Fayose: Buhari is using corrupt EFCC to fight corruption, says; "EFCC should stop media trial"

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has declared that President Mohammadu Buhari was using an equally corrupt Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to stamp out corruption in Nigeria, insisting that the President must start the corruption fight from his party and immediate aides since charity begins from home.The governor said:

"EFCC opinions remain their opinions and if they are so sure of whatever information they have, they should go to court and stop subjecting Nigerians to media trial and that no amount of media trial from the same elements that orchestrated my removal in 2006 can erode my popularity among Ekiti people."
He said any property that may be linked to him or his company was bought legitimately and his properties were duly declared in his assets declaration form and sources of such funds were not illicit.

In a release issued on Wednesday by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, maintained that his election was funded by Zenith Bank as well as donations from friends and associates, adding that;
"As a promising candidate of my party, I cannot stop Nigerians from supporting my election like every other candidates of other political, including President Buhari."
He said since the money he got for his election was from legitimate sources and not from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) as being concocted, how the money was spent remained his own business and not that of anyone.

The governor also debunked the reported allegation by the EFCC that he received bribe from any contractor in Ekiti; saying; "if they have anything against me, they should keep their gun powder dry.
"Because in 2006 when they took me to court, their allegations crumbled like pack of cards because court decisions are founded on facts and law, and not on media trial as currently being done by the EFCC as teleguided by the APC in their desperation to set the people against me knowing fully that they are not on ground."
He added:
"having failed to buy the conscience of Ekiti House of Assembly members, the APC people have become increasingly afraid of 2018 and that the agencies of the Federal Government should know that no matter how hard they try, Ekiti electorate will not be deceived by their blackmail and media trial.
Governor Fayose said
"The EFCC should be told in clear terms that this is 2016 and not 2006 when impeachment notices against governors were signed on the table of EFCC operatives. Those who are teleguiding the EFCC now should also be reminded that they did more than what they are doing now in 2006, yet I was overwhelmingly voted for by the Ekiti people eight years after the orchestrated impeachment which the Supreme Court declared illegal.
The governor asked;
"Should Nigerians now conclude that EFCC is an appendage of APC? Is the EFCC for investigation of corrupt practices among all Nigerians or members of opposition parties alone?"
The governor said;
"As at today, I have not been accused of stealing a dime from Ekiti treasury. EFCC has not also said that Ekiti money was stolen and that my election was funded with Ekiti State money."
Accusing the EFCC of carrying out the APC agenda to force him out of office as was done in 2006, the governor said; "It is sad that some politicians from Ekiti State now resume and close in EFCC offices in Lagos and Abuja and we wonder whether those politicians have now taken over the job of EFCC."
He maintained that he will continue to speak his mind on issues affecting Nigerians and can never be cowed, saying;
"Nigerians are suffering. States can no longer pay workers salary, a litre of kerosene is now N220, a bag of rice is now N20,000 and some people will sit in Presidential Villa and expect that all of us should keep silent? That's not possible!
"No amount of media trial by agents of the Buhari-led APC government will make me to stop baring my mind on the cluelessness of the Federal Government."

Flight is delayed for 7 hours by woman insisting on immediate divorce from husband

An unnamed woman in her 40s was so fed up with her marriage that she held up a plane, its entire passengers and crew for seven hours because she wanted an immediate divorce and wanted to get off the airplane immediately.
According to reports, shortly after she boarded the flight along with several hundred passengers flying from Moscow to Vladivostok, Russia, she told the crew she needed to get off in order to get a divorce.
The Rossiya Airline flight was almost ready for take off when the incident took place.xxxAccording to witnesses, the woman was heard saying: "I am not in the mood to fly now."xxxShe then went on to demand that flight attendants let her off the plane.

In accordance with safety regulations, more than 500 other passengers were also forced to disembark the aircraft.

The report didn't indicate whether the woman's husband was also aboard the plane at the time she made her decision.
A certain Elena Ashtein who uploaded a video of the incident to Instagram wrote: "One girl decided not to fly to the coastal town. Moreover, she changed her mind at the time of takeoff.
"For more than an hour [they] tried to persuade her to stay.  "But she said that she decided to get a divorce, and she had to get out."

Former presidential aspirant and federal commissioner Alhaji Umaru Aliyu Shinkafi is dead.

Alhaji Shinkafi died on Wednesday in London at about 4:07 pm Nigerian time. A top source who spoke in confidence said the late Marafan Sokoto had initially received treatment at both St. Nicholas Hospital and Reddington Hospital, Ikeja in Lagos before he was flown abroad in January after a health relapse,The Nation reports:

"We lost Shinkafi in London at about 4pm where he was flown to in January with some members of his immediate family and three medical doctors. In the last six months, he had been battling with his health. But it has pleased Allah to call him home. From Allah we came and unto Him we shall return. Arrangements are being made to bring his corpse to Nigeria for burial on or before Friday because of flight logistics."
Shinkafi was a former Director-General of the Nigerian Security Organization (NSO), now Department of State Security Service ( DSS) from October 1979 to November 1983.xxxHe is survived by three wives and five children including, Zainab, wife of Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagudu and Hadiza, wife of Zamfara State Governor, Abdul Azeez Yari.

Shinkafi was also a graduate of the University of Lagos where he bagged his LLB degree in Law in 1973. He was a leading presidential aspirant under the defunct National Republican Convention (NRC) in 1992 before the the Military regime of ex-President Ibrahim Babangida aborted the primaries.

He however succeeded in being the vice-presidential candidate of Olu Falae in the APP/AD alliance in 1999. The alliance was defeated at the poll in 1999 by the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) which fielded Olusegun Obasanjo/Atiku Abubakar for the presidential race.

Dabiri-Erewa condemns stabbing to death of Nigerian teenager in London

Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora has condemned the gruesome stabbing to death of another Nigerian teenager in London. In a statement by her Special Assistant on Media, Abdur-Rahman Balogun in Abuja, Dabiri-Erewa said the killing of 17-year old Fola Orebiyi, was unacceptable to the government and people of Nigeria.
Dabiri-Erewa said the killing of Orebiyi and other extra judicial killing of Nigeria citizens in UK was becoming worrisome. She called for full investigation of the incident and urged the UK government to make sure that justice prevails.

While condoling the family of the deceased boy on the ugly incident, she prayed unto God to give the bereaved family the fortitude to bear the painful loss. She said that while Nigeria will not condone crime and criminal tendencies, it takes exception to the harassment, killing and execution of her nationals abroad unjustifiably. Dabiri-Erewa urged Nigerians to support President Muhammadu Buhari administration in making Nigeria a better place, urging them to support the administration war against corruption.

A Nigerian student, Fola Orebiyi, was reportedly stabbed to death in a street clash on Sunday July 3, in Notting Hill, London, by a gang of youths. He was reportedly involved in a fight on a nearby estate with a gang of youths, who chased him into the busy road where he was stabbed in the neck in front of shocked passersby and tourists. Following the stabbing, he collapsed and bled to death and all efforts by the Police and paramedics to resuscitate him, proved abortive. The deceased's neighbour, Osman Sahal, told the police:
"He was a nice boy and very considerate; none of us can understand how this could have happened. "As far as I knew, he was never in trouble. I suppose we must now wait for the police to investigate."
Orebiyi, who completed his General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) at Holland Park in London, was studying for his A levels at the Chelsea Academy before his death. After the incident, a yet-to-be identified 15-year-old boy was arrested by the London police in connection with the death. An anonymous teenager was quoted to have told the police:
"I know what happened; he was protecting a friend over a silly beef which turned violent."  
She said:
"It was traumatising. It took half an hour for the ambulance to arrive even though there are hospitals all around. I spoke to the person who called the police and he said it took them so long to get here.

Nick Young's baby mama, Keona Green has granted UsWeekly a bombshell interview in which she says the baby she's pregnant with is '200 percent his', she also spoke of how their affair blossomed while Nick was engaged to Iggy. Green and Nick were high school sweethearts and have a four-year-old son together, they grew close again in September last year and things quickly turned romantic.
'We would take our son to Magic Mountain together,' she recalled. 'But sometimes Nick would say, "Oh, there's too much traffic," and he'd just play with Nicholas in his room. We got caught up in the moment and it just happened.'
Green said she encouraged Nick to tell Iggy, but he didn't listen to her.
'I would be like, "Nick, you cannot be sloppy. You need to be honest with Azalea,"' she said. 'He would say, "I don't want to hear it."
'I don't know what was going on in his household, but me and Nick have lots of history. It wasn't a secret on my end.' Green says she has no regrets about the romance and doesn't think she was the only one involved with Nick.
'I didn't feel guilty because I was in love with a man, and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only woman,' she said. Green says she had no doubt Nick was responsible when she found out she was pregnant after experiencing back pain.
'It was 200 percent Nick's child,' she shared. 'He's always supportive, but he was in shock. With him being in a public relationship, he didn't know how to handle it. We didn't get into [how he would tell Azalea]. I felt it was his decision how to handle it.' She also says she believed Nick should tell Iggy but tried to contact the singer herself.
'I tried to reach out to her; I never got a response'.
She added: 'I mean, I'm definitely not going to apologize for being in love with a man who I have a lot of history with. I do wish her that kind of success and hope that she can get through this difficult time and she and Nick can move forward from this.'
Green says she thinks Nick should focus on his basketball career and the pair are not currently together even though Nick has been supportive during her pregnancy. She added that she wouldn't rule out the possibility of them getting back together in future.

RMD pays an emotional tribute to late veteran actress - Bukky Ajayi

Bukky Ajayi passed away at the age of 82 at her residence in Lagos today and has been buried according to Islamic rites. Actor Richard Mofe Damijo paid an emotional tribute to the late veteran, apologizing for delaying his plan to visit her. He wrote:

"Aunty Bukks, I am sorry. Sorry I did NOT visit you in your last days, not because I didn't want to but because I took for granted the gift of life and procrastinated. To think that I spoke to Abounce kunle your son (whom I share the TV series Hush with where he is such a star now as Ruffy Jackson. Taking after you) several days ago to ask for the best time to come see you...if I knew it was time I would have come that very day to see you but who would have thought that the bold, strong Aunty Bukks who has consistently defied every circumstance and risen above every situation will go to sleep so soon.
It is my birthday today and as I sit here writing you, I can only think how ironic it is that you have completed the circle of life.
I am deeply pained by your passing but I am extremely proud that you are a part of my life and I yours.

A Toyota Hilux 2014 model, stolen from where it was parked at Tiwalade Street, at Shogunle area of Lagos State was this afternoon, July 6, recovered by RRS officials at Ebute in Ikorodu. The robbers escaped on sighting the RRS officials.
The Hilux belonging to a Lagos based company, served as a security vehicle. According to the driver of the vehicle, Felix Agunbiade, the vehicle was parked at his residence around 2:30 a.m in Shogunle. He woke up this morning with a plan to pick his company's CEO, who was visiting from Dubai, only to discover the pick-up was missing.

As at the time of recovering the vehicle, its number plate has been changed and replaced with LSR 400 CZ. The vehicle has been handed over to the DPO of the Police Division at Shogunle in the presence of the owner's representative.

According to the Lagos State Police Command PRO, SP Dolapo Badmos, investigation is on-going to arrest all members of the robbery gang.

Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on National Assembly Matters, Ita Enang, says those trying to incite others against President Buhari over his recent political appointments are being unfair. Many Nigerians have accused the President of lopsided appointments.

Speaking at a reception organised for him and two others by the Akwa-Cross Association in the Public Service in Abuja today July 7th, Ita recounted the political office president Buhari had handed over to people from the South South, South East region.
"He has given us the Chief of Naval Staff, a very high ranking officer in the federal security council. Father dies after ‘being hit by his son’ who he had not spoken to in four years (photos)

25 year old Morgan Isles-English, from Teneriffe in suburban Brisbane, was arrested and charged on Monday night after allegedly punching his father in the mouth causing him to smash his head on a concrete. His dad, 53-year-old Mark English who had not seen his son in 4 years has now died from the life-threatening head injuries.

Investigators are considering upgrading the charges to manslaughter as Isles-English was initially charged with grievous bodily harm.

The Brisbane Times reports that the son fled the scene as his father lay unconscious, face down on the street, and was given first aid by his partner Varri Telfer who waited for an ambulance. He was rushed to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital suffering life threatening head injuries and was placed in a medically induced coma before later giving up the ghost.

On Tuesday, the young man looked to be in distress at the Brisbane Magistrates Court where he repeatedly hit his head against the glass of the dock.
He called out to a woman thought to be his mother in the public gallery asking about his father's condition.When she indicated that Mr English was still in a coma, the 25-year-old broke down in tears.

Isles-English reportedly shouted to his mother: "I love you mum" to which she responded with "I love you too."

She said this continues for over 4 years, she have lost 2 pregnancy after he beat her too the point she bleed for weeks an lost both babies. until it got to this point an she realized that she will die an this kids will have no one too take care for them that when she decided to open up too us her family 😟😟, It pains me so much because have always been this person that will stand an fight for any lady being maltreated by any one an too imagine my own blood Sis was passing through so much pain an domestic violence killed me, so many people die of silence, the fear of the shame they have brought on their self, so many people that go through domestic violence comes from a good home an the family are always ready too support if only they are allowed in too help, my dad died an he never knew the pain an suffering my Sis was passing through. for years I eat four times a day feeling blessed not realizing my own blood Sister sleeps in hunger most days. What pained me the most is the fact that I call her every day, she is always say she is fine an same with the kids, they have all learn too smile in BTW their pain. Actor Femi Branch shared an emotional video on his Instagram page this afternoon after he learnt of the passing of veteran actress, Bukky Ajayi. In the video, Femi said after he heard she had died, he took his phone to call her only to realize he didn't have her number on his phone. According to him, he felt so ashamed. He then asked his colleagues to reach out to each other more often...

"I just found out that Aunty has passed on and I picked up my phone immediately to call her and I couldn't find her number and I felt so ashamed and this is what happens to us a whole lot of times especially in this profession. Photos: Three men caught smuggling hundreds of iPhones into China by hiding them in buckets of fish

Police successfully caught fishermen who were attempting to smuggle 370 iPhone 6S phones, estimated to cost worth around two million yuan (£228,000), hidden in buckets with fish placed on top, into China. According to reports, this is the first time that smugglers have used this method.

The police had decided stop the boat in waters close to the city of Shenzhen after they noticed that it was travelling suspiciously fast and noticed that there were a number of dead fish onboard. Officials could tell that the men were particularly nervous and took a more detailed look at the boat once it was stopped. When they checked the buckets of fish, they found 370 iPhones hidden among some fish carcasses.

Smuggling electrical goods from Hong Kong into mainland China is a recurring problem. Electronic goods from Hong Kong are cheaper than they are across the border, and many people are found trying to sneak a few items in. The three smugglers confessed to the crime, saying that they had just finished a fishing trip when they were approached by some smugglers who offered them 1,000 yuan (£114) each to deliver the phones. The case is now under investigation.

Late Veteran actress, Bukky Ajayi to be buried according to Muslim Rites today

Armed robbers terrorizing people in Obukpa community & UNN - arrested and paraded naked

Three armed robbers specialized in robbing innocent people in both Obukpa community and University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugu State, were arrested and paraded naked early this morning. Another photo after the cut.
