!
To be contd...

Buhari condoles with Saudi Arabia Govt over yesterday's suicide attack

Posted: 05 Jul 2016 09:37 AM PDT

Press statement from the presidency
President Buhari has condemned the suicide bombing in Madinah, which occurred on Monday in Islam's second holiest city. Condoling with Saudi authorities over the reprehensible attack, President Buhari said the development was a desecration of all that was sacred and holy, as it took place near the Prophet's Mosque, and on one of the holy days of Ramadan.

"The merchants of evil have once again shown that there is nothing religious in their mindless acts, by striking near the Prophet's Mosque. It validates the claim that terrorism really has nothing to do with Islam. Purveyors of terror are simply agents of the devil," President Buhari said. The fact that the Madinah bombing came the same day as a suicide bomber struck near the US Consulate in Jeddah, also in Saudi Arabia, shows that it was an orchestrated plan to foul up the Eid-el-Fitr celebration, President Buhari asserted, and urges nations to remain vigilant, "so that we can collectively beat the forces of darkness on the prowl round the globe." President Buhari stresses that terrorism no longer respects international boundaries, and charges humanity to rise as one body "to excise this vermin from our body polity, and assert our liberty from those who pander to base and vicious instincts." "With our collective resolve, we shall beat terrorism. Around the world and around the clock, let us be alert. And we would remain free and safe." he said.

Woman narrates how her son was expelled from his hostel in Lagos for asking a female student to report a case of sexual molestation

Posted: 05 Jul 2016 09:21 AM PDT

Mayokun Akpoterabor, pictured, has accused her son's school, Cayley College on Celestial Church Street, off Amaraolu street, Agidingbi, Lagos, of expelling him from the hostel because he advised a junior female student to report a case of sexual molestation from another female student to a teacher. Read what she shared on her Facebook wall after the cut..

What should I do?
My son got expelled from the hostel in the middle of his NECO exams for....(wait for it)....advising a junior student (girl), who reported a case of molestation by another student (girl) to him, to go tell a teacher she is comfortable with. The school says he shouldn't have advised, but to hush....keep quiet...stay mum....gbenudake! (sounds weird huh?).
I've been calm in the past two weeks since it happened, only my few friends (3) knew the heavy burden I've borne. I have been giving support to my son through this period. He was too shocked to believe he is being punished for what he thought was right to do - advising the poor girl to open up to an adult!
The molesting student was punished - how? To wash plates. Molestation in every word o - breast-touching, forcing her for a kiss, ati bee bee lo.
The school did not even mind what psychological effect this might have on my son who had a paper the very next day!
The Proprietress had called me that Monday morning, demanding I come quickly. Being Monday, a heavily -packed one with meetings and activities, I appealed to push the 'urgent' meeting till the next day. She reluctantly agreed, then I asked to know why the urgency, she said she does not think she can keep having my son in the hostel. Wetin happen? She said she cannot discuss the matter on phone. I wondered! I still visited two days earlier, what could have gone wrong in the last 48 hours?!! With that I promised to see her the next day - Tuesday. Whossai! She called my son to her office after the call, and suspended him. The poor boy went on his kneels asking that he be forgiven for advising! The woman drove him out o, querying why his mother did not abandon whatever she was doing to come answer her call. My son even explained how heavy her widow-mother's work-life is, she won't bulge! I am one that goes to any length to honour even the slightest call for attention from my children or their school or even teachers o. Those that know me will attest to this. I devote time to my sons at ANY cost!
Anyway, I have chosen not to even dignify the school authority with a call talk less of a visit since then. I just take him for his exam and pick him after. The owner loves to cow her staff and anyone willing. Definitely not me!
The suspension letter did not state reasons for suspension but put this:
"He (my sweet son o) is only allowed to sit for the exams and leave promptly after each paper" as if na thief he thief o!
The shock for me in the past two weeks no get Part 2. I have kept how hurting this has been to my chest. Suspended for advising to report molestation..ghen ghen
He took his last paper yesterday, so I am asking: what is best to do now?
PS: The school suspended a student this way last year also, over a mere exchange between him and the housemaster (that's another loongggg story), blotted out his picture from their year book, denied him to partake in the graduation, did not hand him the 4 awards due him, last year/session. Obviously, all the lies they slammed at the poor kid, the parents unknowingly believed and trashed their son the more. It is good to know your children well so you know when they are being lied against and chide them accordingly when they are the one in the wrong. Most parents always think "these adults can't be wrong nah" "Grandma can't be lying against you ke". Well, I got to know about the case well after, and even took the Director of Studies up on what I thought was "a bazooka treatment on a mosquito" kilode! He tried to justify their actions. Little did I know they would soon reach my side. Now, my few friends that know about my son's ill-treatment by the school are also concerned the school might go all out after my son. They've been wondering why I never tear them sef!
Reason for their concern: this same housemaster suddenly started picking on my son in February this year accusing him of all sorts of unthinkable things. Because I know my sons wella, they are my homies, trust me - we be bff - it was easy for me to know something was amiss. A little investigation and I discovered the housemaster wanted a puppet, an accomplice to perpetrate injustice. Before I could act, my son was suspended from the hostel. E gba mi somebody! I flew down to the school, and by when I revealed all my findings, the suspension was not only reversed, the housemaster in question was fired!
I think the Proprietress and some who felt their ego was bruised by forcing them to see how much their values stink haven't forgiven me (my son). Number of students drop every year, I am told. Now I know why. My son joined them two years ago.
Even with this latest happenings, I have received calls from some teachers appealing to me, a few parents and many students are wondering why I am not acting. Heard some form of silent kicking is brewing - students, some teachers who are not in the Proprietress circle.
As I write this, his Basketball Team mates are calling him to come join them for training preparatory to some Valedictory matches earlier scheduled. He is the tallest in his school and quite liked by most students, I guess for his calm but fun way of relating to all. A teacher had assured him he will speak with the Proprietress and demand that he partakes. This teacher spoke with him few days before this whole drama unfolded to be strong and know that something unpalatable was about to happen, some outcome he (my son) would never have expected. My son told me about this conversation with the teacher just few days ago. All the puzzle just coming together now, he said to me.
I doubt if I even want him to go to the school now should they ask him to come for the Training, because of the clause on his suspension letter. Make somebody no go ask while he came haven been strictly stated not to come except for his exams.
Missing out on all the fun of just finishing secondary school, the good-bye activities, plans to really celebrate leaving a landmark stage of one's life and all, is getting to him. I've been talking to him since morning, encouraging him but at some point, I was moved to tears. He is being deprived of all these for doing the right thing! Not easy when you suffer this way o!
And I just hope they won't say he shouldn't come for his graduation o.
This poor woman - Mayokun Akpoterabor - needs your advice.
Thank you.

He said this while breaking the Ramadan fast with IDPs, the physically challenged, taxi drivers, commercial motorcycle riders and artisans at the presidential villa yesterday July 4th
