Media reports in Germany have cited local police saying that several people have been injured and six people feared dead as a gunman went on rampage in the Olympia shopping center in Munich, southern Germany Friday evening.

The assailant entered the shopping mall and randomly opened fire on people in a cafe located at the centre. Then the shooter left the mall and headed towards a railway, German BR24 news reports, adding that the shooter is apparently still on the run

The "Süddeutsche Zeitung" newspaper said it received confirmation of the incident from the police. Police have responded with a major operation surrounding the area.
Workers at the shopping center have told the paper that they could not leave the shops. Underground train services have also been suspended.

A helicopter has been filmed hovering overhead. According to AP, one person has been killed and 10 injured.

Nuhu Ribadu leaves PDP, rejoins APC

Posted: 22 Jul 2016 12:46 PM PDT

There have been rumors that he left PDP and re-joined APC, a party of which he was a founding member. He has just released a statement confirming the rumors. Read his statement below
I have finally heeded the calls on me to return to the All Progressives Congress (APC), a party of which I was a founding member. I re-registered as a member of the APC on Thursday through the party's online portal. After that, the leadership of the party in my Bako ward of Yola South Local Government Area visited me in my Yola residence to welcome me back to their fold.
My decision to return to the APC was triggered by my believe that all politics are local. Almost everyone around me, and with whom we started my political journey believed the time had come for us to make sacrifices and make concessions. That is in addition to the unbelievable love that my friends in the APC have showered on me in the past months. They demonstrated in words and action that they wanted me back home. I also did a deep and long reassessment of the circumstances that warranted my exit from the APC in the first place. I left the APC in 2014 owing to fundamental disagreements with the ways the chapter of the party in my state was run after it fell into some hands. Some colleagues and I tried hard to save the then APC administration from an orchestrated impeachment plot which was unfortunately carried out with active collaboration of some ranking APC members in the state. However, events in the last 15 months have addressed many of the issues and healed some of the wounds. More so, with the genuine and sincere invitations I received since last year to retrace my steps into the party, I decided to return after consulting family and political associates at all levels. I would like to appreciate all those members of the party who privately and publicly prodded me to return to the party. My appreciation also goes to the leadership of our party, from my ward in Bako to the national leadership, for the enthusiasm they showed in having me back. NR

Former Bolton/Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce named new England coach

Posted: 22 Jul 2016 09:08 AM PDT

Sam Allardyce is the new manager of the England National football team. He was appointed today after days of negotiations with the English FA and he's been tasked with restoring the football glory once associated with the English team as the F.A don't want a repeat of the awful showing at Euro 2016 were England exited at the hands of minnows Iceland.

"I am extremely honoured to be appointed England manager especially as it is no secret that this is the role I have always wanted," Allardyce told TheFA.com. "For me, it is absolutely the best job in English football. I will do everything I can to help England do well and give our nation the success our fans deserve.

"Above all, we have to make the people and the whole country proud. I know we have talented, committed players and it is time for us to deliver."

In taking the reins of his country, the 61-year-old is handed his first opportunity to represent England, having never won an international cap during a two-decade playing career. 'Big Sam', as he has been known throughout his managerial career, took the role after steering Sunderland clear of relegation from the English Premier League.

Update on the report of a Lady who poured 'hot palm oil' on her boyfriend over an unconfirmed allegation

Posted: 22 Jul 2016 09:06 AM PDT

Some days ago, LIB reported about a Lady who allegedly poured hot palm oil on her boyfriend in the middle of the night, over an allegation that he impregnated someone. (Read here). There's a new update which reveals that the lady has since escaped to Europe. Read below.

According to a friend of the victim, the incident actually happened on January 22, 2016. It was not made public because the case was under investigation by the Nigeria Police. However, the girl in question was not captured and has since travelled out of Nigeria to Europe. The victim on the other hand was flown to Malaysia for treatment and has returned back home in good conditions, but is still having some minor issues as the hot oil affected his eyes and tonque. Sadly, he lost his father as a result of this case. When his now late father came to visit him at the hospital and saw his condition was critical, his BP rose and was very high. He eventually died the next day.

As for the perpetrator, She called the victim later on and was pleading with him, putting the blame on the devil and insisting that she just understood the consequences of her action. The young man however wants justice and hopes that the girl can be captured to face law. He also needs financial help to further his treatment in the hospital.

Epic fight ensues after furious wife catches husband at airport with mistress (photos)

What could have been a romantic getaway with a married man & his mistress turned into a nightmare for a sidechick when the man's wife showed up at the airport and caught them both.

Mobile footage of the incident taken at an airport shows one angry woman dragging another around by her hair as stunned onlookers stand nearby.

The pair can be seen spinning around a terminal lounge as a number of people try to break up the fight. Such incidents are commonplace in China where women publicly fight over men.

One woman was left sobbing by the roadside surrounded by chunks of her hair and in ripped clothes after being ambushed by two women.

Appeal Court affirms David Mark’s election

Posted: 22 Jul 2016 08:30 AM PDT

The Court of Appeal sitting in Makurdi, Benue state today affirmed the decision of the state election petition tribunal to uphold the February 20th 2015 election of former Senate President, David Mark for the Benue South Senatorial district. APC candidate in the election, Daniel Onjeh, had petitioned the state election tribunal over Mark's victory at the polls.

The election tribunal in its ruling on June 30th dismissed Onjeh's objection saying he failed to file in his objection within the 21-days from the election as enshrined in the constitution. A dissatisfied Onjeh headed to the Court of Appeal to ask for an overturn of the tribunal's decision.

In its ruling today, Justice Oyebisi Omoleye agreed with the lower tribunal in dismissing Onjeh's petition.

Inside the £500million palace of Turkey's president plus his wife's extravagant shopping sprees

Posted: 22 Jul 2016 08:34 AM PDT

This report found on Daily Mail claims that Turkey's president, Tayyip Erdogan, spent £500million on a lavish presidential palace. According to the online news outlet, more than £26million was spent on doors for the opulent edifice while carpets cost over £7million.

They also claim his wife, Emine goes on extravagant shopping sprees and once shut down a shopping mall in Brussels in order to shop for designer bags. On another occasion, she blew £37000 on antique shopping while accompanying her husband on an official trip to Poland. Read the full report after the cut.
She claims to live a 'humble and modest' life with strict Muslim values, whiling away the hours in palace kitchen fermenting apples and turning them into vinegar.

But while her tyrant husband President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has amassed a £139million fortune with at least three palaces across Turkey, his 'shopaholic' wife Emine likes nothing more than spending money.

Emine Erdogan's jet-set lifestyle is a whirlwind of one shopping trip after another where her particular passions are designer clothes and expensive antiques.
As a quarter of her country live in extreme poverty and almost two million live on just £3 a day, the president's wife boasts she drinks specialist white tea at £1,500 a kilo… and drinks it from gold leaf glasses worth £250 each.

She once closed down a shopping mall in Brussels to go on a designer shopping spree and while accompanying her husband on an official visit to Warsaw in Poland blew through more than £37,000 while browsing an antiques bazaar.
Any items she found would no doubt be needed for the huge palace Erdogan has constructed in the foothills outside the Turkish capital Ankara.

Covering an area of 1.6sq miles the mega palace has cost more than £500m to build with no expense spared on its fixture and fittings.
From silk wallpaper costing as much as £2,000 a roll to £36,000 for each pair of double doors that are needed for the hundreds of rooms.
One estimate has the bill for more than 400 extra large double doors that measure 3.2m high by 2m wide at over £5m.
Add in the 450 single doors needed and the final bill for doors has been put at over £26m.
In keeping with the no expense spared build even carpeting for the 366,000 sq ft palace is more than £7m.
Critics of the monstrous building have said it is so extravagant that it would have made Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, known for his love of gold and jewel encrusted fittings, blush.
Others have derided the architecture of the palace saying it looks like more like a Chinese railway station than anything from the former Ottoman empire.

The building, known as the White Palace, cost more than twice the original estimate but Erdogan has dismissed criticism by saying it boosts Turkey's profile in the world.
When asked why he wanted a new Palace he said cockroaches in his old office when he was Prime Minister meant it was uninhabitable.

When construction began he claimed he would be using all 'natural' materials from Turkey.
But opponents who have seen the architectural plans say the roof comes from Germany while green marble used in guest rooms was purchased from India.
Other materials used in the construction come from the UK, France and Italy.

Even the trees planted in the extensive grounds were from Italy and Holland.
Erdogan sees the Palace as reward for leading the country to prosperity - but others say it shows his increasing authoritarianism.

During the failed coup F-16 jets bombed the Palace, but the extent of any damage is not yet known.
As well as being the home for Erdogan, the Palace is also a command and control centre.
Like the White House in the US it includes a situation room and bunkers able to withstand a biological, chemical and nuclear attack.

Erdogan's extravagance appears to extend to his wife Emine who while running the Presidential Palace professes to lead a frugal life.
She ended up being ridiculed after a newspaper that supports her husband's AKP party attempted to portray the 60-year-old as someone who watches every penny of the household budget.

The article revealed how Emine managed the palace kitchen and insisted on recycling lemon and apple peels to make them into vinegar.
It also boasted of how they use their olive and date pits to make sauces and suggested that the population follow Emine's lead in drinking white tea from the Rize region of Turkey.
While white tea is readily available what the article failed to mention is the tea Emine has served at the Palace costs up to £1,500 for a kilo.

The article led to Emine and her husband being branded hypocrites on social media.
Emine, a mother of four, is known for her love of designer handbags and clothes.
During a visit last October to Brussels she had her bodyguards seal off the entrance to a shopping mall while she visited the Longchamps store where she spent 1500 Euros.

Other shoppers were prevented from entering the mall in Louise Avenue while she walked round the store, which sells expensive handbags and luggage.
Her husband was in town to join other EU leaders searching for a solution to the refugee crisis.
Earlier this year Emine said Ottoman era harems were 'inspirational' educational establishments.

The comment provoked a backlash but not as much as the following day when her husband caused outrage in a speech to mark International Women's Day, when he said a woman was 'above all a mother'.
But criticism of the couple is rare as those who speak out are likely to end up in jail.
While the population have got used to Erdogan's extravagance with his palace, the source of his wealth remains something of a mystery.

According to Forbes magazine the 62 year old topped the list of the highest paid political figures with his earnings put at £43.2m.
His personal fortune is said to be over £139m built up over the years from stock investment and a substantial property portfolio..

With Erdogan now strengthening his grip on the country after the botched coup conditions for those on the poverty line are unlikely to improve.

Two out of every three children in Turkey live in poverty by European Union standards, according to a report prepared by Bahcesehir University's Centre for Economic and Social Research.
Turkey leads Southern Europe countries as well as other less-developed European countries such as Hungary and Romania in child poverty with 63 per cent of children aged under 15 in living in poverty.

In Romania, which has the closest rate to Turkey, this rate is 36 percent, while in Greece it is 16.5 percent and in Italy it is 12.4 percent.

Of the 20 million people living in rural Turkey more than two million fall below the poverty line and live on less than £3 a day.
Across the country the average annual wage is just over £5,000 compared to £21,000 in the UK.

A Must-Read letter to Parents who desire the very best for their kids

Posted: 22 Jul 2016 07:02 AM PDT

Dear Parent, We perfectly understand how disappointed you feel about Junior's academic performance this just concluded session. We could feel the heaviness in your heart through your words when you said, you were totally fed-up. We know you want him to be top of his class, you want him to make you proud, and you want to be recognised as the parent whose son is the champion among his peers. We feel your pain and we have great news for you: this is the best time to change his story for the better by getting him an excellent, highly experienced Tutor from Tuteria Nigeria.

On the other hand, Juliet seems comfortable in her class but you wonder why she was not among the top ten performers last term. You know she's active and naturally intelligent, but somehow, she doesn't seem to be doing what it takes to excel in school. True, sometimes children don't feel challenged enough and may need a personal mentor; and that's where we excel. Having worked with over 250 satisfied families like yours and being featured on Forbes, Al-Jazeera, Channels, CCTV and a host of others, you can be sure to entrust us with the task of positioning your beloved children for enormous success in life starting from this holiday.

So put an end to all forms of learning disabilities and challenges, and lack of confidence in their lives by investing in them properly this holiday and be sure to use the code SUMMER10 when placing your request on www.tuteria.com to get 10% discount off your lesson fee for the summer!

But it's not only restricted to academics. From Tuteria, you can learn other skills like Music and Languages, and prepare for any exam ((IELTS, ACCA, SAT, GRE, GMAT, ICAN, IGCSE etc.) from highly experienced and verified Tutors anywhere in Nigeria and in the comfort of your home or anywhere convenient. Unlike anywhere else, we set very high standards for safety. We meticulously verify each Tutor's online and offline identities, get up to 2 guarantors, and also conduct background checks on your behalf to ensure your peace of mind at all times. Our Clients also rate Tutors' performance and only those rated above 70% are allowed to continue. We also monitor the lessons with detailed lesson plans even in your absence. As a company, we remain loyal and dedicated to meeting your needs and even surpassing them.

You may call 09094526878, 08179323579 or email info@tuteria.com to get a well-experienced tutor near you, or visit our head office in Lagos at 108, Herbert Macaulay Street, Ebute-Metta, Yaba Lagos.

The journey to your children's academic successes and fulfilled lives can begin this holiday by your decision. Remember an investment in education always yields the best dividends, so let's do this. We'll be happy to work with you.

With all love and goodwill,

The Tuteria Team
