Kemi Nelson denies collecting N75m from Remi Tinubu to organize a protest against Dino Melaye Posted: 19 Jul 2016 12:45 PM PDT Yesterday Dino Melaye shared a post on his Facebook wall alleging that his colleague, Remi Tinubu had given Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Kemi Nelson N75million to organise a rally against him. Reacting to the report, Kemi Nelson said it was false. In a statement she personally signed and released today July 19th, Nelson said she doesn't need to collect money from Remi Tinubu or her husband, Bola Tinubu whom are her mentors, to stage a protest. She however confirmed that she and a group of women will be staging a protest in Abuja tomorrow against Dino Melaye "We are moving to Abuja in full force to be part of this protest against Melaye for harassing a woman of substance like Senator Tinubu, whose family paid a huge price for our democracy. Our democracy is still nascent and we must do everything within our power to protect it. We should not allow people like Melaye to rubbish what took years and cost us several lives to achieve. What Melaye did was not just against Senator Tinubu, but against all women and against our democracy. We will not behave like Nero, who sleeps, while Rome burns. All right thinking members of the society must rise against this oppression and an open insult against women by a man that has done little or nothing for our democracy. We cannot pretend that nothing is happening, when such a sacrilege is being committed in our country. With what Melaye has done, he has been demystified and he should be recalled by his people without any delay. We cannot keep quiet at this material time. As Professor Wole Soyinka would say; 'the man dies, who keeps silent in the face of tyranny"the statement read |
20-year-old woman gives birth to three sets of twins in 26 months & uses no fertility drugs Posted: 19 Jul 2016 12:26 PM PDT A 20 year old woman named Danish Couch from Kansas has given birth to three sets of twins in a little over two years, with the latest born last month. "People just consider me a freak of nature when I tell them," said the 20-year-old mom, who apparently has a condition in which she releases more than one egg per month. Couch delivered two boys 26 months ago but one of them died from complications of premature birth. Fourteen months later, twin girls Delilah and Davina, were born. The third set, Dalanie and Darla, both girls, were born last month. They came home after three weeks in neonatal intensive care. "So you have two eggs simutaneously coming down the tubes getting ready to be fertilised," Dr. Elizabeth Wickstorm of Shawnee Mission Medical Centre told WDAF. The twins are all fraternal, meaning that they are from two separate eggs being fertilised, not from an egg splitting. Couch is engaged to the father of the second and third set of twins, Jeffrey Presler and are planning to get married on September. Presler is an aquarium technician and also works at Gas-mart. "I love babies, but maybe in 10 to 15 years, when these ones are big enough to help," she told Inside Edition. The young family have been denied benefits. "I have tried to sign up for benefits and got denied...I try best I can as a mother but sometimes I need help and honestly I am not too proud to ask," said Couch. |
Ignore allegations of corruption against my ministers- President Buhari tells Nigerians Posted: 19 Jul 2016 12:16 PM PDT President Buhari has appealed to Nigerians to ignore orchestrated attempts to ruin the integrity of ministers and other senior government officials, who are being tarred with the brush of corruption without any concrete evidence. Reacting to reports, particularly by online media, that the immediate past Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), who is also Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr Ibe Kachikwu, is being investigated over crude oil swap deals and gas liftings during his tenure as GMD of the petroleum corporation, President Buhari appealed for decent and civilized comments, particularly when it has to do with the integrity of those who are serving the country. "Terrible and unfounded comments about other people's integrity are not good. We are not going to spare anybody who soils his hands, but people should please wait till such individuals are indicted," the President said.President Buhari reiterated the administration's commitment to probity, accountability and integrity, promising that transparency remains a watchword, which would never be trifled with. |

The distribution of these hearing aids began with 5 other states namely Akwa Ibom, Bauchi, Benue, Anambra and Katsina. Speaking at the distribution ceremony in Lagos State, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, represented by Dr. Olufemi Olubayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the Governor on Primary Health Care, said, "Today's gesture by the MTN Foundation to the people of Lagos State is a remarkable one. "MTN Foundation has always walked tall in the execution of its CSR projects delivering socially impactful initiatives in vital sectors like education, health and economic empowerment. These activities can disrupt their operations and prevent them from rendering services that are beneficial to the entire nation."The beneficiaries of the hearing aids devices are those who emerged successful after the audiometric assessment conducted by certified ENT nurses and doctors. The beneficiaries are now proud owners of top of the range hearing aids devices. MTN Foundation has also partnered with International Center for Prevention of Deafness and Rehabilitation of Hearing Impaired Persons (ICPDRHIP), to help in the fitting and post review activities of the hearing aids given to the beneficiaries.
